Hello, I bought yesterday an unlocked Htc M8, european version(i live in Europe) and after every reboot, after i enter the pin, i have to toggle the airplane mode on/off to get signal, after that it's all ok, no signal drops or anything, i also have a moto g and with the same SIM i have no problems, i thought the phone is locked or something, but thanks to some tips on an article from Android Authority the solution was to toggle the airplane mode, what could be the problem? i have no warranty and thought to ask here maybe someone has had this issue, thanks
solved, manual roam

I have the same issue , it happened when I flashed an AOSP based Rom...
Each time I reboot there is no signal but after toggling airplane mode it works...
How did you reolve it?
Try this:
Manually Search for a Network:
From the home screen, tap the Applications icon.
Scroll to and tap Settings.
Tap Mobile data.
Tap Network operators.
Tap Search networks.
Wait whilst the handset searches for available networks.
Tap the required network.
The network has been manually selected.

I have a galaxy nexus
ROM : XenonHD 4.2.2 (tried Stock 4.2.2 for 2 weeks)
Baseband : 19250XXLJ1 (was on earlier ones as well)
Kernel : Stock
Location : Bangalore(India)
Connection : TataDoCoMo
My internet (primarily using 2g, sometimes 3g) and it drops very often.
To enable it, the below steps does NOT word:
1. Toggling flightmode
2. Restart mobile
Only one step works (75% success)
Manually search for network and select network automatically and sometimes to manually select the network.
Please help.
Update: (Strict 2g mode enabled)
I've been sitting in my seat since posting the previous post. Checked my internet and i do not have data connection. Gonna enable it now.
Even manual selection of network dint give me data connection after waiting for 5 mins.
Enabled and disabled flight mode - waited for 5 mins - no go.
Gonna restart and check - last option - no go.
Now i disabled data - strangely, i lost signal for a few second.
Enabled data again - waited for 2 mins - and walah it came.
I dont know on what basis the internet comes and goes like this. It is not humanely possible to do all these steps, just to get the internet enabled. Can anyone help me from this plight.
Can anyone please offer some advice?
You can change rom, and check if it will be fixed.
What kind of network strength do you see in “Status“ page in settings? Post a screenie.
Try a different ROM to be sure it isn‘t a network fault.

I tried a lot of methods and this worked finally. Am on latest radio release I9250XXLJ1. Browse and install it if you are not on it.
Dialed *#*#4636#*#*
selected "Testing"
Selected "Phone Information"
Scrolled down and set the option of "Set preferred network type" as GSM auto (PRL)
Noticed change in GSM Service, GPRS service.
Next time, this dint work tried the below method and finally worked.
At the bottom right corner, the properties option indicated by 3 perpendicular dots took me to change Radio Band.
I tried with the first 5 option with no network coverage and finally AUS Band started giving me uninterrupted data signal.
Success...
Hi, I have an Xperia Play R800x and I flashed the xElite Gamer ROM today, and I noticed that in my notifications, there's an ongoing notification that says "No Service, Network not available" and leaves a red triangle with an exclamation point in my notification bar. After looking through stuff, I noticed the ROM is meant for GSM, and I have the CDMA Xperia, so network does not work, but I don't have a plan (I just use WiFi), so I put it in Airplane Mode and turned on WiFi, and that still doesn't make it go away.
Is there anyway to make it go away? I'm running xElite Gamer with the LuPuS kernel.

Hi. As far as I know, Airplane Mode disables Wi-Fi too. So, try disabling it and then turn on Wi-Fi.

That's what I already do. It doesn't fix it
I have this exact same issue. Is it possible to remove the notification all together?

After many calls to T Mobile about the lollipop update breaking my WiFi Calling. You know, not enabling. Here is a work around.
1. Go to Settings >> Networks and tap Airplane Mode while WiFi is on.
2. Wait for Airplane Mode to go from being grayed out to bold.
3. Enable WiFi. Wait for the connections to be made.
4. Disable Airplane Mode. And wait a few seconds.
WiFi calling will enable.

Now... are you talking about ONLY the OTA update from 4.4 to 5.0? Or like autoprimes unicron
That would be the OTA update.
Will try this on wife's phone tonight. In running the Unicron build on mine... She won't let me "mess around" with hers, LOL
Let is know if this works.
The only issue I get is WiFi calling goes out at some times...disabling and reenabling WiFi does the trick
I'm new to the TMO G3, but I'm running stock, debloated ROM and can also confirm this works. Thanks for the tip!
Sent from my LG-D851 using XDA Free mobile app
Ive noticed a lot of people asking here and there about wifi calling. Ive gotta ask why is it such a needed feature? Is it for lack of service in some situations? Because i never use it and don't really see the point.
Wifi calling

I confirm this method works
any chance of porting wifi calling to AOSP roms ? as it is now available on t-mobile nexus6?
Hi,
I have a really annoying issue and thats the missing option to turn of the 2.4GHz band. Corporate network usually broadcast all bands on the same SSID and I cant select whether I want to use the 2.4GHZ or 5GHZ band.
How can I go about changing this?
Heres a thread for the Samsung S3 that lost the same setting just to clarify what I need:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...p-wifi-band-switcher-switch-2-4ghz-5-t1891970
I'm using a rooted stock rom.
And don't suggest changing the "router" setting since were not talking about routers here, were talking Cisco APS on large corporations where they are broadcasting on the same SSID. And I'm looking for a mod to the phone so I can turn of the 2.4GHz band to verify I only can use the 5GHz band.
I think this was present somewhere prior to the Lollipop update.
So please help, Its just amazing to see that noone have had this request before since this is a network setting applied to most large corporations and in areas where the 2.4GHz bands are clogged with signals you need to force 5GHz... I have seen the request for other platforms but not the LG G3.
Go select advanced settings and select WiFi frequency.

That doesn't exist. Due to that fact I'm in need of help =)
What about you change your ROM? I'm using 5.1.1 and it has that option.
---------- Post added at 06:49 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:45 PM ----------
There is an app called WiFi roaming fix in google play search and find it give it a try
I would lpve to use another rom but from what i read there isnt any that can make the camera work to its full potential.
But ill try that app tomorrow and see how it works once it detexts multiple AP's and multiple bands on the same SSID.

There were no settings in that app that prevents my phone from using 2.4GHz network. It was just basically saying how many APs there were on the current network and a setting to chose the one with best signal. 2.4GHz usually have better signal since that frequency penetrates material better then 5GHz and I want 5GHz only to try.
I am using Cyanogen ROM, and they have that option to select AUTO, 2.4 or 5.
STOCK ROM doesn't....=(

Thats exactly what I want. I would love to run Cyanogen but everyone says the camera cant deliver as LG stock. But you would think its not that hard to add the feature since its present everywhere except most stock ROMs. Seems like more manufacturers then LG removed the option when updates came to stock ROMs.
I have noticed that my WiFi turns on after every reboot. Most of the time it will turn off on its own but a few times it hasnt. I have the smart switch disabled along with other various things via package disabler.
Does anyone know what is causing this?
might be the scan for wifi setting in connectivity, I always have it in off, to save battery, and because I only use 3 networks, I dont use open ones, only trusted ones, so no need for having that setting on
If you have location turned on, it may be turning on wifi long enough to take a peek at the local networks available, which contribute to coarse location.

By the way, you can adjust this in Settings / Connections / Location / Locating method
