Hello guys,
First post as I am curious to repair my OPO to the highest standard possible keeping it as close to original as I can. (Also looking to unlock bootloader/root/install colour os camera amongst other things!)
Any way I cant do any of that until I have a new screen, woke up about a month a go to a random crack on my phone screen.. so my question is what screen/midframe combo are you using? And how does it compare to the original screen?
I have been reading about this for so long I have almost got to the point where I am unsure if it is worth it anymore every single replacement seems to have one problem or another.
I am looking for the original speaker grill. (Can use the one on broken screen if this is doable?)
The capacitive buttons to work and light up properly. (Apparently a lot of the replacemnts have dimmer buttons.)
And of course the most imortant is touch sensitivity and colour. (I would like this to be on par with the original OPO screen.)
Apparently some of the replacement screens are also missing the oloephobic layer, im not to sure if there is any dtruth behind this though.
Any help at all will be very much appreciated!
Thanks, Luke.
I would like some opinions on this too. Oleophobic layer wouldn't be a problem for me as I use a tempered glass screen protector. Likewise don't care about the capacitive buttons as I prefer onscreen ones.

Hi guys,
I'm thinking about buying one of these to try:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Privacy-...AU_MobilePhoneAccessories&hash=item2a160c910e
Has anyone had any experience with this type of screen protector.
It's not that I have anything to hide on my phone....I think it would prob look kinda cool
I have a vikuiti one on my HTC HD2 and it worked pretty well if you had the screen in portrait mode, someone either side would pretty much just see black. BUT someone standing in front looking down would see clearly. So the privacy works only in one plane of view. Screen clarity was reasonably good from the direct on viewing angle though bright sun made it harder to see, but the HD2 didn't have amoled. It's lasted pretty well, almost 2 years and has collected a few scratches, no issues with touch input either.
I did get a replacement, can't recall the brand but came as a set of 2 or 3, lower cost and "clearer" rather than seeming to have a tint. Didn't work very well, screen image was ok but it impaired touch input a lot, loss of sensitivity and accuracy etc, so chucked it and put the old one back on.
Can't comment on the one you linked as it doesn't say what brand it is, so only way to know more would be to ask them for more details and try one out. Personally I'd say beware of the cheaper ones though.

Hello, found a few scratches on my Xperia Arc screen and got very disappointed, I thought it had scratch resistant screen, later I took a close look to the screen and found out that it had one more screen layer, could anyone tell me if it can be removed or not, because when I asked SE support team, the operator told me that it can be removed, I just wont a suggestion, help guys.
I would not touch that layer it is part of the capacitive sensor on the screen if I'm not mistaken
yeah, I'm afraid of that too, but support team convinced me in opposite
Yes, you can remove it without problems. I did it in December without problems so far.

how did you remove it? any suggestions to peel it off? It's a bit hard to do that ( with nails )
With my nails
It takes a while to pick up a corner, but once you got a corner picked up it's easy.

Part of capacitive sensor ?? Lol
Anyways..it's just a screen protector..if got scratched,replace it with a new one..
And in this case,i would suggest you to seek some professional help as you might end up making new scratches in order to remove the protector. It's a tough job and needs a lot of love and care d(^_^)
Thank you all, I did it, it really was a screen protector, if found layer like this on your arc , you should peel it off, as a result you get Better colors, touchscreen enhancement and sharper image.
I dont think that we should remove the screen guard. SE provides two screen guards with the handset. One comes already pasted on ur handset and other comes in the box. we need not remove it as it keeps the main screen safe from scratches..
I really agree with your, but that screen protector makes touchpad less sensitive and colors are less vivid, so I prefer being extra careful with my phone then looking at Less Attractive screen
Last time I checked the screen protector I have on doesn't change the quality, clearness or the color of the display. Just saying.
Protect your screen with one. Most of them now a good and leave your screen feeling normal.
i know its an old question but anyway i have one question.how hard is it to peel of the screen protector? im trying it right now and im afraid of braking something, should i force it off or what?
It is glued there so you may have to use some force to peel it off.

Dear all,
just got my Find 7a a week ago and being previous hardcore Samsung Galaxy S(S/S3) user for long years I am not impressed with the phone. I do believe most of the issues comes from the firmware itself(ColorOS is far from being brilliant) but there are two things that annoys the crap out of me.
First the one which is not such a big deal and I can live with it is capacitative buttons are really poorly backlit and visually nonexistent during the broad daylight.
But the second one is something which I can not live with and therefore I am planning to return my Find 7a to the seller tomorrow - touchscreen inaccurate responsiveness/precision/lag. There is no issue scrolling up/down/left/right but the problem arises whan the small tweak has to be done and cursor/pointer needs to be moved just a tiny little up/down/left/right - the touchscreen basicaly do not register any tiny movements. The perfect application to try is game - "8 Ball Pool" where adjusting the aim by just a little is impossible(while on my old and beaten Galaxy S and S3 its absolutely no problem and is precise like a sniper). Would there be anyone willing to install the game and try if its general problem of Find 7a screen or is it just my piece? I was even thinking of removing the factory-installed screen protector if it has any influence but I'm afraid that seller may not accept the unit back if I remove it.
I would appreciate your comments/experiences on the issue I described and possible solutions if any.
Many thanks and with kind regards,
Tomas
Ok, just decided to remove the oppo pre-installed screen protective plastic and it was the smartest decision I could do. I installed a new anti-glare one and not only most of the annoying glares are perfectly gone, but as well the grease from the fingers is sticking to the film far far less then before. And screen responsiveness and precision improved too. Definitely can recommend removing the factore preinstalled screen protector - its a lousy one anyway!
Hello everyone.
The LCD of my S3 was broken so I ordered a replacement screen on eBay.
It arrived and I replaced it without incident. (It was an LCD + Frame + digitizer assembly)
But after a couple hours I noticed that the LCD is a couple of millimeters smaller on each side.
It is really not noticeable on first sight. The first days I dismissed it because it was something that didn't bug me too much.
But I noticed that I keep mistyping when I'm using the keyboard. Also I keep missing other onscreen buttons and it drives me insane!
I think this is because the digitizer is made for a larger LCD.
First I thought that it was a software problem, but you can see the borders even when the display is off.
I tried taking a picture and you can definitely see it on the left and the bottom border.

Should I ask for an RMA? Or am I seeing ghosts here??
Love to hear your thoughts.
That s not an SAMSUNG OEM LCD Display.. Look at capacitive buttons color...

If you look at the spacing the Samsung logo at both the top and bottom, there is an extra bit of space and as you rightly said, the bezels on the sides are a bit thicker. If it gives you peace of mind, then go for the RMA, but chances are you might end up getting the same thing. Maybe you could try a different seller? Where did you purchase it from?

Yeah probably not
The capacitive buttons are the normal white color. In the picture they are not on.

Touch function Not working
Hi,
I am using Galaxy S3 Korean Version (SHV-E210L).
I have tried TraingleAway V2.35 to reset flash counter. But it did not reset flash counter, but damaged touch function. Now my phone display is working, but touch function is not working. I am using OTG cable with Mouse for urgent works.
I have two things which i need answer. Can some one help me.. ::crying:
1. Before i fix this, i need to reset flash counter anyway. But latest versions of TraingleAway are not working for this model and Previous versions from V2.35 is also give massge stating "Are you not using ICS". Phone has Android 4.3. So can some one give me a solution?
2. I want to fix touch problem and i search for digitizer in Ebay. But there are digitizers for GT-I9300, but not for SHV-E210L? Is digitizer for 9300is compatible for SHV-E210L? Further waht is screen lens means? Is it digitizer?
Thanks a lot

Hi, that's about the price I paid for supposedly genuine (but not) screens on ebay for my S3, my buttons are also not white as mentioned above.
The first screen I fitted went faulty after about an hour, took a while to get a refund, I had to pay postage back.
Second screen cracked after a very small drop, digitiser was OK, bought replacement screen but when changing it (with heat, etc) the digitiser separated from its backing rather than the screen.... maybe me being ham fisted but I think it was a different bonding used
Third screen/digitiser assembly now has a crack running right across it, and I've not ever dropped it! It still works so I'm leaving it alone and buying a new phone this time.
Also I find the paint comes off the frame very easily by taking it out of a hard case or screen mount and mine looks a mess after a couple of months, and the frame joint is obvious and creaks when pressed.
So these screen aren't very good - but I couldn't find a definitely genuine screen for a price that was worth bothering to fix the phone.... I would definitely get a tempered glass protector if I did fit another of these.....

Hi, I bought 3 different OPO screen replacements at Aliexpress. As you said, the quality is so different. The first one was simply very pale and dark, the second one is the screen itself is OK, but touch screen and cable was so fragile. Te last one is completely fine. This is not the original, but if you just use it, you don't see the difference.

They offer the screen with and without the frame. ( Some said with the frame is easier for the beginner) I myself bought a screen without the frame. then you may need a double side tape (2mm) like below.

There are many instructions at youtube. But I used the below.

You may have already replaced yours, but as other poster said, quality is a crap shot sometimes.
First one I bought from Amazon. Great packaging and looked great, but frame was 1mm to wide, so volume buttons were permanently depressed (so each reboot went to recovery). Returned that one.
Bought another from eBay here, frame is PERFECT size. Screen has a slightly blue hue, but not noticeable really. No tools come with this one, so you need a pry tool and screw drivers.
Word of caution, the internal antenna can break very easily if you are not VERY careful when disassembling. Additional antennas are here. I recommend getting a couple.
Hi! I need a replacement screen as well, because a stripe in the middle of mine stopped working.
After tons of research on Aliexpress i don't know which one to decide between these 2:
1) https://it.aliexpress.com/item/Orig...ml?spm=a2g0o.cart.99999999.259.30453c00U4QgqW
This one costs almost twice the others, but i contacted the seller and he said it's an original one (don't know how much i can trust him).
2) https://it.aliexpress.com/item/Tras...ml?spm=a2g0o.cart.99999999.259.30453c008Kl1tr
This one has same price as most of the other screens and has lots of good reviews, but i know it must be a clone.

I also looked into this one but i saw several reviews about dead pixels so i discarded it.
Anyone who bought any screen, share your experience please!!!

I have attached screen samples. OPO original, low quality and good quality replacement from Aliexpress. I don't think that you will get the origianl OEM screen replacement from Aliexpress.
It seems that Replacebase (UK supplier) sells the OEM (original) screen replacement for OPO. I haven't tested this screen, but their OPO red battery is really great. (See XDA forum discussion)
