Hi. I use google plus's instant upload feature and share pictures sometimes with friends. It seems like my instant upload and the pictures that are shared as posts in google plus show up twice in gallery. Is there any workaround to this?
Ideas

Do you have an SD card inserted? I found that if I use burst mode on the camera, the photos must save on the local storage but when you use regular modes, they save to the SD card. Thats why I have two folders for camera shots but IDK if you have doubles. I know if photos need to be converted for upload, they make a copy in an appropriate format in a new folder. Just some ideas. Hope it helps.

Where do you see the duplicates? Right next to each other - or at the end of the Gallery folder view down below? If so, do they have the Picasa logo on each folder (the same logo seen on http://picasa.google.com/ )? If so, do this...
Settings > Accounts, Google > then tap on your account [email protected] > scroll to the bottom and uncheck Sync Picasa Web Albums.
Then...
Settings > Application Manager > scroll the tab to ALL > Gallery > Clear Data (don't worry, your photos will stay there. You're just clearing the thumbnails).

I believe you need to be connected to the internet to view the photos unless you enable offline viewing in settings of the gallery which will just download them. I don't think you can fit all your photos unfortunately
What does sync do then? ??
Hi, I just have a quick question.
My Note II Gallery app syncs with Photos in my Dropbox (i.e., any picture file in my Dropbox shows up in my Gallery) which is great and all, but when I have the Camera Upload feature activated, it also syncs those photos (which I took using my Note II), making their presence in my Gallery kinda redundant.
Is there any way for the photos in my Camera Upload folder not to sync with my Note II's Gallery? Thanks!
Yes. Go to Settings -> Cloud. You can disable syncing for Images and Videos separately.
have camera and gallery set up to automatically upload to Google Photos when on wi-fi. this works fine: i can see the same images on Photos on my G6 as in a desktop browser, photos.google.com.
but photos.google.com, if i delete a photo, i get a dialogue box -- "Items moved to the bin will be removed from Your Google Photos library, All your synced devices, etc." -- but the photo stays in Google Photos on my G6.
it's as though the phone is synced to upload, but not synced when deleted?
anyone have this issue?

Maybe because it is still in the Gallery App and saved in the device?

dunno what's happening.
- Gallery is showing eight images
- Photos is showing nine images
- photos.google.com is showing six images
i would think that the Photos app and photos.google.com would at least sync, right?
I need clarification on photos I take on my Pixel 2XL backup process and keeping them in Albums.
I have noticed if I take a pic on my Pixel 2XL it shows it is being backed up then will show “Back-up Complete”. Where is this mystery ‘backup’? Also, if I take a pic, upload it to an album in Google Photos and then delete the pic from the phone, the pic is also deleted from the album! What am I missing here?!?! I want the pic off my phone but still kept in the album within Google Photos.
Yes you are right. Pixel using photos for backup. Phone and photos server try to be sync.
If you delete a pic from your phone with the "galery" or with the photos app It will delete the photo from the server too. and vice versa.
If you want to remove pic from your phone and keep it in the photos. (https://photos.google.com/) you have to go to:
Photos - settings - Back up& Sync. Make sure it is tunerd ON
Then go to Free up device storage
Pictures will be removed from the phone but will be stored with original quality @ https://photos.google.com/
I hope this is what you ask for.
Many thanks! Worked perfectly. Damn I love this phone lol!!!
Every time that I take a screenshot using my Oppo A52, the Google Photos automatically saves this screenshot to my main camera folder in Google Photos. It's annoying that I have many screenshots crowding the actual photos taken with my camera.
For my previous phones (Motorola g5 plus and Huawei P30), screenshots are automatically saved to the Screenshots folder in Google Photos, and doesn't appear in the main camera folder, where only photos taken with the camera are shown. Does anyone know how I can make this happen with my Oppo A52 ? My Google Photos app on my Oppo A52 doesn't even have a Screenshots folder.
When I googled this to try and find some solutions, some websites suggested downloading a third party app, but I think that's unnecessary given that the other older phones can automatically save screenshots to the screenshots folder without using any third party app.
Can someone please help me, it's annoying that I need to manually delete a screenshot every time that I take a screenshot, in order to prevent screenshots crowding my main camera folder in Google Photos.
Thanks for your help.
I don't think there's an option unfortunately. Only thing I've seen is to use an app called PinSync.
