Dualboot multiple roms on GS6 - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S6

Used this extensively on my Sprint GS4. Running currently with our 2 roms. Works great! The developer is awesome. Highly recommend.

Really? I get really excited!

roms and 4g

I'm coming over here from the Samsung Captivate section for some help. I've been flashing ROMs on my Captivate since they were available and am pretty familiar with how stuff works over there.
However, my girlfriend has an EVO 4G and I have her running on Cyanogen 6.1 RC1. Sprint just stood up 4G here in Miami, so of course she wants to get her $10 worth and wants 4G access.
I'm wondering what ROMs are compatible with 4G, and of those which would you guys recommend? I tried searching but you guys have WAY to many ROMs available (we only have 10 or so for the Captivate) and I simply don't have the time to read through all the features of every ROM.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Stick with the Sense-based ROMs. I'm a big fan of myn's warm and can confirm 4g works like a charm.

+1 Myn's Rom is overall a favorite Sense rom of mine. However it may not be for anybody, thread wise it is the biggest rom for the Evo. I have also used Fresh which also has 4g. I would say between those two you can find what she would like just read the OP for each rom.
+1 Myn's Warm. Been using it for about a week now and it is a truly amazing ROM. I have been thinking about trying others. Myn's and CM 6.1 RC2 are the only ROM's I've tried since getting my EVO 2 weeks ago. Pretty much any of the Sense Rom's are going to work with 4G. Any AOSP will not. Hopefully soon someone will figure out how to get 4G in a AOSP Rom because I really do love CM 6.1 nightlies. They have some unbelievable features.

Proud But surprised new gn owner

Hey All! Just got my gn a couple weeks ago and I love it! I must say though I'm a little surprised at how few roms there are out for it. I know it's new and all but still it HAS been out since last fall! Is this how long it normally takes to build a fan base with these phones? I'm not complaining. I just found it curious, coming from the Nexus S to owning the new Android flagship that there would still be such relatively little support by now. Any takers on the topic? I'd Be interested to hear your input!
Oh By the way, I'm in no way bashing the phone or this forum. I think both are outstanding. Just making conversation lol

Why do we need more roms? The current ones provide everything we need.
Same complaints about the epic touch, six months later there's a ridiculous amount of ROMs to flash.
it's better to have a few very good roms than a lot of roms that are not so good.
I just counted 25 ROMs in the dev section. Should our phones be walking to the store for us?
What more do you need??
Sent from the future.
Well take a look at the nexus s forum. there's a rom for everyone! One Can never have too much choice! And again it was just a question. No Need to get all defensive.
less roms equals the nest selection
I think the reason is that a couple of roms got such a headstart in users and features, the devs don't see a demand. Sometimes it seems like over half the GNex owners use aokp, myself included.
For me it's surprising to see so little in flashable mods. I'd love to try some roms, but they don't have a customizable lock screen or notification toggles. To me those are must haves, so I stick with aokp. Maybe when cyanogenmod finally goes stable, devs can use it as a base for great roms.

I can see what you mean. I also came from the Nexus S, and I did notice that there are a lot more ROMS for it. But it seems like there is no low quality roms for the Gnex. It really is a casse of quality over quantity. And we also have some groundbreaking roms here, such as paranoidandroid.
Quality v.s. quantity.
Are you looking for ROMs built from ASOP or ROMS that are just a klang of another with skins?
IMHO, ASOP or CM9 is all that a person needs. Then add what you want and ignore the rest.
I think as far as ROMS go we have hit a plateau. Until the next release (assuming there are new features) nearly everything is available over the ROMS we currently have. I can see a few kernels coming up with new ideas but I think ROMS are as up to speed as we can expect for a while

Gotta be careful what you say around here. I had opened up a similar thread where I was "complaining" about the Rom Support for the nexus and got flamed big time as effect.
Just watch out around here.. they don't like opinions
But coming from a sgs 2 I also was dissapointed to not find hundreds of different Roms for the nexus as there were for the galaxy s 2. Also every Rom on the nexus looks about the same and has about the same Features while for the galaxy they really differed.
I'm on bamf with bond Kernel and love them. But also waiting for an update from both since weeks....

wait till jelly bean comes out
we have less ROMs coz they're all based on ICS , nexus S has various gingerbread versions too, not to mention it's been there for quite some time. as someone already said, basically we have everything we need with the current ROMs, except ParanoidAndroid, the only new idea could be a port of sense or tw for example, but then there's the same problem with drivers, certain hardware not working and so on.. Some people think for instance, that buying HTC or Samsung devices will give them more options, sense/TW roms and aosp/miui , and it does sound good in theory , but the reality is that u will always end up with a buggy AOSP experience (there's always something that's not working right-been through many devices and it's the same story all over again).
As a conclusion, people should make a little research before getting a device, if u like what sense or TW (or any other custom UI) offers u , then u should consider that device, if u want a real AOSP experience then the nexus is ur best choice. Not to mention that if u have a fetish to change the way ur UI looks u can always get a 3rd party launcher, AOSP handles it best coz sense or TW occupy more RAM and running a market launcher on top of all this just makes it worse.
yeah a lot of you guys make sense. I guess with all the options on the nexus s I had become a bit of a crack flasher. I just enjoyed trying out new and different roms and playing with them. but as someone just said here earlier all the ones here are pretty much the same. I'm using aokp now and I like it. I just also like other stuff too lol
thanks for your opinions everyone! keep em coming! great reading
I agree. I miss my galaxy s2 i9100. That phone has the most development. I wanna give you a reason for more development... it was expensive but it was launched everywhere in the world. Second you can run 4 different (base) types of roms.
1) touchwiz gingerbread
2) cm7 aosp based gingerbread
3) touchwiz ICS
4) cm9 aosp based ics roms
So you can see how there are always roms to flash. I loved flashing early builds as well. So I encourage more devs to build different and unique roms rather than taking features from other roms. Thanks

Consider it a blessing. Towards the dying days of the SE X10, most of the renowned devs had moved on and then we had a million different variations of every kind of rom you could think of. We had heaps of MIUI roms which were all identical but with a different theme. Same story with Cyanogen roms.
There's really no need to have a plethora of roms because they all end up being the same. Its better to have a selection of high quality roms to pick from.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus
in my experience most of the roms available are just variations of stock **** by some kid who learned to deodex and root. because what the world really needs is another ****ty rom based on sense.
there are no GB roms, no roms based on some vendor-ruined stock build. just AOSP. there are few bugs, just awesome features. you don't need a ton of roms when you have that.

[Q] What is the best Jellybean ROM? Your opinions plz....

Hello! This question has probably been asked, but I put the title in and it didn't come up in similar threads.....
I just got my SGS3 a couple of weeks ago and I love it so far. I am currently looking for a nice deodexed, debloated Jellybean ROM. I am looking for one that has great battery life, sleek features and preferably everything in working condition with no bugs. Which is the best? Which are you currently using? I ask your opinions please w/ supporting statements as to why you love your ROM. Thanks ahead of time for the answers!

I'm running that Rom as well but I found a lil fault in it. It shows graphics trails on certain apps and almost does a flicker on the swype pad when texting.

Well I'm running ParanoidAndroid 2.16 at the moment and it runs excellent, I get about 22-26 hours per charge. I ran CM10 but wasn't really impressed and battery was going quickly. Don't forget to hit Thanks if you found my comment useful

[Q] Paranoid Android on Note 3???

On my note 2 I've had PA and I loved it. simple and easy but I just got started looking at serious developer ROMS since i got the note 3 and I don't have much knowledge on it and if PA is as effective as roms made already. So here are my questions:
Is paranoid android effective compared to let's say Jedi? And if it's not what's a good way to emulate it's features(such as hybrid)
Is it developed already for the Note 3? If not when do you think it will push out?
Since I've been modding with roms already made I have learned alot since my switch to the note 3. and I feel like I am way behind when it comes to developing and customizing(i just edited my first systemui on apktool last night) so it's been inspiring me to learn more. But i just love the simplisticity of PA.
Thanks guys! I look forward to becoming an active member on XDA!
PA is based on AOSP/CM. Until we get a built-from-source ROM available for Note3, you won't be able to get PA. IMO, the best thing in PA is per-app DPI, and you can get that with Xposed and the App Settings module. You also already have a better version of floating windows in the stock ROM.

If CM hasn't started supporting it yet, don't expect to see it on PA, AOKP, etc til then. Usually CM waits for recovery to be working on all variants before they start to really push for support.
Pay close attention to their gerrit here: http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/q/statuspen,n,z
But like I said once most variants get a working recovery CM and others will start to support the Note 3 in terms of AOSP ROMs. Right now, AT&T and VZW are both waiting for stable recovery. Usually once those 2 are going, since T-Mobile and Sprint don't really lock their bootloaders, it'll happen. Just be patient. We probably won't see 4.3 AOSP on the Note 3... more than likely it'll be 4.4 KitKat

Cool, thanks for the info! I figured that development on 4.3 for note 3 won't really happen. Kind of got stuck at the worst time to learn Android dev. Kit kat is supposed to be release soon i hope with the nexux 5. I guess untill then ill get to fool around with what is made now. And yes atnt and vzw are reeeeally strict on bootloading. Just one of many reason why i eventually switched to tmo!
Thanks by the way! Good info I didn't know CM and PA are related.

No problem. Yeah most AOSP based ROMs are based on CyanogenMod. Ones that aren't are ones that are built from pure AOSP, which usually are Nexus devices...

Yeahhh I guess it's best just to wait on it all. per-app DPI works really well and so does floating windows with touch-wiz, but, call me lazy, I would just like a way to have access to the windows without having to use the spen. I know right? After using CM for so long on my note 2, TW is so bloated. I can't wait either AOKP or Illusion to be developed for my device.
This time around on my Note 3, I'm not using any CM based roms. On my previous phone, a mt4gs from HTC, I was flashing a different CM based rom every month or every other month but on a friends phone, a Note 2, I had put Jedi Master on it and was impressed. So I waited a couple of weeks after getting my phone, watching what was being released and ended up settling on the latest release by jovi23 of his DarthStalker rom and have been impressed with it. My only complaint and it is such a tiny complaint too, is that he has 4x4/5x5/5x6 icon grids for the home screen but no 4x6.

Well Personally I use sslauncher and that solves my grid problems. And I guess it's people preference, I just don't like TouchWiz. To Samsung: Note 3: Awesomeness, Touchwiz: Score of Zero. I started on DarthStalker which was awesome, but then I got curious about the roms made recently so now I'm currently on Jedi Elite, which is good too. I think I may switch back to DS because I've noticed some lagginess on Jedi that I didn't experience with Darth.
Sweet OP type building cm and Pa for the phone awesome sauce..

Best Custom Rom?

I just got into Rooting my S4, I used to have an S3 so i'm no noob when it comes to development. the issue i am having is that since I got an S4, I see so many different Custom Roms that I don't know where to start so I thought that someone might be able to help. I just want to know your opinions on the best Custom Roms as far as lollipop and Marshmallow go for example...speed of use, OTA updates, actively developed etc. thanks for the help!

Welcome to the S4!
There are a lot of great ROMs out right now. Just an FYI, marshmallow is stable on the S4, however, there are a few generic problems in marshmallow with Bluetooth, particularly if playing audio to a Bluetooth device when receiving a phone call. Other than that, it is pretty solid and notably smooth and fast, just like lollipop.
There is a pretty good CyanogenMod 13 and Beanstock 6.0.1 out right now in the development forum, and they update fairly regularly.
There is also a really feature rich AOKP 6.0.1 that is really solid, and a PAC ROM 6.0.1 in the forums too.
If you want features and more features, I really recommend AOKP. If you want a suped up kernel, I recommend CM13 by @javelinanddart.
If Bluetooth is a must, I recommend SlimLP, or the older Resurrection remix 5.1.1.
The great thing about custom roms, is it is like ice cream, there are lots of great flavours, and there isn't really a wrong choice. Hope that helps!
Thanks for the info! I was starting to get a little overwhelmed because their are so many choices that i didn't know where to start but now I have some direction.

I agree with you hotshot247, there is sooo many. I have been toying with Team OctOs Oct-MM. It is very nice and very AOSP, with just a few tweaks available via there app. But like Alaska said it does have an issues when you are playing music/audio on Bluetooth and get a phone call.
I have also been toying with Albe95 S6 FULL PORT. It is a Touchwize 5.1.1 ROM. I didn't realize how much I like Touchwize and how much I have become a custom to it. For the most part any of Albe95 ROMs look good to me personally.
Albe95 also has another ROM I have been looking at, Albe95 LolliROM [S6/S7/N4/N5 Feature]. It is 5.0.1 base. It has a lot of features and app ports from some of the newest Galaxy phones.
