How's your battery life after root? - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ok like the title says, how is your battery life and what did u do to improve it after rooting?

1.installed nofrillscpu to set the cpu to its lowest speed supported by kernel, to save battery.
2. Install xposed.
3. Install greenify and amplify Battery Extender to increase battery life.
4. Install any xposed based autorun manager to stop apps from getting started automatically.
5. Use sdmaid to disable background services of apps.(mainly social networking apps and e-shopping related apps)

Xposed on the G4 is a no-no for now unless you want boot loops for breakfast.
On another note, my battery life is just the same as it was pre-root, lasts all day on a charge and then some.

The same since I never did anything battery related post root.

[Q] How to increase battery life no root, Odin flash

Hello, ever since I flashed my note 2 7100, via odin with original file, i was noticing like a little bit worse battery life than before, even though I factory reset the phone before the flash. Any tips and tricks how to increase the life - for example apps I can disable / delete ?
You can install betterbatterystats or wakelock detector to investigate the reason.

You may try following :
1. Disable all the unneeded stock apps.
2. Use GSam Battery Monitor. Check App Usage.
3. Use Greenify.
dont use "battery tweaking" apps. Android is already optimized for best battery performance. Use only apps you really need and you'll be fine

[Q] Would Android Tweaker and Greenify conflict with each other?

I'm trying to improve the performance, battery life, and stability of my phone. A few days ago, I found out about Android Tweaker 2. I use the auto tweaker and tasker profile features and am wondering if they would conflict with Greenify if I were to install it.
My auto tweaker is set to balance performance with battery life, and to only use safe tweaks. My tasker profile is set to hard (aggressive RAM management values) with persistence on boot. Note that "tasker profile" here has nothing to do with the Tasker automation app. By "tasker profile," Android Tweaker means multitasking profile.
I have not changed anything in the system tweaker, OTA tweaker, app manager, smart actions, or multitasking sections.
Would this setup conflict with Greenify, or would I probably be okay using both? I'd like to try Greenify so that I can increase my battery life. Thank you.
Well, I went ahead and did it (installed Greenify and set it up) and as far as I can tell my phone is working fine. It's much less laggy, and so far Greenify has cut my battery usage in half. That's with heavy usage too- a lot of screen on time tweaking things.
Between Android Tweaker, Greenify, Nova Launcher (more lightweight than Trebuchet), zipaligned apps, smartassv2, 1.3GHz overclock, some Xposed modules, uninstallation of unused system apps and custom ROM apps, and better use of widgets and quick settings, I think I may have made my phone far less frustrating than it use to be. Time will tell, but I may actually be able to enjoy it now. Maybe I don't need new phone after all.
I wouldn't think so. Greenifys sole purpose is to minimize background data use of apps when in idle. I've ran both exposed and android tweaker 2 which is the new version and didn't see any issues until android tweaker 2 started force closing with certain tweaks but with bit still being in the beta stage that's normal for a few issues. Only issues u may probably have will be in exposed itself cuz the sources have only been tested on 4.2 ROMs even tho they will work on any jellybean ROM. Hope this was of some help to you and if so feel free to hit the thanks button

Adding Life to S3 Neo Battery

Hello!
Previously I told you about a way to increase battery life on the battery-hungry S3 Neo (and just about every other Samsung device ).... Here we come!
The following items are to be noted before you proceed:
1. Results may vary depending on your device, your firmware and how you use it.... I did this method on a rooted phone with stock firmware. However, it can be made on a non-rooted one with any available firmware, but the results are not so guaranteed... Give it a try nevertheless!
2. If your life or business depends on live notifications from so many messaging and calling apps and services and keeping your device online 24/7/365, this method may disrupt your life... Don't say I didn't warn you!
3. In some rare instances, improper application may render your phone partially or completely useless, if it weren't bricked! I have absolutely no responsibility for any damage that might occur to your device, data, business or even life..... USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK!
4. Some apps here are paid ones. If possible, please suggest free alternatives for everyone to use here.
Your inventory for this method:
1. A Samsung phone, or probably any other Android phone (Mine is an S3 Neo)
2. A rooting method (highly recommended) - DO NOT ROOT IF WARRANTY IS A CONCERN TO YOU!
3. A few useful apps: Clean Master, Du Battery Saver Pro, BusyBox, YAAB, Xposed Framework, Greenify (Donate package), JuiceDefender Ultimate
Steps:
1. Root your device by any available method (Just do a search here for a method that works for you!)
2. Install BusyBox
3. Install Du Battery Saver Pro (or Battery Doctor as a free alternative here) and set it to kill apps when the screen goes off.. Put the apps here on the ignore list to keep them alive
4. Install Greenify (Donation Package) and hibernate just about every app you installed, except for the messaging ones (if you use them frequently) and any other app your life depends on. For the system apps, just hibernate the Google apps (except for Google Play Services) and any other bloatware you may find and activate all experimental features (You will need Xposed Framework for the hibernation of System apps)
5. Install JuiceDefender Ultimate and set it on the "Balanced" profile... You can customize it later
6. Install YAAB and set it on the Auto mode. Don't forget to keep it on the Foreground from the settings to keep it running
7. Install Clean Master, set it to kill the apps on screen off and put the apps mentioned here on the ignore list... Clean your junk files every now and then
The results: From 8 - 10 hours of battery life to more than 20 hours, including plenty of time of active use
Again, be careful when you use it... Wrong application means damage, so keep backups ready at all times!
Let me add something else to adding more battery life for our I9301I Beauty -> Decrease battery drain

The kernel that comes with CM13 works reasonably well. A few things can cause excessive battery drain and its not just the kernel that is at fault. We don't know all the settings and installed apps of the people who have claimed long battery life for their phones after flashing this rom or that kernel, or even if their testing methods are reliable and can be compared with others. So any claims about long battery life is very suspect.
Google services has always had a big problem with power drain because of bugs. Google's location data gathering is not only bad for privacy but for draining power as well. And many free apps tend to use too many non-related permissions and they may misuse google play services which also drains power. So the easiest thing is install the bare minimum of google apps (start with google pico package) and use xprivacy to tighten up permissions. I think nothing can be can be done with rogue apps that use google play services.

What do you use your phone for if you don't install google play and gapps? Many people including some reputable posters liked Kairi's Xcelerate for increasing battery life but there isn't a version yet for MM. You could try the God's kernel which works with CM13 but it looks buggy from the looks of things.
I doubt any kernel (Xcelerate included) can instantly transform the redmi 1s and give it good battery life. 4-5 hours of SOT is reasonably good and believable. Claims of 12-16 hours otoh......
