My HTC Wizard (Cingular 8125) is stuck in the bootloader mode. I had successfully flashed a new rom, and all was well until it started shutting down. After a couple of hard resets with no change, I tried to put it in bootloader mode to flash a downgraded rom. Now I can only get to the bootloader screen and the usb connection is not recognized by the computer or the device. Any suggestions?

I have a useless suggestion, just to keep this problem at the top of the list so you find help:
First, try using a different USB port on your computer. Maybe the one you're using fried, or perhaps for some reason the device is just not getting enough powre through it. Try one of the ports on the back of your computer, directly connected to the motherboard. I assume the USB port you're currently using is the one you always use, so this probably won't help at all. But worth a shot.
Also, have you posted this problem in the device specific forum? Someone there might be of more assistance.
!!!!Before I tell you anything I couldn't find another thread like this!!!!
HTC One V (Virgin Mobile USA) - Unlocked Bootloader / Rooted
Had a system update, no longer rooted. Bootloader is still unlocked. But my problem is my phone won't realize that its plugged into a computer so I can't root it. It may or may not be my cord, it has a little damage done to it. Yesterday I finally got it to connect to my desktop, I was like yeah! Wen't to my laptop which had the files for rooting, and it wouldn't realize its in a computer. Now it won't do it to my desktop either. Tried rebooting didn't work. Thanks for the help.
Surely you have another cable you could try? Could also be a problem with the USB port of your machine, try using a different port, maybe one that isn't used much
Hi i recently purchase a second hand LG-E971 (locked to rogers and not rooted).
The phone seem to be working at first but whenever
i connect the phone to the computer or charge it on the wall
it goes to "download mode" the only way to exit it is to hold pwr for 8sec.
i got all the driver installed properly in "download mode"
tried to factory reset it with E97110D_00.KDZ and E97110E_00.KDZ
with success but still having the same problem
whenever i plug a usb cable in
i installed the driver for PC
LGUnitedMobileDriver S4981MAN38AP22 ML WHQL Ver 3.8.1.exe
when i connect the phone the driver got installed automatically
but the phone doesnt connect to the PC (win7 i tried 2 different computer) in any mode it is only charging
Is there a KDZ that is already Root with CMW or TWRP that i can factory reset it?
Thank you.
I would contact rogers to get the device checker under waranty.
If you have flashed the original KDZ, you eliminate all software related issue that could've cause this. It must be an hardware issue.
i have same problem. since today whenever i plug the phone to charge it it goes to download mode.
any way to fix it? im on cm but didnt change anything recently
I would suggest to start with cleaning the USB pirt on the phone. Compressed air and a wooden toothpick will help. I had a similar problem with my old SGS2, when dirt in the socket was causing sime weird behaviour.
Worth trying before going to the service centre...
having the same issue as well..i hope there's a possible fix available.
dead thread i know but i have SOME valuable information if you have this phone lying around "dead"ish. i went through a lot of crap trying to revive my dead battery phone and i remembered, i just by chance stumbled upon a "solution" of sorts. it basically is taking out the sim card, turning on the phone WITHOUT the cable, and once it's on i can connect it again. the moment i put in a sim, the damn thing starts flaking out. i'm currently using solidkernel 1.95 gproj with cm 12.0 official nightly 10/16(2015). this had happened to me like a month and a half ago or so as well. ANYWAY, it's either a radio thing, a kernel thing, a rom thing, or a combination of the three. that would NOT explain why the phone assumes download mode has been invoked, especially given it should only happen through a special pre-boot procedure using buttons (two no less). still, it is possible that my sim slot is too dirty, or my sim itself is problematic? i don't know. what do you guys think?
Been trying to figure this out for the last few days, Google support has been too. I've tried the basics, different usb cord stock and not, factory reset going to stock, different kernels, different roms.
I can only get my nexus 7 2013 to charge when I go to bootloader, then to power off, then uplug the cord and plug back in fast. Once the device is on I get nothing when I plug the usb in, computer or AC. I used to be able to connect to PC no problem. I use the OTG cable a lot for HDDs and my camera, now nothing works. Tried USB debugging on and off and MTP.
I would just say the usb port broke somehow and go for an RMA but since it charges while it's off I feel like it's software related... If you guys have any suggestions I would really appreciate it.

If you've tried different kernels, roms, and I assume different a PC, USB ports, USB cable, then you've eliminated software as a possibility, as well as external hardware, I would do a backup, (unroot and flash back to stock and relock is applicable) then RMA it, you're only delaying the inevitable by waiting it could be some corruption in the emmc, or some other hardware fault that might act unreliably.

Is there a way I can put it to full stock, bootloader and recovery through just the device. Since I can't connect to PC. The only way I came across was through the toolkits.

Well, you can boot into a custom recovery I assume, so you can flash a rom from there (you can get zips from here), then you can root the device (needed for next step), that part is easy enough, the following is only theoretical, go into the OS, install that bootloader lock/unlock app, lock the bootloader, then unroot from within SuperSU (that last part I'm not sure of since you just relocked the bootloader, so not sure if it will work.) Of course even if all that did work, you will still have a custom recovery, so hopefully they won't see that, I believe there are apps which can install custom recoveries from within the OS, but I don't think they flash the stock one.
Maybe someone else more knowledgeable knows of a better/effective way and they will chime in and correct me, etc.

I do think this will work. I don't think flashing a recovery voids warranty if you aren't rooted and unlocked... Thank you for the help man. Wish it wasn't RMA but is what it is...

I just did another factory reset. This time with Elemental kernel, stock 4.4.2 from google. Probably the 4th time I've factory reset but first time with this kernel. All of a sudden I got ADB connected to PC, first time I've had any response from usb while tablet was up and running for 3 days. Might not have to RMA after all

I hope it stays fixed, sometimes problems caused by hardware can be intermittent. Keep testing it daily.
My HTC One M7 Verizon, (which is rooted, S-OFF, and running NuSenseSix) will not show up in Windows in any way. I've tried two different computers and two different (official HTC) cables. The phone will charge when connected to the computer or to the AC adapter. I've tried unninstalling all USB drivers including HTC, rebooting, and reinstalling the HTC one drivers. ADB and Fastboot do not recognize the device either. I've tried factory resets on the phone and cleaning the USB connector out with rubbing alcohol. I'm in desperate need of help because I'm scheduled to return my phone to HTC to have it repaired because of the purple camera issue and a dying battery. I'm afraid they won't repair it with S-OFF, root access, and custom ROM installed. Is there anyway to turn S-ON, remove root, and return to the stock ROM without using a computer? Or, does anyone know how to get my USB working again? Any help would be appreciated and thanks for looking at this.
