I can take pictures and save to my SD card, but Google photos won't let me delete them, says I need to go to gallery. I go to gallery and I can delete them fine.
But neither gallery or Google photos will let me save my edits. Says "unable to save".
Anyone else?
I'm getting the exact same issue on my g4 with Google photo. I believe it's a bug with the app. I don't have the problem with the LG app though

I downloaded snapseed and I am able to edit and save to the SD card.
But Gallery won't let me save edited changes, which is odd.

Currently i am running CM9 final 8/10 and experiencing a problem deleting photos using the gallery app.
1. Set camera Storage: SD Card.
2. Take picture.
3. Open Gallery, delete picture taken in step 2.
4. Using Solid Explorer (or similar) navigate to /sdcard/DCIM/Camera-- picture taken in step 2 is still there.
In fact, after a reboot the picture will re-appear in Gallery. It seems that Gallery is deleting the photo from the media index, but not the actual photo on the SD Card.
Quick Google search brings up similar issues on other devices but no solution. Can someone confirm this issue, and maybe help resolve?

Hi. I use google plus's instant upload feature and share pictures sometimes with friends. It seems like my instant upload and the pictures that are shared as posts in google plus show up twice in gallery. Is there any workaround to this?
Ideas

Do you have an SD card inserted? I found that if I use burst mode on the camera, the photos must save on the local storage but when you use regular modes, they save to the SD card. Thats why I have two folders for camera shots but IDK if you have doubles. I know if photos need to be converted for upload, they make a copy in an appropriate format in a new folder. Just some ideas. Hope it helps.

Where do you see the duplicates? Right next to each other - or at the end of the Gallery folder view down below? If so, do they have the Picasa logo on each folder (the same logo seen on http://picasa.google.com/ )? If so, do this...
Settings > Accounts, Google > then tap on your account [email protected] > scroll to the bottom and uncheck Sync Picasa Web Albums.
Then...
Settings > Application Manager > scroll the tab to ALL > Gallery > Clear Data (don't worry, your photos will stay there. You're just clearing the thumbnails).
Hi, After installing Lineage 16 the default camera has changed the filepath for saved pictures. On the old build, I had a DCIM folder on my SD card and pictures were saved there. With LOS 16, when I choose to save to "internal", the camera saves the pictures to /internal/DCIM. However, if I choose to save to SD, pictures are saved in /SDcard/Android/data/org.lineageos.snap/files
In Gallery app the pictures saved on the internal storage are shown under the label "camera". The ones saved on SD are labeled "file".
Is there a way to have the pictures saved on /SDcard/DCIM as I used to have before upgrading? Is there a workaround?
I am running LOS 16 on a Samsung S5 KLTE.
Thanks in advance
I also have this issue. any fix?
mee to. sadly.
Mee too. Please fix it.
Me too
Even me and the Google Photos app does not display them in the "Photos" section
Currently on DP2. For whatever reason the photos taken on the Google Camera app are not uploading to Google Photos automatically. I've cleared data from both apps (camera & photos), but they still are only saving to my PX3. I have to manually go into Files, select each photo, and then upload to Photos myself.
Anyone else having this issue or know of another way to fix it?

Actually i just got a patch an hour ago that seems to have fixed it.
So I have tried to find the answer with no luck. How do I switch my text app, Facebook, Instagram apps to use Google photos as the default instead of Samsung photo app?
It will use both, just add a shortcut to Google Photos on your homescreen where Samsung Gallery was and use that instead
That definitely didn't solve the problem. It's just using the Samsung photo gallery, and doesn't even give me the option to make Google photos as my default.

Try setting google photos as default app for photos will do.

I am having the same issue. There's no way to change the stock Gallery app to google photos. When I had my pixel, my apps would source directly from Google Photos, and I guess I was spoiled. Even if a photo wasn't downloaded and I selected it to send, it would forward it after it downloaded.
It's a pretty dumb situation honestly with this phone. Your text app you can use the Google photo app, but anything else like , IG or Facebook you have to go into Google photos app and download it to the phone so the picture you want to post goes into the stupid Samsung gallery. I bought the app that someone had suggested to disable the Samsung gallery app and it didn't work. Also when you disable the app, it effects other apps on the phone, so you are pretty much screwed. Besides the fingerprint scanner, I think this whole, not being able to just use the Google photo app as default for everything is the next biggest ****ty thing about this phone. I still love the phone, but you pay the big bucks and you still have to deal with issues like this, when phones half the price offer these two things better. Oh well I guess?
