I'm looking at buying one of these from ebay, but the ones on ebay just have the battery and the back case. So how are y'all charging it? Just with it inside your phone and using a usb charger or something?
I charge my 3500 mAh battery inside the phone and the stock battery in an external charger.
I hope you mean Seido's 3500mAh battery, as I don't know any reliable manufacturer that produces a 3000mAh battery.
In any case, most people probably just charge them in the phone. But external chargers should be available.

I was going to type 3500mah, but at the time of the posting, in the accessories forum there was a post talking about 3000mah...so I thought it was 3000mah.
And also..I thought people said that the Evo wasn't meant to charge a battery of that size, so would that mess up battery life at all?

I havent seen an issue....but I did have to clear the battery stats to get it to charge all the way and get an accurate reading of battery life remaining
I have the 3000mah batteries from ebay. I charge them in my wall charger that I got with my 1500mah batteries, also from ebay.
Seidio 3500mah here , I charge in the phone . I get the initial drop when I unplug in the morning but the battery itself lasts way longer than stock . I dont have an external charger
how much size is added to the phone with this battery? I checked it out on youtube, but it made the phone look way to huge, bigger than i think the battery makes it...i distrust the videos because some videos with an Evo with a regular battery makes it look like its a toothpick...
I love my 3000mah ebay battery, and the ebay door looks much better than the seidio door. I get great battery life out of it, around 3 times as long as the stock battey. I charge it in the phone occasionaly(and wipe battery stats), but I get better life when using an external charger. For this I use my dock with the extra battery slot on the backside. My solo external battery charger does not charge as well as my dock. I just made a thread about it on PPCG and AndroidForums.
So, I have been looking all over the various stores (Sprint, Radio Shack, Ebay, Seidio), I bought a standard battery (the same mAh as my stock battery). The battery I purchased has about the same batter life (as expected about 6-9 hours depending upon usage of games and data) Looking over the extended life battery options I dont quite understand the claims.
http://www.seidioonline.com/product-p/bacy35hev4-bk.htm
This is a 3500mAh battery and has "double the capacity of the original battery"
http://www.seidioonline.com/product-p/basi17hev4.htm
This is a 1750mAh battery, it's not listed the capacity.. but my stock battery is 1500mAh so it cannot be by much.
http://cgi.ebay.com/3500mAh-Extende...Accessories&hash=item483d837c7f#ht_4076wt_905
This is a 3500mAh battery, it comes with a battery cover I would imagine that it's similar to the Seidio battery as far as in the capacity
has anyone tried the extended batteries off of ebay, do they work well.. and do the battery covers hold up well?
Any suggestions of extending battery life? I keep my wifi turned off, dimmed my screen, and a few other things.
Right now I am thinking of just getting a battery charger and just swapping between the two batteries.. it would just be a hassle taking my case and battery cover on and off every day.
check out http://batteryboss.org/ first to see where those batteries really stand.
there is also an 1800 mah at http://www.htcexpress.com/ that was supposedly tested to be 1700 mah.
that woud make it the best battery around, but i bought one and it seemed worse than the stock battery.
sprint also now has a 2600 mah with extended back. i don't know if anyone has tested it yet.
i purchased the ebay 3500mah with cover and also the OEM HTC extended battery for the TP2
HTC model no. RHOD170
. works great and according to battery boss it is the best extended battery ratings wise.
i got the battery for OEM HTC extended battery for18 bucks on ebay. so you have have two batteries and a better looking cover for half the price of the seidio battery.
however, i cant seem to get the battery status to show up correctly on the oem battery display but it does show up on "battery status" app

This is a way better buy. The battery life rocks. The door is rubberized and a really nice feel/texture. Moretalktime has 100% feedback and has them in stock in USA.

I purchased the Sieidio Battery 1750mAh on Amazon about a month ago. This battery is not worth the money at all. If you want an extra battery then I suggest buying an OEM battery.
I might be wrong but I think this battery actually goes down faster than the one that came with the phone. My biggest problem with this battery is that it does not fit properly in the phone. It can just be set down or place in my pocket and that is enough to make the phone.
DON'T wast you money on this battery

I got two 1800mAh batteries for about $30, and experienced the same thing. After awhile though, I realized that you have to do a few things to get better battery life.
1) Charge the battery to full while the phone is on.
2) Unplug and plug back in to verify that the phone is fully charged (green led)
3) Turn the phone off
4) Unplug, plug in, and wait for a green led
5) Repeat that 5-10 times
6) Then while still plugged in, reboot into Recovery and wipe the battery stats via the advanced menu.
7) Reboot, and use your phone as you normally would.
This may sound like alot, but it really only take about 5 mins. Even after wipe, it will still take about 5 full discharges to reap the better battery life. Hope this helps!
I think its just luck of the draw on aftermarket batteries (the cheap ones at least)
I have heard good and bad on ALL of them.
I got the Chichitec/htcexpress 1800 batteries with charger. Came in the other day and I couldn't be happier. 14 hours on initial charge, that's unheard of for me. On my stock battery I had to keep the phone plugged in most of the day at work just to still have juice by the time I got home. And supposedly these things start acting even better after a few charge cycles.
(Fits with stock battery door too)
But for every person that has a good experience with any of these companies, there's someone else with a horror story.

Could have told you that before you bought it, ratings by aftermarket reputable companies are close and never accurate...if they rate it at 1750, it's probably 1500-1650... The stock is 1500 so yes you wasted your money. Now on the other hand, the 3500 is the best investment anyone could ever make....
It's been proven long ago seidio over rates their batteries. The "1750" is actually just under 1500, so less capacity then the stock battery.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA Premium App
just terribad in my opinion, gonna stick to my seidio 3500. rather have the size and life than a small size and a measly bump from the 1750mah battery
They rated it less than a 1500 stock battery.
Key with extended batteries is that you actually have to charge them longer than your phone indicates.
Example: I phone said it was fully charged at 3:26am in the morning. Yet it continue to charge until at least 6:45am before it was constant. Granted I am using an SBC kernel but even without, you need to let it charge the night. Don't let the green light fool you. It takes a few extra hours to charge even if the led light is green!
You should just about fully drain your battery and then let it charge overnight. If you aren't on an SBC kernel you may actually want to charge your phone while it's off so that the battery dictates the charge.
You should also wipe your battery stats once the phone is fully charged.
Try that and see if it works for you. I know that I was getting great battery life even on the stock battery. I play "Word With friends" (at least 15 matches running) a lot (at least 15 matches running concurrently) and this game actually drains battery. I still got through the day fine though I also carry a Touch Pro 2 and having the batteries that are the same size allows me to swap when needed.
I have the 2650mah one from sprint and my 3500mah seidio coming in the mail tomorrow. I'll probably write a review for it later. Note, On my 2650mah, it's already on its 12th hour and I was was playing WWF, surfing the web, made several calls and it's still at 77%. I will leave it off the charger tonight and see how it fairs tomorrow.
Good Luck!
I have tested these and if they do last longer then stock, it is only like maybe 20 mins. I have an external charger as well as running the SBC kernel to get a complete charge. I have the sprint 2600 battery as well and love it. Not many cases for it but I have modified a sedio rugged and ballistic to work with it. I let my wife use it for a few days in her evo and had to fight to get it back from her.

So i found this NORMAL sized extended battery on ebay. It has 1700mah opposed to the 1400 mah the factory one has. I have the verizon extended battery and it works great but, IT IS HUGE and there are no decent cases. So for $15 bucks i gave it a shot. When i get it ill let you know if the 300mah makes a difference.

If I am not mistaken...there are threads on this battery and some people didn't find that much of a difference....but each phone is different..
I have the extended battery.....I have a silicone skin that I cut to fit the extended batter cover and then I bought a holster for it...works AWESOME
I didn't see a thread for this specific battery. I cut the case also, and it falls off every time i put it in my pocket drives me crazy lol. Something has to give a 2in thick phone doesn't do it for me. Plus that battery is heavy. So lets see how this cheap battery does
There's a thread somewhere about an independent test from "battery man" or something of the like.
He's stated that these batteries are often rated higher than whey they actually are, like 1700 actually being a 14 something. I'll see if I can find it. It was an interesting read.
Here you go.

It's not a 1700 mAh battery. It's a battery with a 1700 mAh sticker on it. With all the complaints about battery life, and the rumors that the TB was delayed while they worked to improve it, HTC would have gone with a higher capacity battery if one were available in a suitable size.
I got a couple of "1500 mAh" batteries and a charger from Hong Kong for $9 from ebay. They seem to work about the same as the OEM, enough to get me through a day (no 4G here, yet).
Some others had purchased these. If you run Battery Monitor Widget, it tells you how many mAh your battery is, it reports the correct 2750 for my extended, but on these 1700's it reported 1350.
I just need to come out and say it. A battery is a battery, you can't get a huge amount more of mah out of a battery that is the same size. There is no amazing battery that can hold 30% more energy and be the same size. You can increase capacity by taking out circuits, thinning the wall, and optimizing space in the battery but you can't make it tons higher. These batteries promoting themselves and so much more charge in the same package are a scam.
I've been posting on threads on these "1700mAh" batteries because I dislike the company that makes these ads. Its false advertising.
The story is that the seller already had "1500mAh" batteries on Amazon for the MyTouch 4G. Then when the TB came out he listed them on Amazon for the TB advertising them as 1500mAh. A week later he raised the price from $35ish to $50ish for 2 batteries and changed the title to state that its a 1700mAh battery.
For a short period of time people purchased this "1700mAh" battery for the TB. When they received it the sticker still stated 1500mAh. Then later people started getting the batteries with the stickers saying "1700mAh"
Summary: False advertising. Do not buy. Exactly the same as the $3-5 eBay batteries, so SAVE YOUR MONEY
BELIEVE ME I HAVE MY DOUBTS .ill test it and see what it does. it popped up on ebeay and ill try it out. gEeEeez. negative negative negative lol

No one is being negative. They're just trying to let you know that you're getting scammed. Even if it was actually 1700 mah you'd get what, a extra hour out of it?

There's a setting where you can change the capacity. My stock battery read 1350 also.
With that said, I bought these 1700 mah batteries and they are worse than stock. I guess it's a decent price for two extra batteries and a charger, but they suck. They dont extend anything.
i have tried this battery, it is the same, if not worse then the OEM battery.
I bought two of these 1700 mah batteries with a charger a few days ago. I only paid about $26 after shipping so we'll see how well they do. I'm not expecting miracles, I just need one to leave at the office and one for home. If my battery dies, I can still use my phone.

you would probably be better off just flashing a kernel/rom that isn't all bloated and is more energy efficient. Ever since flashing the perfect storm rom my battery life was better. Flashed CM7 when the prealpha came out and its even better.
I'm on the Twisted Sense rom with the bamf_4.3b kernel. I have no complaints with the rom or kernel. My battery drain comes from me never putting the phone down.

My extended batteries came in yesterday. I charged them and carried one today. My phone had drained by about 2:00 pm so I popped in one of my new ones. It's 8:30 and I'm at 69%. I wont say that I'm getting fantastic battery life, but it's fair. I did use navigation and I browsed the web a bit. After around 5 pm, I was on wifi so I'm sure that helped. For $26, I don't think I made a bad deal.

Hi, I was wondering what the highest capacity battery was without having to replace the back cover?
I know of the anker 1900mah, what about the Samsung 2000mah? Also, what do you guys think of buying no name batteries that are advertised as 1900mah?
I've bought no name batteries for my HTC incredible s before, I bought an 1800mah battery which gave me the exact same battery life as a 6 month old stock 1450mah battery, so thoughts?
EDIT: I'm a stickler for thinness so even if a back plate adds 1mm to it, i don't want it, I've had enough of my thick as stars HTC incredible s
the samsung 2000mah battery gives you a new back cover and makes your phone a little bid thicker, but not much. Most hard cases will still tightly fit
This would be your best option, as you are sure it will be 2000mah.
I myself got the 1900mah anker battery and dont really see any difference with it... It is about the same as stock. My 2000mah battery is arriving soon ^^
There are enouf pictures/movies of the 2000mah batter, there you can see how big it is I myself think it will make the phone easyer in the hand
Do instead of it having a bulge at the bottom, now everywhere is as thick as the bulge?

yes!
I only get 2.5 hours screen on time with data most of the time off with my 1900 anker battery, which is same/worse than default battery.
I think your safest/best choice is the samsung's official 2000mah battery. Do know that many slim cases wont fit anymore.
You can clearly see the size here:

Oh yes, since I'm getting a slightly bigger case along with the 2000mah battery, why not get something with even more capacity? What's the largest capacity that will fit in the back plate that comes with the 2000mah extended battery?

2000 mah
You can buy even bigger ones, but they will be 2-3x bigger in size.
And if 3rd party batterymakers say it holds 3500 mah, it actually is only 2500.
Size-quality wise, the official is the best by far!
And if you are really scared of running out of batteries when you are on vacation or something, just get a 2nd battery? This way you can switch battery whenever you want. And you will always have a spare fully charged battery with you

I have quite contrast opinion and experience on Anker battery on my SGS2. It mathematically holds some 16% more juice, but actually performs with 20-25% improvement. My friend who bought one for his Note (both orig and Anker are 2500mAh) says Anker holds up 15% longer (orig would drain every day between 7 and 8 pm, and Anker holds for another hour and a half, approx). It fits your original back cover, and I think it is worth trying.

Oh that sounds good, but don't companies like Anker, Chichitec and mugen "overadvertise" their battery capacities? A 1900mAh would be maybe a 1500mAh and a 1800mAh would be a 1400mAh?
Oh and did you compare your Anker 1900mAh to a new stock battery or one that's maybe 6 months old?
get the 2000 mah battery from samsung, its great, doesnt make the phone any thicker but it makes enough of a difference mate!

Anker is not overadvertisig its batteries like some Chinese factories. When I first tested Anker, my stock battery was some 3 months old. You should know that Anker batteries (as well as stock ones) need some 5 complete charges to start to act fully with their capacity, so do the test not the same moment when you buy the battery, but after 5-6 charges. I am using Anker battery now 99% of the time, and keep my stock one at home, full, just in case I need the phone full urgently. Every time I keep stock battery in phone I can see how it's depleated faster, so Anker is still better than stock one, some 8 months after using it heavily.
My stock battery is always on 15-20% at the end of the working day (from 8am to 22h-midnight), empty by midnight on weekends. Anker can withstand one day + night + morning shift on working days, and full day on the weekend, with some juice left.
Oh, and I use battery circle with % on it, so I can pretty accurately monitor
how fast is my battery draining while on internet, watching video, playing games (you don't see the % during the game, but you see it before and after), calling etc.

i think the best extended battery you could get without any noticeable/annoying bulges, is the legit 2000mAh from Samsung.. it does not cost that much considering that it is not some hoax and it also comes with their custom back cover for the extended batter.. I don't trust Chinese products entirely
