So i just got a fire stick with kodi on it and when i was in the tvaddons settings the default skin was called confluence, i changed it to another that was available, I dont recall what it was named, but it's blue with circles, regardless the skin is un responsive in certain areas. it has no visual cues when you are in the main menu selecting, videos, music, programs etc. When i got to add a new add on and i am prompted to cancel or select ok ; the box comes up with cancel highlighted and does not allow me to move and highlight the install button. It will also not allow me to go to the settings at all so i cant figure out how to change it back to the theme it originally had. Is there a way that i can restore it? I did not add kodi onto my stick personally, and am unfamiliar with the tech side of it. Thanks for any help!!
I don't know which skin this is, hopefully someone else can help, but if you have a file explorer you can nuke the problem by deleting the correct skin folder, then Kodi/XBMC will default back to Confluence. I had a similar problem with the Titan Mediabrowser skin and this is how I fixed it.
With Kodi 15 and ES File Explorer, first go to Tools and turn "Show hidden files" on, then you go to Home/Android/Data/org.xbmc.kodi/files/.kodi/addons, here you will see a bunch of folders, some named "skin.xxx", you just need to delete the correct skin folder (in ES: long press, then select Delete at the bottom of the screen). If you delete all of them, of course you lose any non-Confluence skin settings you made, but you will still have Confluence and you can just reinstall any skins you are interested in.
I don't know the exact folder structure for older Kodi/XBMC/SPMC/TVMC, but it will be something very similar to this.

I upgraded my Dash to WM6 via T-mobile's official rom. Everything seems to work fine, and I cannot yet say anything about whether or not I like it more than wm5 or anything like that, however I do have a few questions.
Whenever I set my homescreen, it sets up just fine, but when I reboot the phone, it comes up with the homescreen I set up, but then it reverts back to the T-mobile default every time after about 30 seconds... Anyone else experiencing this problem? I tried reflashing to no avail. Is there something in startup that reapplies the default homescreen?
Also, is there a list of available plugins I can put into my custom homescreen? I like the new music playing doohickey, and I also like the live search plugin as well.
I have been having the same problem..... I would like a nice clean homescreen with the music plugin..... anyone?
You just need to delete or change the file name of the default screens in Application Data\Home

Sorry, but how do you do that? I looked into Application Data/Home and did not find a file name call "default screen" Which xml or file should I be looking for?
To Keep The Home Screen You Want!
The best fix for this is move the My5MgsCenter folder from the \Windows\StartUp folder to the \Windows\ folder. This way, you retain all your home screens but when you reboot your device only the home screen you want will appear every time you reboot your device.!
Hi, I found the new HTC WM6 gray .tsk file over in the Wizard Touch thread, but after selecting it, I noticed that it used a different image for the start menu, also it messed up my PIEPlus and Pocket Artist..not messed up bad, just a registry entry making it flat black, it was more bothersome in the pocket artist, but I didnt take a screen shot of that.
as seen here: http://gfy.zapto.org/images/htc/
I just made dups of the tdywater's for the stwater's, so the menu matched..they could be cropped I suppose, and took out the offending registry entries.
Fixed .tsk here:
http://gfy.zapto.org/cabs/HTC.zip
I used OCP to change it, and couldnt get basehue to a higher number..even though it said higher in OCP, when I select the theme on the device, I end up with a 123 value at basehue, so I have to go in and manually darken it to around 140 (my prefrence)...maybe its me being a retard, or the software..if someone wants to point out the error, or release a darker version, feel free to.
pardon me for being a dumd ass but how exactly do u use a .tsk file?
appologies again!!
It is a theme file just put it in your device through activesync by exploring. either in storage card main root or in my documents of phone storage. then go to today settings in your device settings and you can select it as your theme.
Enough or what

thanks alot!! been puzzeling me for ages!!
I was wondering if there was a way to add and remove icon shortcuts for programs in the start menu
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Mircosoft\Shell\StartMR U
InitialOrder > Remove links in this key to have all apps in alphabetical order or add links in the order you choose.
@quicksand - i believe that is for the MRU only.. which appears only in the Homescreen..
@casezin - Try to sync your phone, explore, locate /Windows/Start Menu/, and you can add/remove shortcuts/folder there..
There's a StartMRU and a StartMenu. I put the wrong key it it should be
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Mircosoft\Shell\StartMenu
order > Remove links in this key to have all apps in alphabetical order or add links in the order you choose.
I apologize for that mixup. What i posted in this post is correct.
By Editing the registry key you can put your apps in any order you like as opposed to having the default apps at the top and user installed apps below those.

Thanks... This should be added to the Wiki. I knew how to remove menu items... but not sort them
windows mobile 6.5 start menu
I have installed an application (to be specifies the application is called mobidiv and it is for language support) on my windows mobile 6.5; however after the installation the start menu is not working anymore! It’s there however it’s is disabled
I had a similar problem with the installed application when I was on windows mobile 6.1; however the problem was with the sms email threading, the application for some reason disabled it.. after searching the web I was able to fix the problem by going into the registry key and enable the sms email threading feature again.
Now, I guess the application has done it again but this time with the start menu, can any one help me with providing the registry key for enabling/disabling the menu button for windows mobile 6.5
Thanks in advance.

I'm sorry but what device are you running wm6.5 on? I don't think anyone with an excalibur is running 6.5!
i dont know what phone or build your using, but mine is an htc touch pro 2 running 6,5 and i absolutly haaate some of the stock apps that come in the start menu
i was playing around on it a few weeks ago and found where the folder is that holds the icons for the menu
you can make new folders while in here, delete shortcuts, and rename them.
heres the folders you need to open:
->start
_->file explorer
(make sure you are on the top level of "my device")
__->windows
(this should be the last file available)
___->start menu
____->programs
once you reach the programs folder you should see an alphabetical list of your folders folowed by an alphabetical list of your app shortcuts, just like you would on any computer.
just hold select and then press delete.
it will ask if your sure, press yes.
if it tells you that a related program might be using this shortcut, it means that you might have either a tab or an icon on your home screen linked to that particular shortcut and you would have to re link that tab or icon to the program or risk loosing it entierly.
hope this helps

i just saw the date of the original post ^ ^;
might be alittle to late to help the original situation but this still works none the less

Hi I hope someone here can help me?
I have downloaded some games for my phone and have them saved on the storage card but how do I get them to appear in the list off the programs tab so I can play them? At the moment I can only get them to work through file explorer but its a bit of a faff!
Help please someone!
tap and hold on the game .exe ..select "send to shortcut to programs"it'll appear on ur programs list!
in the file explorer screen? if i tap and hold on a game I get 'cut, copy, rename, delete, send, beam file'?
You can add programs to the list using Diamond TF3D Config!
You need to add shortcuts to the programs from your sd card installation directory to the \windows\start menu folder.
Read here to find out how to make a shortcut:
http://www.vijay555.com/?Help:Command_Lines
V
OK I'm new to HTC and Windows Mobile etc and generally not very techy so bare with me please!
Do I really have to install another program just to move the games to the right place?
I don't know what Diamond TF3D is?
Vijay - thanks for the link but it is all a bit much for me I think - is there no simple way to just copy and paste it to the right place without needing a new explorer etc?
this is what i see when i tap and hold on the game .exe
the option might not be on the pop up menu that comes up after you tap and hold on the .exe .. u've to scroll down the menu.
btw.. what games have you installed on ur storage media!?
if i go to File explorer then Storage card I can see my games (java - not sure if this matters?) Bubble Bash, Date or Ditch, New York Nights, Solitaire and Sudoko - also have a barcode reader app that I can't get in the right place, assume I'm doing the same thing wrong!
If I click and hold on any of the games I get cut, copy, rename, delete, send and beam file. If I press menu (bottom right) whilst highlighting any of them I get Go To (with sub options My Documents, My Device, Folders and Open Path...), Refresh, Show All Files, Sort By, Send, Beam File, New Folder, Rename, Delete and Edit
Also how did you do the screen shot thats really cool and would prob help me to show you what I'm doing wrong!
Hi Finnbob.
You can get screenshots with several different apps, but I'd recommend this one...
http://www.mymobiler.com/
I'd recommend that regardless, as it's just a really useful application!
Incidentally, the screenshot that jtf420 showed us isn't the standard rom. That's not the menu that I get either, as I've only got the standard stock rom on my phone.
Using file explorer, navigate to...
\My Device\Windows\Start Menu
And then create a new folder in there, calling it something relevant like "Java Games". Then just copy and paste the games into that folder (or you can do "paste as shortcut" and leave the actual games where they are).
Hope this helps.
John.
screenshots are made with a prog called PocketScreen 1.3 (thanks RHAPSODY) and it's usually included in may ROM's made by Great CHEF's
regarding the option - "send shortcut to Programs" works only with exe
good guys above have already answered how to make shortcuts for non .exe files .. it might sound complex..but give it a try..
else..u can make a executable file for ur jar (but this kills the idea of java and might be complex process too)
or
use esmertec jbed to launch ur java applications.
ah thank you all! and thank you especially john, I knew there must be a fairly simple way of doing it!
does anyone know if I can change the icons? at the mo all the java games have this 'e' as the icon but this means when I pick them to go on the programs tab I can't tell which is which til I've opened it!
Not an answer to the question really, but if you create a folder in the start menu, then clicking it will open a window that's similar to the programs or settings folder (not really a folder - more an icon view). This will have the full names under the icons, so it won't be a problem.
I don't know how you'd go about changing the icons, I'm afraid. Windows, yeah. Windows mobile, no.
I bought a preloaded FTV so I dont know anything about how these are setup. I tired to search but I cannot find anything as Im sure Im using the wrong wording. Anyway, there is an Internet option on the XBMC home screen that was tied to FF browser. I wanted to change which app that button launches. How can I do that? I have the app already side loaded... Thanks!
I need to find out here the app is so I can assign the ' Default select action '
Depends on the skin, you can customise some skins and change the buttons around. It's under appearance and then skin settings, depends on the skin how it is implemented though.
What skin are you using? What do you want to add to the home screen menu?
ITs Aeon Nox. I did find where the options are to change button name, what shortcut to apply to it etc. Im going to assume that I need to use the Custom option and type in the location of it on the storage where its located. Since it'll be pulling the app from the FireTV side of the AFTv ( Its side loaded... ) The only way I can access it now is by going all the way back to AFTv screen and going to settings and all apps ( or something like that )

If you want a button for firefox in aennox just add firefox to your favorites, then select it from your favorites when setting up the button.
Or if your using Aeon Nox 4, you can add it directly to the Home screen.
Go to System > Appearance > Skin (Settings) > Custumizer (Main menu item customizer)
Then on the Main menu, select the item you want to add as a custom menu item and select it. If if has a red X on it, then select "disable" to enable it, then select "Choose Type".
Now select "Custom" and in the keyboard box type in:
StartAndroidActivity("your.app.apk")
So for example Netflix would be:
StartAndroidActivity("com.netflix.ninja")
You can do this for either the main menu item or for sub-menu items.
Thanks!!!
How do I add Firefox to my favorites
Or how do I find the directory where Firefox is so I can type it in the custom StartAndroidActivity section
Finally got iy. I had to go back into the Confluence ++ skin, add the app to my favorites and then go back into the custom Aeon Nox skin and then add the app from favorites...
