LG G3 VS985 Blue/Red Flashing LED; Black Screen - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I'm sorry if this question has been asked but the threads that I read could not help me.
The problem arouse when I was trying to install TWRP to my phone. The last thing I remember doing in my phone was flashing something.
Now, when the phone is turned on, all that happens is blue and red flashing led and also is not recognized by the computer. When I hit the power and low volume keys to go to system recovery but none of the options help; it returns to the black screen and flashing led. When I do power and up volume the led stops flashing and my computer recognizes it as qhsusb_bulk.
I do not know what to do about this, and I would really appreciate your help! Thanks!
Again, my phone is an LG G3 VS985 from Verizon.

Unbricking Z1 Compact

So, today I've decided to root my Z1 Compact and install some custom roms. I've done this before on many other android phones without any trouble and today is the first time I ran into a brick (not sure whether it's soft or hard, I assume it's hard cause I cannot get into recovery anymore).
Basically, what I did was root the phone using Easyflash (the towelroot method), installed a recovery and then tried to flash PA the same way as I used to do on my other phones, but after the process my phone shut down and only gives a red blinking light while connected to the charger, powering on the device will only make it vibrate. The only thing that seems to "work" is when I hold the volume-up button + power and am connected to my PC, when I do that the device will show a blue LED, but other than that it's still unresponsive.
If anyone knows what to do here, or knows whether I should even bother or not, please tell me. I've tried searching and didn't come up with any relevant results.

"I've tried searching and didn't come up with any relevant results" = I'm lazy.
Try flashing a ftf file and report back. Xperias are different so you need to relearn a little. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2631291

Just use my guide#5 to wipe the whole phone and reflash everything.
vol up + power will give you blue LED and it is fastboot mode. vol down + power will enter flash mode but no LED light.

This is the first thing I tried, but it doesn't seem to recognize my phone under windows (even after installing the drivers).

Thanks a lot for the guide, the stupid thing I did was holding the power button and volume down cause it used to be like that with my previous phones. It seems to be flashing now, so hopefully all is well!
EDIT:Flashing ended succesfully but upon booting the phone the only thing I get is a flashing red led, so I'm assuming it's a hardware defect or I did something terribly wrong while flashing a custom ROM.
EDIT2: After holding volume up + power it shut down and then rebooted
I swear, troubleshooting a phone was never this hard/confusing on my HTC/Samsung phones :V but I'm glad it's not a paperweight
I agree that it's very confusing first, but that's mainly because there are so many old, confusing, wrong or incorrect guides. Once you understood how things work in general you start to like it. After getting used to it, I actually feel more comfortable than with my old devices.

If you can get in flashmode and also successfully flashed .ftf but still a no go then you should send it back to Sony.
It's working fine, it just seemed like the phone was still on after flashing. I turned it off by holding power and volume up, and it works fine now.

[Q] How to kill 816 with blinking screen

Hello folks!
I did use my 816 with cm11 nightlies and it was working just fine, 'til today. I wanted to flash a new CWRM and of course it wasn't really for my phone Now the screen is blinking with the "charging battery" emblem and the upper led is light in orange. I tried to reboot the phone with adb and fastboot but looks like the device didn't make it till adb. I tried manually kill the phone with the vol-up and pwr buttons, but didn't seem to work. The screen is just flashing and it will drain the battery dry, but i dont want to wait for it.
So here is my Q. Is there any way to make the phone turn off without popping the back panel off?
P.s: This was my very first Q here, and my English is very bad, soory for it.
Hello, did you find a solution ?

M8 won't turn on, only shows red notification light

I tried to flash the new firmware necessary to flash the 5.0 GPE rom but found that my phone had no OS after that. So I tried to flash PhilZ recovery so that I could load a ROM but after I completed that, the M8 is basically dead. The screen won't turn on and the notification light is red. No matter what buttons I press, power+volup, voldown or both, the red light just turns off for a second and then turns on again. The screen won't turn on at all. It's not a battery issue as I had close to 80%. I'm sure I've bricked it somehow but is there a way to fix it? Please help.

I don't know what the issue was but I kept repeating vol up+power reboots until it turned on. Was able to flash the ROM through adb sideload.

One click Root failure - stuck at LG logo. Can someone please help me what to do?

Hi
I'd be really really grateful if all of you clearly (more) knowledgeable (than I) could help me.
My phone is a D855 (32gb/3gb) international model which was running on stock v5.0.
I ran v1.3 of the one click root method. and completed the whole process (or so I thought ). However, after the process said it had completed, I removed the usb cable and now find that I am stuck at the LG Logo.
Pulling the battery makes no difference. Once reinserted and power back on, the LED on the top left blinks but no boot.
I have tried to enter download mode (by removing the battery, holding the volume up button and inserting the usb cable) but again, no joy.
Can anyone please tell me what I need to do recover the situation.
Many many thanks
Update: I managed to get into recovery by turning off the phone completely and then pressing and hold Power and Volume Down. When the LG logo appeared, release. After a split second, then pressing volume down and volume up. At the white screen asking you to reset, I pressed Yes two times using Volume buttons. Saw the screen that said erasing data but still stuck at the LG logo.
Can anyone help please?
Update 2: managed to get into download mode by powering down (took the battery out) then holding the volume up button and inserting the usb cable.
What do I need to do next?
hello, you need either the lg mobile suite software or lg flash tool 2014 and a kdz
I would go for lg mobile suite - it will offer an upgrade or select it manually
also -- see the guide from hyelton in g3 general (getting back to stock)
