What have you enabled?.
Wondering if there's anything worth enabling in it?
I noticed there's fm transmitter on the 811 version.
for me so far, i changed "ro.build.target_operator=ATT" to OPEN to get rid of the annoying AT&T text in the notification/lockscreen, and changed DPI to 540. there's not much that's actually useful in the build.prop this time around

Did you notice any issues with changing your DPI? Any apps not working or looking correctly?
persist.splitwindow.support_all = true for Splitscreen for all apps. ^^
Changed build prop to 500 all is good.

Can you please explain what exactly your changing here? Are you changing "ATT" to "OPEN"?
I tried this music build prop editor but it didn't work for me.

What other values can you set it to? I'm on AT&T and it worked when switching to "OPEN", but I'd prefer the stock Android status bar. It exists in the systemui.apk, so there must be a way to enable it.
Wonder if call recording can be enabled with a build prop edit?

There is a record option in the build prop but it didn't enable it for me. Gotta be something else with it I bet.
Anyone with a sprint g4 manage to edit the build.prop without bootloop? Every time I modify the build.prop (dpi or enable/disable anything) it will just keep looping
What app do you guys use to modify the build.prop file? When using root explorer, it just tells me that the file is too large so nothing will be saved. I used to use 920 text editor, but it's no longer available in the play store

Might be framework related too. I remember using G2 and G3 tweakbox and you could enable it. Problem is this is the 4 and no xposed yet. I think it takes more to be able to add the button to the dialer.
Edit.. Actually the more I think of it, enabling it in the build might be what works, but it's just a matter of adding a physical functioning button to start record.

Root explorer or es file explorer
Yea. I used tweak for those too. I just didn't know if the dev was modding build prop.
I emailed him on the play store to see if he was making a g4 version now that we have root, but no reply yet. Hopefully enough people do the same and he makes one for us.

You'll need a build prop editing app. I use buildprop tweaker pro.

Just looked at that and it does not do much. Sets some values, there would be nothing to port. Just add those values to your build.prop.
And you do not need to find the values most will not be in there. You will need to add them
I changed DPI after OTA and got a Soft Boot. (went from 320 to 240)
Anyonw know why? I am now afraid to change my DPI
I used Rom Toolbox, and it had 2 DPI settings. (both the same) i changed both.
Are they for the pen, and the regular display? Was it a goof in Rom Toolbox? Any help is appreciated.
This is the third or fourth time iv heard of rom toolbox doing this. I would suggest to not use it anymore. Change dpi by editing the build prop. I use root explorer for that

It works just fine. When you navigate to system/ buildprop, longpress buildprop and hit open with> text editor. Make your changes and hit menu> save and exit.

I honestly did that. i have done it hundreds of times on my Samsung Infuse. I wonder what it could be. i have read people say the root explorer is finicky with su commands...
Also when it wasnt letting me, supersu was logging that i had to have the pay for version to do it (but it may have meant a different command). so i switched to superuser (like my cm10 build used) and it didnt make a difference.

Install build prop editor from play store. Scroll down and find “persist.splitwindow.support_all” and set the default value to “true”. Reboot

Unless you root and mod the sound is required. There was a law passed that says the provider nor manufacturer can make it so the sound can be disabled. The reason being is so you can't be one of these creepers in the malls taking pictures without permission.
There is an app called "enforced stream silencer" that does not require root. Maybe thus will work I will know at 9 am tomorrow and report back!
I believe if all of your volumes are down, you won't hear it.

Install xposed installer
There is an xposed app called Wanam that will let you tweak pretty much anything.
Enforced stream silencer tested and works

You can also change the name of the shutter.ogg file in system settings using root explorer which worked for me

The camera shutter sound option in the camera settings menu is a csc feature which only gets enabled if your carrier & country code has it. The actual setting checkbox can be added by a rom dev along with a lot of other options throughout the phone. When I get around to rooting my new Note 4 I plan to get to work on making a custom stock rom with all the bells & whistles including the camera shutter sound menu option. I'm coming from the Note 2. Things will soon pick up for the Note 4 develop section.

Device/System/csc/feature.xml. In feature.xml edit the line in the camera section, "shutter sound menu" from false to true. Reboot the phone. You will then have an option to enable/disable the shutter sound in the Camera apps menu . You must be rooted and use something like es file Explorer
Turn your ringtone volume all the way down to silence the camera shutter sound.

I used that one a couple of years ago. I believe you may have to change permissions for feature.xml to r w through root Explorer if I remember correctly.
Es Explorer will just do it automatically if it's root explorer setting it set to "ON".
let me know how it goes.

Awesome it worked! I didn't have to change anything. I guess somehow it picked up the change I made from before, and after I installed it, it made the changes automagically lol.

CHANGELOG
V1 (Aug 25)- Allows for recording up until you run out of space instead of putting a time limit on everything
backup the entire folder system/priv-app/samsungcamera6 , delete the apk, then copy this over to system/priv-app/Samsungcamera6
Download at bottom of this post
After that set the permissions (id recommend checking the original apks permissions before u delete it)
Reboot, (see if the app even shows up), then try recording 4k, it's around 21 minute record time with stock internal storage, with the 256GB sdcard it should be much more

I remember there was some workaround way to enable it on older galaxy phones a few years back but I don't remember it.

If you add this line of code:
