Does anyone have the HTC M9 Drivers?
I keep getting an installation error using HTC Sync downloaded from the HTC website when it gets to the drivers part, and after flashing the RUU my computer will no longer recognize the phone under "adb devices" and I have USB Debugging enabled.
Thanks!

Im not sure we can help you if you do not tell us what os you are running. However try android naked drivers and this 15 second install of adb and fastboot.

Hi,
I enabled USB debugging on my HTC desire and want to connect to the ADB.
However, the device shows up in my Windows 7 device manager as "Unknown Device". I tried to use the SDK USB driver, but it would not take it.
Any advice how to fix this?
thanks!
Did you install HTC Sync?
DUH. Thanks. Now it worked.
Hi!
Trying to unlock my phone (htcdev.com) I get stuck in Step Nr. 8 (fastboot oem get_identifier_token). The cmd says "wating for device".
As I could see my computer does not recognize my phone properly in HBOOT. My phone is called (in the devices view) "Android 1.0" and has this yellow exclamation mark because the drivers are not installed. Windows can't find the drivers..
Why do I have this problem? Latest HTC Sync is installed and the phone is normally recognized properly!
I had same problem. just unplug and replug the usb cable, It will go ahead!
atleast worked on mine!
Does not work here =(

Thanks, but I guess this is HTC Desire specific... I'll give it a try though...
Install HTC Sync that gives you the drivers then just uninstall it?
The solution was that I had to manually tell Windows that it should take the HTC USB drivers (that actually were already installed) =)
Phone is unlocked now, woohooo
Good luck customising your phone

What do you mean by this?
Hello.
I´ve recently got a desire and I tried to root it using the unrevoked method, but with no luck.
I´ve managed to install the USB drivers, but the phone still seems to be not recognized. (Left with "Waiting for a device")
Yes I´ve turned on USB Debugging.
But everytime I connect my device, I see some strange "ADB" unrecognized device with an exclamation mark.
Tried to update "its" drivers with the drivers from unrevoked, no luck.
edit:I also tried to s-off with revolutionary, same problem ("Waiting for a device")
Any suggestions ?
Or other method how to root Desire on W8?
I´m using Windows 8 64bit.
HTC Desire is 2.2.2.
Thanks
EDIT: SOLVED thanks to k3lcior and his url. Thank you.
Try to download and install HTC Sync to get USB drivers from HTC. Then uninstall HTC Sync while leaving the USB drivers that came along with it installed. But no guarantee this will even work on Win8

You may want to take a look on this, especially "Edit2".
Thanks for all suggestions, I was able to get fastboot working, somehow. But that´s pretty much everything.
Btw. There´s a strange problem with HTC Sync as well. I tried to install HTC Sync, just for testing.
HTC Sync doesnt seem to be detecting my phone as well.
Do you think these 2 problems might be connected?
I have just purchased HTC One (M8) Developer Edition (CID: BS_US002. MID: 0P6B12000) with unlocked bootloader. I'm on Android 4.4.4, Sense: 6.0, and Software: 3.28.1540.5. I downloaded the latest SDK (64-bit) and I have the HTC divers installed. I'm running Windows 8.1. I wanted first to root my device, so I connected to fastboot to flash custom recovery... etc. When I enter command "fastboot device" I get the message "waiting for device". The device is seen in device manager as Android 1. What's to be done here? I tried different port and a different cable. I checked in Control Panel/Program and features and I didn't find HTC Sync installed.
I think Windows 8.1 is problematic in terms of USB connectivity with this phone. USB 3.0 is often an issue, as well. The latter can be resolved by disabling the USB 3.0 drivers, as some have reported.
Try to re-install HTC Sync.
Otherwise, try to just uninstall Sync and any associated HTC drivers.
Then connect the phone, go to Device Manager, find the device. Then select the option to manually pick the drivers, and select the generic Android MTP device drivers. This fixed it for me, but under Win7.

I know your looking for "now"answers but do you happen to have another rooted Android device ?
Check out the link below for future alternatives over using a computer

I don't have a computer running Windows 7, but I'll use a friend's computer and see.

I have rooted all my devices without a problem, my last device was HTC One (M7). It's not the first time to have a problem with fastboot, but I came to ask here as the device isn't new and there might be a known issue with a known fix to this. It's my first few days with the phone. I'll check the link on the computer. Thank you!
I bought my laptop exclusively just for use with all my devices and it came windows 8.
I used a program called Deban to wipe my hard drive and installed Windows 7 , it took some time to accomplish

I'm sorry to ask as you've mentioned being familiar with all of this but did you boot it to hboot/fastboot.i remember it being mentioned that things like usb debugging and drivers are not necessary for fastboot to work

Try a different port. I have a new laptop running 8.1, and one port is 3.0, one is 3.0/2.0, and the other two are 2.0. I use the 2.0 ports with no issue for ADB. There's a good chance that a different USB port will work.
For drivers, download HTC Sync, run it to install the drivers, then uninstall HTC Sync. Thast's what I did, anyways.

It worked on Windows 7. I have tried USB 2 port on Windows 8.1 and didn't work.

Will try that and see. Thanks for the videos!
Hello,
I haven't dealt with HTC since my original Desire and I'm now trying to root this 816 for a friend. I must be missing something because I've been to this all day
The problem is that I cannot unlock the bootloader as to the instructions in HTCdev. The command fastboot oem get_identifier_token does not work and returns FAILED (remote: unknown command)
I've tried this on two different PCs without success. The device gets recognized in both ADB and fastboot.
As I've understood, I have to get past this first step or otherwise there's little to do. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
you should preferably uninstall hTC sync(but not remove hTC drivers), also have USB debugging enabled in developer options.
also, try using the tools from here

On the other PC I do not have HTC Sync even installed. I've also tried with different drivers (Google, HTC Android Interface...) but the result is always the same. USB Debugging is enabled, but in fastboot it shouldn't make any difference, as far as I know you cannot toggle it on or off.
Edit: I'm actually using the minimal ADB and Fastboot.
HTC Sync is good!
Actually, install HTC Sync Manager. It comes with the needed drivers and even adb and fastboot, so you should try it. As far as I know the adb and fastboot are located somewhere in the folder where you installed the sync manager
