I have a problem like you. I wanted to upgrade my phone to the latest 5.1.1 firmware and updted it with fastboot, then installed custom recovery TWRP 2.8.7.0 . after that I performed full installation of 5.1.1 based roms and they all went till starting apps, optimizing apps from 0 to 159 but when it was over it rebooted and still remained doing the same . I had done nandroid backup before I made the update and run it on 5.1.1 firmware . the phone booted normally but it crashed and when I locked the screen and then wanted to unlock it the phone rebooted itself . As I didn't find anything over XDA or etc . I flashed firmware 1.30.617.32 ( mine is unlocked/developer version) and installed android lollipop 5.0.2 . it works awesome now but still searching for the reason why I am not able to update it to 5..1.1 .
I have solved my problem and now I have fully functional 5.1.1 version.

Hello
I bought my phone , and os is an asian version i checked with "fastboot getvar version-main" , and the version is 2.17.707.3 , for it i find RUU
RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_S_hTC_Asia_WWE_2.17.707.3_Radio_2.1204.135.20_release_278245_signed.exe , but i need an European version stock version to install , is possible ?
Thank you A LOT for Helping , sorry if my post is repeating , i could not find a similar one
Only if you unlock the bootloader or, if already have SuperCID or S-Off (unlikely).
Mike1986 has a completely stock 2.17.401 ROM in the dev section (not Android Revolution HD) which can be flashed if you are unlocked.
Thank You
Thank you for help BenPopeI , my phone i unlocked , but I'm not sure if this it means that bootloader is unlocked , stock 2.17.401 ROM , this ROM is original stock , has no bugs ? and after this is possible to make updates ? and how to find it , i searched no results , maybe I'm not searching correctly , i need just a clean ROM , that has European languages , and no Asian keyboards , Thank you Sorry for my English
The ROM I was referring to is this one.

You cannot use ruu method. Ruu must match your cid.
You can flash ROM but need to unlock bootloader first. Please read the sticky threads in development forum

S-off, that's not even possible with a hox atm. Though why would some think it would happen?
And if it would be possible, how would we go about turning the security off?

I said "If already have S-Off". Some phones come that way (very few, hence why I said unlikely), and a handful have been converted, but it requires rare hardware and even more rare files.

Unfortunately its not possible. Also if you use mikes rom check that its set up for OTA updates as I dont think it is. You would need to flash a new version when it came out.

Hello and welcome!
Let's have a look if I can help you out just a bit.
1) you still can receive OTA when bootloader is unlocked. As long as you have a stock recovery installed.
2) sorry can't tell. Maybe just ask in the Viper developer thread. As I don't have a dual SIM version, I'm cannot check it myself.
3) new firmware can just be installed if it comes with an OTA, but not by flashing it, as long as you are not S-Off.
Hope it helps. Hit "Thanks" if it does.

TWRP is custom recovery. You need stock recovery to install an OTA. Find the right stock recovery for your CID and stock software number here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2701376

Yeah your system is not stock. Make backups of what you need in the future and do exactly as the thread tells you in order to return to stock via a new stock backup which is probably available there (or a ruu in some cases)

I won't know.... What CID do you have? Mr Hofs asked this previously and I'm yet to see anything from your side. If you're on International WWE then the update is not yet out for your device. If you have Asian WWE then the update *might* be out for your device, either way we won't know. Share some info on what device you have.
In the first post you mentioned you received the OTA for your device... If you don't get it now then try to do a factory reset and see if you can get it afterwards. Though it would still help a lot to know what device you have. So get adb on your PC and in bootloader mode use the command: fastboot getvar all and share the info, just delete the IMEI and Serial number.

Sprint device? Didn't think you'd have a Sprint one, thought you were from the Ukraine going by your flag choice etc.
Either way, 4.4.4 is the latest for Sprint devices, the Lollipop update is still in 2(Integration) stage so it has some ways to go still before lollipop.

Actually i am from Turkey but I live in Ukraine so my situation - its a little complicated Yes sprint device but what is the difference between the other devices M8 and sprint M8 ? And the seller told me the device from USA.
So my device never will get the lollipop ? Or I have to be patience

Well it looks like you've been getting OTA updates so far, so you should be able to get it when Lollipop is released, whenever that is.
Sprint - CDMA device (Verizon as well).
Other M8s - GSM Devices.
You can look up the main differences between the two with a quick google search.
It's American device yes. It would perhaps have been better if they had the Developer Edition or Unlocked Edition from the US instead of a carrier specific(Sprint) device which runs on different technologies(Radios) for their networks. Generally you won't be able to us a CDMA device "just anywhere" where as GSM is Global. Like I said though, you can get the whole explanation with a simple Google search though.
yes i have been getting OTA update. Patience or custom rom .
I can wait for it I think .
And i dont know my device is unlocked edition or developer edition but i use my phone normally i put a nano sim and the network works very well.
I have searched it and get the main idea thank your very much
Hello all,
Sorry if this seems obvious, I've lost several hours looking for an answer and where to download the correct ROMs/right actions to do.
I use to have Android Lollipop on my phone (ARHD, dont remeber which version) and I tried to install ARHD 20.0 (MM) yesterday.
Manage to upgrade TWRP to 2.8.7.0 and manage to flash the ROM.
But, as mentioned in a very close post, MM firware isn't compatible.
Phone now stay stuck on bootloader screen.
I tried RUU update but it didn't work (bootloader is unlocked)
I then tried to lock my bootloader but fastboot/adb can't detect device (also went from W7 OS to W10 OS...) no clue why...
It seems I can't enter Fastboot mode (doesn't show on the screen, maybe it's normal).
And adb doesn't detect device properly.
Phone is S-ON so can't flash firmware directly.
Heard I should go back to ARHD14.0 but can't find any download link.
So here I am asking for help

That TWRP version is not recommended for latest rom versions. Use the latest one (TWRP 2.8.7.1-CPTB-Beta-1).
You need the Android M firmware if you want to flash Android M Sense-Roms. With S-ON you need to wait until HTC distributes the update for you SKU (which it hasn't done until now as far as I know). Btw: The firmware version you're using is more than outdated. With that version your M9 is still suffering the infamous heat problems. Nevertheless since several sources (Llabtoofer, HTC UK) hint that the Android M updates might arrive during the next week I would recommend getting back to stock (here's the needed RUU; instructions how to flash can be found in my signature), updating your phone to the latest LP firmware but waiting for the official update before reflashing a custom rom or rerooting your phone.
Which version of the M9 do you have? Also, can you get into your custom recovery?

M9 version: no clue.
Custom recovery: yes.
According to your firmware version and the fact that your phone is S-ON you own a HIMA_UHL (MID: 0PJA10000) which is branded by Orange France.

It's an SFR phone... Could it be Orange branded? Kinda weird.
But OK thanks
I don't know the relations between French providers but it's theoretically possible that SFR and Orange share the same firmware on the M9. Anyway the SKU 73 belongs to Orange France.

hello friend i need help :crying:
before update i was make root and stuck recovery for htc one m8 dual sim
and worked ok
but when the update 6.0 come i make it from ota update . after finish updating
the device stopped on htc start and no connect to pc
i try make format on bootloder and from recovery also not work
also i try put ruu zip rom in sd card not work
plz help me >>> thank
Simple reason - update will never work on a rooted stock ROM. You need a non-rooted (never rooted) stock ROM which you're supposed to make a backup before you start rooting it. Restore that non-rooted backup and its stock recovery then redo the update.
should i make backup befor
