G2 won't get signal after Permaroot / Super CID / Subsidy unlocked

Hi everyone !
I´m an Argentinian who worked in the US for a couple of months as a J1 student and bought a G2, thinking I would be able to root it and unlock it to use it at home no problemo ( it's supposed to be an unlockable quadband phone afterall ). Now after doing all the shannanigans to get my phone ready to work with a local sim card, I get no signal whatsoever. I followed this guide :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=855764
And confirmed I had done everything correctly by doing the following on adb :
# stop ril-daemon
# cat /dev/smd0 &
# echo -e 'ATE1\r' > /dev/smd0
0
#
# echo -e 'ATV1\r' > /dev/smd0
OK
# echo -e '[email protected]?\r' > /dev/smd0
@CID: 11111111
OK
echo -e '[email protected]?40\r' > /dev/smd0
# [email protected]?40
@SIMLOCK= 00
OK
#echo -e '[email protected]?AA\r' > /dev/smd0
[email protected]?AA
@secu_flag: 0
OK
I am running Cyanogenmod 6.1 and the phone does recognize my Simcard's carrier ( Claro AR ). Could you please tell me what I'm doing wrong ? Thank you !
Does the phone read you are on any network? If not than it wouldn't seem as if you did it correctly.
Good luck

Yes. Like I said, the phone recognizes my Simcard ( ClaroAR ) but it won't give signal. Thank you !
1. Check if your APN is set up in Settings > WirelessAnd Networks > Mobile Networks > Access Point Networks. If there is no APN set up you should find the settings online.
2. Check your Radio version. If you are using the stock radio and you haven't updated yet you should most definitely do that.

Hey thanks for the tip ! Stupid me I was using a SIMcard without service ! Everything is working perfectly now. Thank you everyone! You may close the thread if you so will.
I think that the frequencies that are in use by the carrier in your country are not supported by the G2.
For reference, the G2 supports:
- GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
- HSDPA 900 / 2100

Well according to several sites I've visited ( like this one ), Argentina uses 850 and 1900, so the G2 should work no problem. I have no idea why but some SIM cards ( of the same carrier I mentioned before, that is, Claro AR ) seem to work perfectly fine while others make my phone crash, not recognize the carrier and give no signal. In the latter SIM card, I get the following generic error at around every 5 seconds:
Sorry!
The process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
Any ideas ?
UPDATE: Could it be that the G2 has problems recognizing old SIM cards? The ones that fail are like 5 year old SIM cards (or older) and seem to have 32k of memory (or less), while the one that works has 64k. Has anybody else ever experienced this sort of problem ?
Thank you !

LG G4 H815 - *#*#4636#*#* not working

Hello, i just switched to LG G4 from my LG Optimus G PRO. I was using *#*#4636#*#* in order to select the network type i want (LTE Only, LTE/WCDMA etc) . That code is not working on my G4. Is there any way to enable it or any idea why it is not working? Or any other way to select any network type i want? My Android version is 5.1 and the Software Version is V10d-EUR-XX
Use *#LGMENU#*815# -> Field Test -> Modem Settings -> RAT Selection
Also remember some models, like the Taiwanese H815, are CSFB only, i.e. no VoLTE, which means that if you set them to "LTE only", you will only have data and not be able to place / receive calls.
There is also the Settings (General) -> More -> Mobile networks -> Network mode

changing rom variant

Currently I am using LG g7 Korean variant. I would like to change to the global variant, can I just flash the global variant without changing and setting?
Did you try it?
For Korean version I suggest ULM firmware and wi-fi fix. When You flash Global on Korean model You will lost LTE.
Wi-Fi fix
Go to service menu *#546368#*710#
Field test --> wi-fi test --> ota settings --> change to jp and click enable

N78 5g band

Would it be possible to enable/add n78 (3500) radio support on this device? I have an unlocked SKT variant (LM-F100N). GSMarena however doesn't show n78 on the supported 5g bands, but other sites show it has n78 support.
I'm currently here in the Philippines and it's the only 5g band that all telcos are using afaik.
What app do you use to show what bands are active?
I just look it up on Wikipedia on what are the bands that the local telcos are using. I used GSMArena to check what are the supported bands for LG Wing. It seems like no matter whether SK or international, they all have the same bands
having same issue..Im from the philippines too and my LG wing already have n78 band enabled but still no 5g
There could have Carrier Policy to list networks have allowed use 5G with this device. That is common in most of 5G device have allow list.

If you have rooted you can may edit carrier policy depends how it's made to device and use *#*#4636#*#* menu to enable 5G NR.
Also would be intresting see logs from this device. There is way to get without root https://cacombos.com/contribute -> LG . The Log should have information about supported 4G and 5G combinations of devices and can there confirm if 5G enabled or not.

What you can find under of Debug Screen?
dear XDA " poster " , please find below a link to a page with hypertext and to an application where to browse that sheet for LMF100N [ LG WING variant for KR market ] also supporting " sub6Ghz " radio frequency bands thus compatible with wireless cell networks of a latest generation [ " 5G NR " technology with band n78 too. ]
https://www.piucellulare.it/scheda-tecnica/lg/wing/5g-f100n/ [ google translate might help that website homepage also shows a Eng. version switch at the bottom of the page , footer ]
in connection with LG velvet and wing, our experience instead supports ideas " LGE " develops and deploys firmware, also allowing carriers | operators to select a variant depends on a carrier's brand however in " EU ", some LGE official websites report unlocked " LG variant devices " [ LG devices with no carrier brand ] are compatible with " 5G " wireless cell networks of few carriers only - for instance: LG velvet model we owned had no carrier brand and firmware variant turned the smartphone into a device compatible with " 5G NR " network of select operator of Netherlands only and " KPN " in particular [ the firmware is then enabling few " 5g bands " only and depending on the target market ]
on your " LG WING on SKT network " you may still want to replace firmware and remove carrier brand, you'll be selecting a variant that " unlocks more 5G bands " therefore making your smartphone compatible with a network operator | carrier in your country however firmware variant and version must also eventually match that model marketed in South Korea [ LM-F100N ], in addition you don't want to flash | load firmware that was instead developed and deployed for australia; global or US models of the same device [ Lg WING ]
NOTE:
we include two more links to " pages with hypertext " and websites also listing firmware variants and versions for LG Wing [ LM-F100N marketed in South Korea ] however please also note the size of those files [ .KDZ files ] and the two separate websites are stating very much different file property for those same images for firmware.

Find the correct file on lg-firmwares.com

Hi!
I have G710EM (I get it from settings on Andorid) with Andorid 9 and I'd like to upgrade it to Andorid 10.
Don't know why, but OTA never worked and I had to manually update years ago from 8 to 9.
First step is to get the new ROM, so I'm in this page
https://lg-firmwares.com/lg-lmg710em-firmwares/
but I don't know which is the right one...
I'm from Italy, so I set the filter but for every Region Code (I think I'm in ITC, because I'm with Iliad operator and TIM, VDI and WIN are other operators) there are 2 files.
So what I'm suppose to download?
G710EM30b_00_OPEN_EU_OP_0707.kdz or
G710EM30f_00_OPEN_EU_OP_1124.kdz ?
How do I know?
Thanks!
BTW I've found this guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...-stock-rom-or-crossflash-using-lg-up.3914079/
Is it the safest way to upgrade or there's something better?
Thanks again!
If you go to Settings > About Phone > Software Info > Software Version, it should tell you what firmware you're currently running (b or f).
