Hello friends,
I am new (and dumb too) to XDA and all the root and all these things.
I just rooted and unlocked bootloader of my Xperia S.
and flashed the Jelly bean AOSP ROM as in following thread.
[ROM]JB AOSP 4.2.1 alpha 2
I was playing in recovery mode and I don't which option I choose but I think something like "Wipe Partitions" or "Format partitions"
After that I rebooted phone but it just went dead.
I think the battery was low (~15%) when I messed up.
Now it's not responding to anything, no boot, no recovery mode, no fastboot, no flash mode,(vol + or vol - with power) :crying:
Only thing was that I put it on wall charger at 2:00 am (no LED), at morning 10::am RED LED was strong on, but still no fastboot and flash mod e while connecting to pc :crying:
Still I kept on charging whole day ( I saw some threads regarding XPERIA S UNBRICK )
now after ~8hours, connected to pc but still detection.
Also I want to mention that When LED was on while charging and the I connected to pc , IF LED went ON , then phone not detected by computer.
and after sometime the LED went off , then Device says it connected as in screen shot below, but no fastboot or flashmode.
Please help me. Sorry for bad representation.
Hi, the i'm not a phone wizz but it happen't to me a few days ago as well. Tried everything almost bought a new phone because i thought it was bricked....
Now it's alive and kickin'.
For me worked:
Mine randomly started up till the battery was empty, 2-3min and that was enough.
Download the Emma flashtool, it's from Sony itself.
Install the flashtool and start it..let it settle.
With the red light on when it starts try to get it in plug in the usb in the phone (it's already connected in the pc) while holding the volume button down, and when you're lucky the flashtool will recognize the phone and will collect the correct software/ROM/kernel. Just hit the install/repair button and that worked for me, it installed the correct software and it was alive again...
Wish you all the luck.

Thank you for your reply.
I did it but when connected phone with vol - , red LED was strong on , but device didn't detected by OS, nor Emma, nor with flashtool.
but after 1 minute the LED went off and at the same moment device detected in PC OS (as sound of new hardware detected sound of windows heard) and flashtool log was-
09/042/2013 22:42:12 - INFO - Device connected with USB debugging off
09/042/2013 22:42:12 - INFO - For 2011 devices line, be sure you are not in MTP mode
no response from Emma. Also no flashboot or fastboot :crying:
Have installed the fastboot drivers for your phone?
If you connect your phone with vol- or vol+ you shouldn't get a red light, it should be blue or green.
Try charge phone for a while then download a jellybean kernel (e.g. *.sin file), then adb push the kernel to the phone. Boot into recovery and refresh rom.
This will require adb and drivers both available in the flashpoint folder.

OK I will try. But the phone RED LED going on as a charging indicator only.
(Generally when phone shuts down at 0% battery and if we boot it up without charging, it turns on and turn off , after i fyou connect the charger, the instance the RED LED goes on but screen remains blank, After sometime the screen shows charging battery )
the same case is happening with me.
Should I remove battery, will it void its warranty?

So u can charge ur phone? It sounds like all u need to do is reinstall a kernel then a rom. No need to remove battery. If you connect urban phone to a usb, when off, and hold a volume key you should not get a red led. You get a red led when u don't have flashmode and/or fastboot.

Have you tried a 'hard' reset of the phone/power.
Phone may be in a loop with power still on or some other state.
Hold the power button -and- volume up button for a good 10 seconds.
You may feel the phone vibrate once then a few seconds later it vibrates three times in rapid succession.
This should indicate the phone is powered down.
If powered down, it may then be able to recharge itself and if you're lucky show a battery charging icon.
When recharged, I'd use SEUS to reload the stock firmware.
Good luck.

Its getting red LED because battery is not charging I think.
And can You explain the process written or a link to tutorial .
One more question
Will my warranty be void if I remove my Battery?

Step 1 - Download a kernel.
Download a kernel like nova (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35055975). this will Download a zip file, open the file and extract the file kernel.elf. note nova is a jellybean kernel.
step 2 - Push the kernel file to the phone
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=23181182
[Xperia S][INFO][REF] All that u need to know before u begin
Step 3 - boot the phone into recovery and install a Rom zip file then reboot.
Step 4 - hit thanks.
Not sure about removing the battery. I have never need to do it.I guess it would be ok if you don't damage anything or break any security seals. Btw u know when u charge your phone when the battery is below 90% it displays a red light hey.

Make sure your phone is absolutely off
Put it to a cool place like refrigerator for a couple of hours
then flash a kernel so fast by fastboot.exe
If works you can full charge your device and you are lucky.

Hi guys,
I was working on a fix for my rom. I made it, went to CWM and flashed it. Then rebooted and evrything was absolutely fine. Then I rebooted into to wipe cache and dalvik cache and did both successfully. When I rebooted, my phone got stuck at SONY logo. I held the volume up and power button for around 5 sec but the phone did not vibrate once. It did not vibrate at all. Instead the SONY logo slowly disappeared and the phone went to a blank screen( NOT powered off ). Then it automatically powered off. Then I tried flashmode, no luck. Nothing for fastboot too. Trying to power on/soft-reset/hard-reset is of no use. The phone does nothing.
I checked the soft brick thread . It said that hard reset will lock up the phone until the battery dies. But I did not do a hard reset at all.
Any help will be appreciated.
EDIT:- Flashtool says that phone is connected with USB debugging off. Nothing happens when I connect my phone to a wall charger too.
Thanks,
abcdjdj

The guide says that after charging for some time, the red led should appear. But my phone had around 80% charge when this incident occured. Anyway, I have kept it for wall-charging now.[NO LED light appears - nothing just blank]
if charging does not help , letting the battery die out might bring the fone out of bootloop

I had a similar problem. I rebooted my phone after wiping system, and the phone just showed a black blank screen. I just held VolUP+VolDOWN and then held Power too. After, I felt a vibration and released the buttons and the phone rebooted so I could get back to recovery TWRP. There I used adb to solve the problem.
Maybe you should just wait to your phone completly discharge... And then charge again.

You must have actually pressed vol up+power only. One vibration means a soft-reset. Yes, I am waiting for the phone to get completely discharged. Following this - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=33032165&postcount=2

Has anyone tried this tool - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2173363
Also, are there any other tools which can completely rebuild the bootloader and all other partitions?
There is a Qualcomm tool for your device, u tried that?

I was installing cyanogen mod 10 via CWM and everything went fine until I rebooted after installing. The phone would not reboot in to android.
The phone is stuck on a black screen with no power light showing - it vibrates if I try a hard reboot but that is the limit of what it's doing. When it was plugged in via USB the computer installed a couple of drivers but that's it as far as any form of life goes.
Does anyone have any ideas ?
Is your bootloader unlocked?
CM10 only works on unlocked bootloader.
If your bootloader is locked, use PCC or Update Service to repair your phone.

Do this -
1. Download stock ics ftf and prepare to flash it using Flashtool by androxyde
2. Press and hold the power and volume up combination until you get 3 vibrations
3. Now holding the volume down key, attach the usb cable and allow the flashing to get completed
4. Turn on your phone normally after the flashing and enjoy
Thanks.
I used the sony update service to get up and running again. As far as I was aware the bootloader was unlocked but presumably it was not which caused the problems ?

The reason why i don't want to do it because if i did it my phone will be cheaper because it will called "Fixed Phone".
Now i got the first logo again while it's connected to the PC , i tried to press VOL- but flashtool didn't detect it and came dead again.

Edit 1: When it show Sony logo i tried to press VOL+ and connect the usb but no fastboot , the same with flash mode.
Edit 2: When it start rebooting wave again i tried to press VOL+ and - then it got stuck with black screen , Flashtool can detect it in USB debigging off mode and it can't be turned off with the 3 vibrates trick.
Edit 3: By removing the sim card the phone turned off. Now back to the first stage with only red led and after long time connecting to PC it show Sony logo then reboot.

I think: you should turn off but when it trying turning off it goes brick, get stuck... i dont know you have to turn off manual ( with disassemble) and connenct usb and vol up because now it cannot be in fastboot or flash mode. or you should leave it to full discharge than it will turn off but it may take several weeks.

No problem , thank you for trying help.
Charging for 10 hours , only red led.
while on a loop, press the volume down button and connect it to the PC. If it doesn't work, press power+vol up till it vibrates once keeping the vol down button pressed as well. if it goes into flashmode, forget everything and flash stock ftf.
on a red led situation, hold the vol down and connect it to PC. It will show no led but keep holding it for long, it will go into flashmode

I tried that to make it restart with one vibrate but no flashmode , i will try it again with holding the VOL- before i do the vibrate.
For the led when i connect it to the PC holding VOL- the red led apear , why?
**** **** **** **** **** **** me , whn it start the rebooting i pressed the VOL+ and = and the power bottom and it start to connect and dis connect again on MTP debugging off mode and after a while i got the green led and flash mode but the ftf waz compressed and while it's extracting the green led gone....
Fixed!!!!
This is small guide what to do:
1- Charge your phone with PC or wall charger until you get a stable red led (Stable led not flashing led) maybe that will take hours.
2- Now connect your phone to the PC , you will find the red led back again.
3- The idea now is that your phone will auto start after some time , you need to be holding the VOL- bottom before it start up that you can get a green led and you can flash the rom with flashtool.
Some times it got start up after like 4 minuits after you connect it to PC , and other times maybe it will take like 20 minuits to start. So you have to hold the VOL- bottom almost the time and there is no problem if you let the bottom for some seconds , but be carefull that it will suddenly boot up so you have to be holding the bottom.
If you success with rom flashing , connect your phone to the charger and wait until it will start first time and get dead , then start again normaly
Charge ur phone with wall charger (its faster than pc) until u get green led. After that, hold Vol - and connect the phone to pc.
Hi i have flash my phone with a miui firmware and everything was ok.
i have update the firmware for error and phone power off. the bootloader was open and i have a custom recovery.
now i cant go in recovery and flashmode and flashtool doesnt see it, when i press power and volume + the phone vibrate for 3-4 times and appears a light blue led and then it power off..
i connected the phone to the pc and i press volume+ and blue led appear, is it fast mode?
how can i do?
the users of this forum are the best
Sorry for my bad english
thanks :_(
That sounds like what happened to me recently. Basically, there are two modes the phone can go in when it's booting up and the USB is connected. One is fastboot mode, where you view the blue LED, which is what you are seeing. The other one, attained by pressing the other volume key, will get you into flash mode with a green LED and will allow you to use the flashtool to re-flash a stock firmware. I'm not entirely sure, but I think it's only if your bootloader is unlocked, but you should be able to try anyway.

If there is activity in the flashtool when you connect then it doesn't matter about the led being lit.

Put it on charge for an hour and try again, and don't let go of the volume button until it starts flashing.
