Sony Mobile is committed to supporting the open developer community, and one way to show this is by publishing parts of our code as well as selected tools developed by our internal developers.
For some of the Xperia™ devices, we provide Android™ Open Source Project (AOSP) device configurations on GitHub. This means that the software will be open for you as a developer to use and contribute to. This is a way for us to support the open Android community, and it is also a tool for us to facilitate and verify contributions to AOSP.
If you want to build AOSP for your unlocked Xperia device, you find all the resources you need in the sections below.

Hello is there a AOSP Marshmallow Android 6.0.1 ROM which includes the chances of 2016-10-31?
This massage sounds like camera improvements:
AOSP Marshmallow binaries for Android 6.0.1 updated for camera enhancements and removed blob duplication on all platforms, clean-up on the msm8976 platform, fixed build on the msm8939 platform and proximity fix for Xperia Z1 and Z1 Compact.

Hello! I am building AOSP 7.0 Nougat for the Z5 Premium Dual and I am having an issue with my new kernel where the SIM cards aren't being read.
The new kernel where it is not working is built on the newest revision of Nougat 7.0.0 (r24 at this moment in time) that is now officially supported by Sony.
The old kernel where it IS working is built on revision 17 (the one Sony was supporting until now).
This is my first time building android so I would very much appreciate any help or suggestions!
The thread can be referenced under Original Development and I can upload the working and non-working kernel if needed!
I'm looking for a rom for my xperia z1 compact and I was wondering which of the lineage os versions is the most stable and best for daily usage? Preferably anything above android 7.0.

I am using LineageOS 17.1 for some weeks, it looks little bit like stock rom on XZ2 compact and works very well. Sadly, i have broken proximity sensor so in call i have all time black screen but overall excellent rom.
I havent tried 18.1, because i prefer android 10.

Latest vanilla. Maybe you should try reflash .236 original .ftf file with flashtool and try again.
Or try new battery.
We are happy to announce that we now have launched AOSP build instructions for Android 13!
The Xperia Open Source Project (Xperia Open Devices) is an initiative created to guide the developers step-by-step on how to build AOSP for their unlocked Xperia devices. Our instructions will show you how to prepare your environment, how to download all the necessary tools, and how to download and configure the code before you can build AOSP images and flash them on your own device.

Great news.
Can these instructions also be used to build LineageOS by using repo init -u https://github.com/LineageOS/android.git -b lineage-19.1 in step 4-1?
That's cool. Got me wondering if there's a chance for the 10 III to receive a stock Android 13 update at some point. I know that Sony used to only release one major Android update for its phones, but maybe things are changing for the better.
Interesting! I just checked and there are no binaries for android 13. Maybe the binaries for android 12 works?

Tried building the 13.0.0_r7 as userdebug, boots and works but cellular doesn't seem to work yet. I flashed the Android 12 binaries called SW_binaries_for_Xperia_Android_12_4.19_v3a_lena
