DISCONTINUE - [ROM][UNOFFICIAL][NIGHTLY][NL] HTC One X CyanogenMod 12.1 - HTC One X

Because the CM team does not provide official nightly build for our pets (read HOX ), I decided that the nightly build I will simulate a very often compilation of source code from CM repo.
I can not guarantee regular publishing, but usually 1 times a week I make a compilation and here I will post the download link.
Important notification:
Please keep in mind that I am not a developer and any errors that may occur can not be repaired by me. Your feedback in this thread will have a single meaning - information for others in what condition the ROM is.
These unofficial nightly build will be available only for the new partition layout.
I will not attach any change logs.
I personally use these nightly builds as my daily driver.
The installation procedure is the same as in other HOX ROM, so that I will not be described again.

You ask me once already. I'm really not a developer and have no free time to studiing all about android programming as I wrote in my first post of this thread. I will only syncing CM repository with their changes and build it for our HOX's. That's it.

ok thanks sorry

i was using a build from teemo and just flashed this over it and from what ive noticed and confirmed. this rom is smoother and scored about another 200-300 points in the multi-core score in geekbench. Everything loads a little quicker and smoother.
Edit: audio and music no longer stutters when changing apps or moving through the phone.

Good to know my changes are working
@milda25 you should put in OP a link to sources

@Demetris of course, will do it, but what do you mean "link to sources"? I'm only exercise monkey without a broader knowledge

Dirty flash?
Any problems dirty flashing the 08/08 version over the 31/07 version? I normally do a full wipe and re-flash to keep things nice and clean, however the ActiveSync Exchange policy at work has changed and it means I need to raise a ticket each time I connect a new device and its a bit of a pain....
Cheers
Andy

[ROM][NIGHTLY-BUILDS][CM9]Bug-thread of cm9 Kang-builds

Bugs, issues and Discussions about Kang-builds (aka nightly-builds) of Te4m CM9 project belong here and ONLY HERE
To official DEVELOPERS-thread
To official general discussion-thread
This is the right place to report bugs and issues and discuss about the different builds, especially, but not only, the ones downloaded from
http://android.spike1985.de.
Use a download manager!
You can also announce/promote your own builds here. Please do not forget to mention where people can get them. Also a list of improvements/changes and known NEW issues would be nice to help ppl.
You can also send me requests to host YOUR builds on android.spike1985.de, to help making it a real nightly build and bleeding edge server. I am also willing to add a "link-list-file" to the server, if you feel uncomfortable with giving your builds away.
I will not publish a list of builds announced/promoted/mentioned in here and/or hosted on my server, as I want interested ppl to have a look onto the server.
This threat has been opened on my own intention. I want to help to keep the main threats (Dev and general) a bit cleaner from bug reports of kang-builds.

a great ROM. the only thing missing: a working camera and a normal multi-touch.
@spike1985 I've tried downloading both of the roms you're hosting multiple times but each time it cancels out the download at random intervals. I have a very stable connection so are you experiencing extraordinarily high demand and is there possibly another place these builds are hosted? I'd love to give these babies a shot
thank you spike 1985. Rom is excellent, very quick and smooth, I feel like using the dual-core device. Expect updates in the near future.
congratulations
Hey Spike just one quick question. I see you own a GT-P1000 ... can I use the kernel from your server for the GT-P1000 or is it for a different one.
I guess the zip will be flashable, right?

Support
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has addressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our website. Carbon FAQ
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
4) Ask a question on our IRC channel. Connect to #teamcarbon on irc.freenode.net or click here. You'll find several other Carbon fans and usually one or more devs as well. Please be polite.
Who is Team Carbon?

Remember, every penny you send to us goes right back into the rom. It's used for hardware, server costs, etc - all the things that help us make Carbon better with every release. It never occurred to me to check to see if there was something I needed to add in to the device files to support changing the runtime.
EDIT: I'll check to see if the lines are in the build target. I always err on the side of caution and ART wasn't a concern since this was a build for me.
EDIT 2: Testing ART support now.
EDIT 3: Seems to be working just fine. I'll run ART on my phone for now and test.
Thanks for the birthday present pal, I've been hoping to see this ROM for a while now!

Nice. Happy birthday.
ART support
Just a quick update on ART support. After enabling it in developer options and rebooting, things seem to be fine so far. It took a bit after switching the runtime the first reboot but after the 'upgrade' finished there were no FC's and the phone seems to be functioning normally. Any apps that have issues with ART will still have issues though obviously. Having said that, so far so good.

Hey guys,
Here is an unofficial build of the CarbonROM I made for myself and I thought I'd share since it seems to be working pretty well for me. Your mileage may vary though so please nandroid as you normally would when crack flashing. If one of the normal devs was already working on CarbonROM this wasn't me trying to step on toes. I don't intend to do this nightly, or at all if an official build is in the works.
In the meantime, enjoy.

No worries...thanks for the reply. I may flash the EliteLunar kernel since it has a few nice features that the CM kernel doesn't, but I'll agree that the CM kernel does run nice and smooth. Thanks again for the port...I hope we can keep this going until Carbon either devs for the m7 or lets someone be an official maintainer. Carbon has been my favorite ROM since its inception.

I'll keep my eyes on the changelog. Now that I've got everything set up it's no big deal to build a ROM now and again when the changes warrant it until an official port.

[Q] Compile kernel

I thought of developing a kernel so that i can use it with my CM11 that im going to port shortly. I thought I'll compile the stock kernel from source itself. I use android pre-built tool chain (arm-eabi-4.6)
I get a lot of compiler errors on stock kernel without any modifications itself...
Do i need to change my tool chain?
Sent from my One V using XDA Free mobile app
I never tried to build the stock kernel, but I think they did it with the android 4.0 toolchain.
To run CM, you need a CM-Kernel. You have to port things from the stock or a custom kernel (like Hellboy by maxwen) to the cm11 kernel.
Try to use rastomanchiks kernel sources (https://github.com/rastomanchik/android_kernel_htc_primou). This kernel is mostly working, stable and has a good battery life now.
I'd also like to build cm11, but my download speed is to slow to download the sources.
Exactly. Even my download speed is slow. And i have a cap also. After 8GB, my download speed drastically decreases. It takes ages to sync the sources...
Sent from my One V using XDA Free mobile app
How different is Cm kernel from stock? I mean what changes should i make?

Cm needs many features which aren't included in the stock kernel and also you should get ION memory allocator working.

I can't help you with porting, because all the porting work was done by rastomanchik and I chatted with him. You'd have to ask him about this, but he wasn't online the last weeks and can't speak english without google translator.

Actually I insist on porting myself so that I can learn building properly.
Actually these things are also interesting.. fixing bugs and all...
Have series of exams till May end. I cant build properly until then. I thought why not learn something..
Where did you learn about building and other stuff. Also I want to build the device tree on my own.
If you could specify some sources to learn, that would be grateful!

This is exactly the same point of view I had when I started some months ago
Sadly, there isn't much documentation about own device trees and own kernels out there.
There also is no reference device tree, so every dev does it in his own way. I'm always trying to have a clean, easy device tree and use the CM ones as a reference.
You can find some tutorials about building cm, but only with downloading a ready-to-use device config and kernel.
I just played around with it one or two weeks and learned the most.
If you have enough time, please at least try to get into this stuff, maybe we can get cm12 running.
You can reach me on irc in the channel #hov on freenode.

I have sufficient time only after May. Till then I'll have to do some research and learn the basics.
I saw on the CM wiki page, it says you can run a prebuilt kernel also... So would it work if we could tweak the stock kernel a bit?
And how do I apply patches to the kernel?

Yes you can use a prebuilt kernel, but it will only work if the kernel supports you cm version.
You apply patches to a kernel by changing files or directories in the kernel. For example you can use another fs module (maybe with more functions) by copy and pasting the folder for the module from another kernel. The problem is, the new module may require some functions your kernel does not have so it won't compile.

Unofficial Dirty Unicorns v 10.6, Marshmallow 6.0.1 (9-11-16)

About Dirty Unicorns:
Dirty Unicorns is a project that started out with no name. It was a project that was first based off AOKP back in the early days of Jelly Bean. In the early days it was just a one man show on one device, the EVO 3D. Since then, many others have joined the project and it has grown exponentially.
We have seen a lot of talent contribute to this project of ours. Big or small, the focus was always on contributing to the community. That is ultimately why we do what we do. After Jelly Bean, we decided to move to a new base, OmniROM. While AOKP was fun, OmniROM proved to be even more exciting base because it challenged us to see what we could do with a project that had different goals in mind. We learned a lot and again, gain contributors. With Lollipop, we moved to an AOSP base with a lot of patches from CAF to make our older devices function as they should. We grew even more and learned a whole lot more.
It has been an awesome learning experience and is still not over! We are still learning every day and continue to move forward. Lastly, we DO NOT accept, nor ask, for donations. We don't believe in that. Everything that is necessary to keep this project going is out of our own pocket. Gerrit, Jenkins, Websites, Devices, etc. We will never ask for a dime. All we do ask, is that you have patience, search, read and try to enjoy the process with us!!
Flashing Instructions:
- Verify that you're using the latest version of TWRP
- Perform a FULL WIPE as described below if coming from another ROM or a different version of Android
(A full wipe is when you wipe system/data/cache)
- Flash the latest version of this ROM
- If desired, flash Khaon's partition resizer, http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-10/development/mod-reclaim-free-space-partition-t3029605
- Flash GAPPS of your choice. (OpenGapps micro worked for me, http://opengapps.org/)
- Reboot and ENJOY!!
**If you fail to follow these instructions, please don't bother reporting any bugs**
**If you use Xposed, please don't bother reporting any bugs**

You're welcome. The credit all belongs to DU. This is their work, I just compiled it for us while they are busy.
This is copied over from the Google+
Oh no.
Seems to have taken one of them sleeps o' death. Kid was watching YouTube and turned off the screen via power button. Came back to it a bit later and nothing. Held power and it rebooted with sixty some percent battery.

Was this a clean install? are you running xposed or any other tweak? Are you using any themes?

Definite clean install. When switching Roms I wipe everything except internal storage. Never xposed, and I run the unicorn blood on every available device. No themes either as I try to make sure all is stable.
OG moto x some ROM with the klear Kat theme is a no go.
I know the rules. I'd get a log cat, but is that possible if it sleeps like that?

This sounds like a rogue app. I would use better battery stats or a wakelock detector to see if anything is running rogue. It may have reset itself after the reboot. So, you may not see anything currently. I can say it's running perfect on my N10 and with at least 10 other downloads and no issues similar to yours, I'm guessing it's localized to your tablet. If you still have a problem I would grab a new download, verify the md5, and clean install.
I'm not sure but I believe you can get a logcat either thru fastboot or right after reboot.

I completely understand. But since I can't do it myself, without you compiling it, I wouldn't have the latest DU on my Bacon.... So for that I thank you. And so do a lot of other people. Good ...

AFH may be down. I will check again later if it's still down then I'll post a link for the rom in a different host. I will not have an chance to look into this until this afternoon.
Seems like AFH is back up if anyone is still waiting.
DU performs great and battery life is very good on Manta. I'm very happy with this build.
Thanks for sharing. :good:
I've been trying to flash this all evening. I continue to get an error flashing gapps. It keeps telling me there is insufficient space for the gapps. I was able to get one older set to flash, but FCs on the start-up wizard. Any thoughts?

Sounds like you need to flash Khaon's resize zip. Flash rom, then khaon's partition resize zip (link in op but also within this forum) , then gapps (opengapps micro is what works for me), then reboot.
new build is uploaded. link to AFH folder in op.
Clean flash with open gapps nano worked flawless...up and running buttery smooth. Thanks for your work. ☺

Hi All
Need your support to add OMS support to this ROM
. I have does somebody know how to Clone / fetch the megers to my build ...
If someone know please comment so I can release the build tomorrow
ffs what is with the //word for word// copying now
one thing to build a rom using open source code, another entirely to copy an entire thread and change some words just enough to get past your teacher's plagiarism check.

just to be clear, I never said nor insinuated that you copied my build, very difficult to do that anyway as being all open source, no one is copying anyone, simply building the same source code. Just frustrating to have ones words taken and repeated without permission, attribution or even a simple acknowledgement, and its suddenly something that has happened a lot in the past few days.
Really sorry mate ...yes I have not asked permission from you I apologizing for that ... I don't know how to create a thread while looking at your thread it was really a promising one just to start with .
I was at my work time though so just spend only few mjns for that ..
Sorry once again...
If you insist I will change the entire thread
thanks for building RR I'll keep an eye on this as it develops
Working like a dream for me. Really appreciate this.
(/w Nebula 7.0.2)
Tried to add full OMS support to my yesterdays build ... But I think I am missing some steps..
Without some devs support I think I might not be able to fix it
Finally an OMS included RR nightly has been uploaded... See the main thread for download Link...
Night mode / Live display works

@blackpanther0582 could you compile this kernel?
https://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_kernel_htc_msm8996/commits/cm-14.1-caf
OMS(meaning substrarum) I installed from the Play Store on the 12/24 build seems to work fine. Wifi cuts out at random is that the bug everyone talks about? It just puts am X in it and says connected but no internet.

Same here on both counts. Gonna install the 28th build to check it the wifi's fixed. That's literally the only bug i need fixed to be 100% daily driver. So awesome how fast CM/RR came all the sudden.
