I tried to flash the new firmware necessary to flash the 5.0 GPE rom but found that my phone had no OS after that. So I tried to flash PhilZ recovery so that I could load a ROM but after I completed that, the M8 is basically dead. The screen won't turn on and the notification light is red. No matter what buttons I press, power+volup, voldown or both, the red light just turns off for a second and then turns on again. The screen won't turn on at all. It's not a battery issue as I had close to 80%. I'm sure I've bricked it somehow but is there a way to fix it? Please help.

If you answer these, we can try to help you further :good:
charge it for 15mints and see the noti light turns on or not and if the pc doesn't recognize after installing drivers then its hard bricked , what did u did with the phone?
I don't know what the issue was but I kept repeating vol up+power reboots until it turned on. Was able to flash the ROM through adb sideload.

Hey guys,
i was trying to root the Desire of my uncle, it is a german TMobile branded device with HBoot 0.75.
I used the instructions of the third post in this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=696189
After that i bricked the display i dont know why. The i tried to unbrick the display using the instrunctions of this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=748498
Now i have a Desire that does nothing, no vibration, my computer don't recognise it when i plug in the usb plug, the phone seems dead. The only thing the phone is doing is when it charges the battery, the orange/green leds are blinkng.
Is the phone dead, or can it be recovered in some way?
Unbrick a SLCD is very painful - had to do this myself. The instructions to unbrick are correct. The problem is blind navigating through the Bootloader menu. Sometimes its not responding to Vol-Up or Down at all - so you can't say if you really got to the right point at the Bootloader menu.
Hardest thing for me was to get into Recovery at all. Just give your phone 10s minimum between all steps.

re: blinking: are they on, or actually blinking? when mine is charging I have a solid orange and when it is 100% I have a solid green LED.
Could it be a USB brick and a SLCD brick at the same time?
Have you tried to get the computer to recognise it in either fastboot or recovery mode?
Code:
plug it into the computer (turned off)
vol down+power=bootloader. was there a *ding*?
if not, press power again. you should be in fastboot now. any ding now?
if not, press power again (back to bootloader), wait ~10 seconds, press vol down, then power. you should now be in the recovery screen that would usually have a red exclamation mark in it. any luck with the *ding*?
if there is a *ding* coming from your computer then it can still be accessed from the PC and therefore should a ~relatively~ straightforward fix.

its to do with the fastboot etc having to load the pm99.img files, and that takes ~10-15 seconds. the phone won't respond before it loads these in the bootloader.

Any other suggestion?
red? I didn't know the desire had a red LED, it certainly doesnt show up in a logcat on the blinker app.
do the keys light up when attempting to turn it on?

Unfortunately I don't know how much more help I could be.
all I could suggest is trying to flash said fixes completely blindly again in hopes you screwed it up the first time (using a MicroSD card adaptor to put necessary files on the card).
I guess the next option is to try at Modaco if you haven't already, or see if T-Mob can replace (whether or not you tell them the full story is up to you)
sorry I couldn't be more help

hello, my htc evo was working fine, but after flashing some roms i got it missed up
to start off, my phone turns on stays on for exactly 2 mins and 15 secs, then screen turns off, phone vibrates 5 times the green led light start flashing then nothing, the only way to to turn the phone back again is to pull the battery out
now when i connect my phone to the computer, sd card isnt detected however i manged to fix it by fowling this guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=695243
now whenver i connect my phone to the computer it asks for qualcomm drivers thats what i see under device manager 3 yellow arrows with qualcomm something something, the guide above mentions how to fix it, but i need root and i cant root the phone atm because i cant get ADB working, phone displays qualcomm drivers
i was rooted with CWM recovery, but atm i have updated my phone to the latest ruu using fastboot mode drivers (holding the volume key and power), and im back to stuck with no root or custom recovery hoping that will fix the problem but its still there.
so is there any way that i can fix my phone, like when the phone turns on it works great but after 2 mins screen turns black and vibrates 5 times.
please let me know if anyone knows a solution to fix this.
thanks

Hi,
I´m used Jelly sandwich 9.0 with Rush kernel 10 on ARC S. Today I flash kernel for CM 10 with flashtool, as I wanted to flash that ROM.
When I´m tried to strart phone with power button, phone vibrate and nothing else happened, stuck on black screen. I can´t go into CWM, or in to flash mode with back and volume buttons. In Flashtool there is message that device is disconnected. When I tried to start it again, nothnig happens. When I pull of battery and tried to start phone, phone only vibrate, and that´s all.
Can anyone help me?

No
Try switching it on and holding down the button that gets you into flash mode. I think it's the back button but I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong. The LED on the side where the power socket is should turn blue. if/when it does then plug it back in and see if Windows detects it and if so reflash the kernel (perhaps a different CWM one for the moment).
Or try the above with it already plugged in.
BTW I had something similar happen and Windows would not detect it. I plugged it into another PC/laptop and it detected it. Might also want to give your PC a shutdown/restart if you don't have access to another PC.
Sudenly, I menage to put phone in flash mode with back/volume buttons, and flash another kernel in ftf. Now everything is OK.
After I have this problem I put phone on charger (before that battery was on 40%), thinking that maybe this flashing of kernel drain battery to 0%, that phone couldn´t started.
Thank´s anyway.
I have xperia M which i think is bricked now. It gets stuck ay the sony logo and later a black screen appears with a white horizontal bar at the bottom of the screen and restarts all over again. it is rooted but the bootloader is still locked. while connected to pc it shows qhsusb_dload and detects only fastboot mode in flash tool. it still runs the stock jelly bean which i updated using pc companion. Earlier i installed xposed framework and went goofing around in build props, may be thats what caused it. Please someone help me fix this.

Okay I did some research about this "qhsusb_dload", it means Qualcomm High Speed USB Download Mode and it doesn't translate to a good condition at all
It usually happens because your phone's bootloader is corrupted:... meaning hard-bricked..some recover from it by miracles.
From what I've researched, try putting the phone connected to a charger and full charge it, then try attempting to turn it on, keep trying, and also try pressing the power button for 15secs if it still won't boot up properly.
If all fails, then I'm sorry, I can't help you on this.. send it to the service center..
I'm so sorry for your device usually goofing around a compatible xposed with only root won't bring the phone into a total hardbrick....
This happens most commonly, from what I've researched, if you drain your phone completely to 0% and try to boot it up again..

Hey, i have installed TWRP recovery. It works, i can get to it and make backup etc. But how I can power on my phone? Really, I have no idea. Normally I should just push Power On button, and it will work. Now it doesn't. Phone is restarting all the time to sony logos, then pink led, then blue and power off. Then after few second phone is restarting again and again. How I can just normally power on my phone?

Please tell all the things you did before the problem begins. What have you did last thing to your device? Put your device on charger until your led turns green. Then flash official firmware by flash tool.
Another thing do you able to boot to twrp recovery?
So i have unlocked bootloader (but like 2 months ago) and installed twrp recovery. Actually now, since the battery decharged, because it was restarting all the time, i can do ****. I can't put it on charger, because its restarting after like 5-10 minutes after charging. I can't flash my phone, because its decharged or its stucked on sony logo. I can't use the official repair tool, because its not recognizing my phone. Now I can't even get to the recovery.

ok calm down. Its not a big problem.Just follow these steps.
1. while you see sony logo or when the phone is turning on ( Press and hold VOLUME UP key+POWER key simultaneously). While you feel a short vibrate release the keys. Now put on charger.hope you will not get the automatic turning on problem.
2. Then Download Flashtool software from internet. ( official repair tool will not work coz you have unlocked your boot loader)
3. Download your mobiles official stock firmwire. Then flash it using flash tool.
You can learn about flashing ftf(firmware files) by flashtool from internet.
Best of luck
Ill try to do that 1 step, but I think it wont work. And I have already googled those next steps. Anyway thanks for those steps
Yep, nothing actually works. I get the sony logo, start pressing power button and volume up, then green led is lighting. Its fine for like 5-10 seconds, then its decharged, need to charge for like 20 seconds, and then again sony logos appear. Infinite loop.

The green light means you are on flash mode.the mode is used to flash firmwires.so you need to install flashtool.then install flash mode drivers.then do the steps to flash firmware.
But I can't install anything, since the xperia just restarts after few seconds or just power off, because I can't charge the battery.

You have to install flashtool and drivers on your PC.search on google guide to use flashtool
I have installed drivers and flashtool, but man. You don't understand me. The phone is not charging when im in flash mode. And I can't charge it, because the screen with sony logo can't be powered off. I can only go to flash mode, but in this mode, phone is not being charged. And if I try to flash firmware the phone just run out of battery.

1. R u able to power off your device by volume and power key?
2.OK you can flash stock kernel by fastboot mode.it can be done with a low battery.(may be you have a corrupt kernel)so after flashing kernel you can try to turn off your device by pressing and holding vol up +power key.don't let go any of these two buttons until you get a vibrate.I have never listen or faced this type of issue where we can turn off our device.

Best way is to go to a mobile shop and ask him to remove the battery by unscrewing. You can try at home to do that if u have tools to unscrew

Do You still have a working recovery? If yes, then You can push a ROM zip to phone via adb while being in TWRP and then flash it. Also, again if You have working TWRP, You can turn off phone via it by going in TWRP>Reboot>Power Off.
You can also turn off Your phone by pressing Power and Volume Up button together. You will first get a single vibration. Keep the combination pressed, then You will get three vibrations. Now Your phone will be turned off fully. This combination will work.
Whenever You connect Your phone to PC/Charger, Your phone will charge, regardless it's in bootloop or not.
But, can you read? I said i cant get to fastboot, cant power off phone, cant acces twrp.
