Bugs, issues and Discussions about Kang-builds (aka nightly-builds) of Te4m CM9 project belong here and ONLY HERE
To official DEVELOPERS-thread
To official general discussion-thread
This is the right place to report bugs and issues and discuss about the different builds, especially, but not only, the ones downloaded from
http://android.spike1985.de.
Use a download manager!
You can also announce/promote your own builds here. Please do not forget to mention where people can get them. Also a list of improvements/changes and known NEW issues would be nice to help ppl.
You can also send me requests to host YOUR builds on android.spike1985.de, to help making it a real nightly build and bleeding edge server. I am also willing to add a "link-list-file" to the server, if you feel uncomfortable with giving your builds away.
I will not publish a list of builds announced/promoted/mentioned in here and/or hosted on my server, as I want interested ppl to have a look onto the server.
This threat has been opened on my own intention. I want to help to keep the main threats (Dev and general) a bit cleaner from bug reports of kang-builds.
great
Nice this thread would be helpful for people who build kangs

a great ROM. the only thing missing: a working camera and a normal multi-touch.
@spike1985 I've tried downloading both of the roms you're hosting multiple times but each time it cancels out the download at random intervals. I have a very stable connection so are you experiencing extraordinarily high demand and is there possibly another place these builds are hosted? I'd love to give these babies a shot
thank you spike 1985. Rom is excellent, very quick and smooth, I feel like using the dual-core device. Expect updates in the near future.
congratulations
Hey Spike just one quick question. I see you own a GT-P1000 ... can I use the kernel from your server for the GT-P1000 or is it for a different one.
I guess the zip will be flashable, right?

When i try to download the files "normal", the download stops after some time on x%. When i download the files with firefox and DownThemAll! it works
So you should try DownThemAll or another Download Manager.

This thread is for everyone who compile's Cyanogenmod Kang build's from source and would like to post/share with everyone. If you want your build included in this post just pm me and I will update this post asap.
Warning these are unofficial CM7 build's (with myself cherry-picking comments from CM's Gerrit for testing) which may have unfinished mods and/or broken code that is continually changing, ONLY THOSE WHO KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING SHOULD FLASH THEM. Don't file bug reports on the Cyanogenmod issue tracker from any of these build's. Please don't bother cyanogen or #teamdouche as you have been warned these build's are unofficial and come with no support except on this thread. If you have any question's try searching as your question might have been already asked and answered. Note: I, nor is anyone else is/are responsible for any bricks or problems you may encounter.
I no longer have a G2 as I gave it to my mom, but will update this periodically. Sorry for the delay I have been super busy with the move, my new job and fixing this house I am now living in.
All credit goes to cyanogen & #teamdouche, thank them not me as all I do is compile
Items from CM's Gerrit that I cherry-picked:
* Give me time
Last Commit repo synced before building-
* Enable access to Audio Effects Settings
I understand that this build is unofficial and I take no responsibility if you brick your phone- Will be update in about an hour and half as I plan on running it when I get home
Please visit @cmsrc, CM's Gerrit or Nightly Device Changelog for a complete list of changes or commits.
Also those who don't know a Kang is an unofficial nightly that someone builds from CM's github.
I will update this post as often as needed to stay current or change as necessary.
Hey everyone, here are the kangs and cherry picks that i will be providing. I want to thanks plasmadragon007 for allowing me to post here.
Everything in the above post applies to here. We will most likely be making these at a different time of day with possible different commits. I do not own a g2 but i do have a couple of decent guys willing to test each kang before posting. If they are not available, i will let you know that the build has not been tested. I do this because i enjoy it and want to. I hope you enjoy it also.
All credit goes to cyanogen & #teamdouche.

As for gapps I can not post any gapps here. (Hint Paul obrians dump of the nexus S)
Notes: I am not responsible for any bricks or problems you may encounter I am just sharing this. If you follow the step you will have 2.3.1 on your phone.
Please help the devs who put this togther for us. fix some bugs. If you know how.
so far, It seems the video has been fixed up a bit. and the wifi works. So, Far the only thing not working video cam. (which is under works so i hear)
Also. Protected apps do not show since this is 2.3.1 (You can fix this by modding your build.prop or wait for google to add 2.3.1)
Thanks and I hope you enjoy this. Please someone mirror the build. I dont think mediafire will keep it up.
If you want to see protected apps. You need to edit your build.prop in system with the following:
Code:
ro.build.description=soju-user 2.3 GRH55 79397 release-keys
ro.build.fingerprint=google/soju/crespo:2.3/GRH55/79397:user/release-keys
This is built from current src as of 30 mins ago.
So, there is a few video fixes and others.
You can read the updates at: http://r.cyanogenmod.com/#q,status:merged,n,z
I appreciate it man. I just moved and I don't have an internet connection yet. It's hard to repo sync on a 1mbps Android tether.

having problem flashing the img help
I get an assert failed error trying to flash the ROM, too bad I was really looking forward to trying CM7 .
cough..... cough http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10083640&postcount=151 cough..... cough... man I'm really sick
ABOUT THIS ROM:
This is a KANG/UNOFFICIAL CM9 version built from CM9 sources. It has some cherry-picks from Gerrit, that I find interesting and enhance the rom to be better feature wise.
I will be doing builds on daily basis (mostly on morning EU time), atleast until CM starts to rollout nightlies on normal schedule.
As I said in the beginning, this is purely been a learning experience to work with Android source and building it from the scratch.
I might be doing something completely different (own rom based on something) when I have gained more experience. If you are interested to start something, pm and let's see if we can get something out of it
WHY??
I know there are many many many CM9 roms/kangs floating around, so why did I post this? For a simple reason: It has been a learning experience for me to work with source and building android. This is my first complete android build, and I find CM9 to be a good starting point.
INCLUDED IN THIS ROM (Basic features):
- Synced to cm9 repo today 12.4.2012
- Includes all the CM9 features that have been merged until now
- Includes few cherry picks from Gerrit (see list below)
- Default CM based kernel
- The default CM9 bells and whistles
CHERRY-PICKS from CM Gerrit
- AudioManager: Handle KEYCODE_VOLUME_MUTE
- Settings: Notification light(LED) settings
- NavigationBar : Customization+ Settings
- Make the flash off indicator visible
- Makes network mode toggle work. Port from CM7.
- camera: allow setting parameter "video-size" before recording starts
- MMS: Make notifications consistent with the Gapps'.
- Phone: Disable accelerometer sensor while in-call and screen UI is off
- Fix don't interrupt ongoing PIN/PUK verification
Install instructions (first install):
1) Download zip to your phone
2) Also download GAPPS from http://goo.im/gapps
3) Boot to CWM
4) DO A FULL WIPE IN RECOVERY (a must if you are coming from another rom)
5) Flash the ROM .zip
6) Flash GAPPS .zip
7) Reboot
8) PROFIT???
About updating:
It should be safe to do "dirty flashes" between builds, unless I say otherwise. But ofcourse if you run to problems between builds, do a wipe first (use f.ex TiBu to backup apps) and try again. It's always possible that some feature gets broken or some cherry-pick ****s up things....but hey these are nightlies right?
To users/flashers
It would be nice if you could test this, and if you have some features found on Gerrit what you would like to see implemented, just post here and I'll check it out and maybe include it in the next build
I honour all feedback from you guys..the more the better so I can learn more.

New Build up on OP
Hey guys,
Alroger has included a patched framework into one of his builds, offering support for PDroid. Based on their work, the modified JAR files seem to do the work nicely. Therefore, you can find the patched and unpatched versions of the files in CWM flashable format attached to this post.
Please report back if it works for you, as it will be valuable feedback to the team porting PDroid to ICS.
For more info on PDroid, go here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1357056
For more info on the port of PDroid to ICS, go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1554960
Notes & Observations
- Only compatible with official CM9 (Android 4.0.3 and 4.0.4).
- Only compatible with Recovery 3.0.x or later (should not be a problem with recent/modern ROMs/builds).
- This build is only compatible with SGT7 device variants and the CM9 builds released for these devices.
However, if you indeed get into trouble, try clearing cache, dalvik cache and flashing your original ROM on top of this package. No data wipe should be required!
Download & Install:
Download OP post attachment of your choice (based on CM9 0421 nightly)
Flash P1-PDroid-CM9-0421-CWM.ON.v2.zip to apply patch
Flash P1-PDroid-CM9-0421-CWM.OFF.v2.zip to remove patch
Save zips onto your Tab
Reboot in Recovery mode
Install zip from SD Card
Reboot tab & wait for Android to upgrade
Install PDroid app from market (market link)
Enjoy
Disclaimer
I will not offer support to anyone in case these ZIPs cause any harm or damage in any way. You are responsible of your own actions including flashing anything to your device!
Thanks and Credits
Thanks, in no particular order to these guys:
svyat for the initial work
pastime1971 for the ICS port
alroger for building the patched framework files compatible with CM9 and giving me his blessing to pack the patched framework files
Let me know of any issues or success stories in the thread.
Peace,
C.
I don't need to flash this patch as I already use alroger's build of CM9 ROM with PDroid (2012-04-24), but I just wanted to say thank you, as this is excellent news for next time when I don't use a ROM that already includes PDroid patches!
http://cafe-ti.blog.br/1524~sgt7-p1000-android-ics-cm9-mtd.html
Is this device specific?
It runs on all SGT7 variants running official CM9 build.
It won't work for other ROMs or other devices than SGT7.
PS: if it runs on something else, it is only by chance!
Peace,
C.
Ok...thanks anyway.
From the OP it read like it was good for any cm9.
Hope nobody flashes it on the wrong device.
Luckily I was smart enough to ask first.

Yes, @cheatman's post is exactly for the official cm9 nightly p1 and p1c (Galaxy Tab 7 GSM and CDMA).
And he offers the removal of the patch also, in case you have any problems.
thanks will give it a go
Hi Cheatman,
Will this work on AOKP ICS?
Or will it need a different one? Can you build one?
Thanks!!
First thing: updated OP post to avoid confusion.
Secondly @priyana: It will probably break AOKP builds as the framework is heavily modified compared to CM9. You could try to flash it and report back, but be ready to flash AOKP again on top of it if it bugs out.
If you have issues, you will not need to restock or wipe data. You can just flash AOKP again on top of it and it should return to normal after a reboot.
Peace,
C.
Thanks Cheatman.
Just to feed back here.
I just tried applying it on my aokp build #31 but can't boot into the OS.
Flashed the from again on top of it and I am back to aokp like you said.
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA
Same for me with AOKP. After installing the ON package it boots up to the part of updating, the next start it doesn't boot up anymore and is stuck on the bootlogo and makes a short vibration in repeated intervalls.
Installed the OFF package, updated on first boot, doesn't work anymore on next boot just like the ON package.
Too bad for me as I'm going to use the train now and could've used the tab.
Thanks anyway and I'm still interested in this and would hope to see a fix.
You can still use the tab by flashing aokp again.
All data intact in my case.
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA
I know that and did that already because OP wrote that in the first post:
"However, if you indeed get into trouble, try clearing cache, dalvik cache and flashing your original ROM on top of this package."
Works as usual but no pdroid.
OK.
Read you wrongly because you said too bad, you "could have used the tab"
I thought you meant now it is unusable/broken, hence the reminder.

This build of CM10 will only keep up with what is actually merged into the code for CM10. Primarily this was made because of how infrequent the building goes with the official nightlies, but now i continue on regardless of anything...
Code:
We are not responsible if you brick your phone, for any bugs in the rom,
or if your cat decides to eat your phone because its now full of awesome.
This build is very much identical with the official build, u can switch from official and my build without any fear of having to wipe your phone.. the only difference is that i have the build script change the cyanogenmod version to more reflect like a nightly
I'll start build in the evenings, probably take a little bit depending on how much is new and the real wait is me actually uploading it.. (I have terrible upload speeds!)
Known Issues:
None
Instructions:
Download rom
Go to recovery
Wipe rom if coming from another rom, u dont have to wipe if ur coming from official nightly
Flash rom
Flash gapps, this u dont have to do every time just when u first come to the rom (the rom backs up gapps)
Boot into rom
???
Profit!
Current and older builds can be found here: http://code.google.com/p/team-keyblade/downloads/list
Latest GAPPS: official gapps
Aternate gapps that will sync gallery to picasa if you need this, but you will lose some CM features in camera and other apps. First gapps link is recommended by Cyanogenmod and kalimichoaz(official Maguro cm dev): alternate gapps

All this is, is stock CM10. No additions, no themes and no additional tweaks. We build this because before there are nightlies, the builds are few and far between. We will build on a daily basis so whatever is merged into the CM code will be in our Rom. It is interchangeable with the "Official" CM10 Rom and can be flashed with just a cache and dalvick cache wipe if coming from the "Official" CM team build.
Please let me know if you have any problems with Google + and Google Talk Force Closing. I just found out that I am having this problem and am trying a full wipe with the latest GAPPS. If you are having this problem we will find a different GAPPS that will work.

So if I install this I won't have to wipe all my apps and settings to upgrade when the official cm10 is released? That's my biggest concern... I hate having to redo all my settings! I don't know how so many people are okay with switching roms so much when you have to do that. Gets very tiresome...
I just want to run something I can stick with that continues to get updates without me having to worry about doing another full wipe in the future

Is this ROM still active? I just started using it on my sprint nexus but there doesn't seem to be much activity here.
Because the CM team does not provide official nightly build for our pets (read HOX ), I decided that the nightly build I will simulate a very often compilation of source code from CM repo.
I can not guarantee regular publishing, but usually 1 times a week I make a compilation and here I will post the download link.
Important notification:
Please keep in mind that I am not a developer and any errors that may occur can not be repaired by me. Your feedback in this thread will have a single meaning - information for others in what condition the ROM is.
These unofficial nightly build will be available only for the new partition layout.
I will not attach any change logs.
I personally use these nightly builds as my daily driver.
The installation procedure is the same as in other HOX ROM, so that I will not be described again.

Some compile problem. Now I'm building whole ROM from scratch. If all will be without errors (will see in the morning), upload new build ASAP. Sorry for the delay and stay tuned, please

You ask me once already. I'm really not a developer and have no free time to studiing all about android programming as I wrote in my first post of this thread. I will only syncing CM repository with their changes and build it for our HOX's. That's it.
ok thanks sorry
i was using a build from teemo and just flashed this over it and from what ive noticed and confirmed. this rom is smoother and scored about another 200-300 points in the multi-core score in geekbench. Everything loads a little quicker and smoother.
Edit: audio and music no longer stutters when changing apps or moving through the phone.
Good to know my changes are working
@milda25 you should put in OP a link to sources
@Demetris of course, will do it, but what do you mean "link to sources"? I'm only exercise monkey without a broader knowledge

Dirty flash?
Any problems dirty flashing the 08/08 version over the 31/07 version? I normally do a full wipe and re-flash to keep things nice and clean, however the ActiveSync Exchange policy at work has changed and it means I need to raise a ticket each time I connect a new device and its a bit of a pain....
Cheers

No problem with dirty flash. I did it too. But flash boot.img from 08/08 build too.
