[Q] Bluetooth mouse & keyboard stuttering / laggy - Galaxy Tab S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
I have had my Tab S Wifi T800 for a long time and have finally got around to wanting to use it more. I bought a bluetooth keyboard and a bluetooth mouse (both Sandstrom, had good reviews) so I could be more productive on the tablet. Connected them both up yesterday and having a few problems. The keyboard can be a little bit laggy sometimes but its not bad at all, however the mouse is terrible. It skips around the screen extremely laggy. I have turned the pointer speed down in my settings but it still skips around now and again, makes it very frustrating to use.
I'm currently running IronRom 5.0.2 on my tablet.
Any help?

Does the mouse and keyboard work better when only the bluetooth is enable and wifi is disabled as they both use the same frequency 2.4ghz and can interfere with each other, dect cordless phones can use 2.4ghz as well.
If the wifi is interfering, yours or others around you, you can get apps so you can see unused frequency bands and set you router to that, but is there an app to show both wifi and bluetooth at the same time?
John.

Turned off wifi and uplugged stuff around me. Its a bit better but still laggy! Skips around a lot less.

I would have a look at wifi and bluetooth apps to locate any interference, try the blutooth apps below.
https://play.google.com/store/search?q=bluetooth scanner&c=apps&hl=en
John.

So downloaded the bluetooth scanner but they cant find anything other than my keyboard and mouse, and it will only find my keyboard or mouse when they are both set to 'searching' for a bluetooth device themselves, so it wont find them if i have already paired them to my tablet, which i guess makes sense.

Having same issue on my Tab S and Note 4.
Have you found any solution yet?

[VIDEO] XOOM Bluetooth Keyboard Woes

Hey everybody,
I've been having problems with getting a bluetooth keyboard working properly with my XOOM for a while now. It connects and pairs fine, all the shortcuts work, it just sticks quiiiiiiiiiiiiiite a lootttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt for extended periods whenever i'm connected to WiFi.
I googled the issue and it seems pretty common, and certainly not just limited to my XOOM or Bluetooth Keyboard. Apparently a wad of Motorola keyboards have been sent back because people have been thinking things are wrong with the keyboard, rather than the tablet itself.
Rumour has it that crosstalk between the bluetooth radio and the wifi chip takes place when you're using an input device such a bluetooth keyboard, and that a poorly coded Bluetooth stack renders the tablet unable to take the input from the keyboard properly. It's really really REALLY annoying, i'm a student and bought my XOOM with a view to using a Bluetooth keyboard in mind, but for the past three months it's never really worked.
I filmed a video and put it on youtube documenting what's happening, but i wanted to ask does anybody else have this issue, and has anybody found a solution?

Bluetooth issues, logitech k810 and android mouse

Okay so I have a stock, white, Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition (SM-600) 32GB version.
I also have a logitech keyboard (k810) and logitech android mouse (3.1+)
When i got the device, i paired my keyboard easily but it would disconnect every 15 seconds or so.
The mouse works somewhat better, however, still disconnects around every 1-2 minutes.
If they are both connected at the same time, both will disconnect every 15 seconds or so.
The tablet seems to get "buggy" and laggy often, if i pair and then unpair the keyboard, requiring a reboot to return to normal function.
On my note 3, my k810 keyboard, galaxy gear, and mouse were all connected along with allshare cast and worked perfectly with no issues for 10 minutes doing my school work.
Anyone have any issues or advice? Similar or different experiences?
It seems to be a common problem: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2538231

Try this
Go to settings > Connections > Bluetooth > Hit menu button > Visibility Timeout > and change it to Never
Wait. That is just for pairing right? Worth a shot anyhow.

You'd think so but it doesnt seem to be the case.
Just discovered this!
I had the disconnecting BT keyboard issue (K810) until someone suggested playing audio thru a BT audio device. Streaming thru my earpiece, the keyboard STAYS CONNECTED until the streaming music stops. Que up a couple CDs worth of audio, the keyboard works great!

I am using the P600 with a K810 keyboard. I'm not sure if it is related to connection, but:
1) a definite problem with typing gibberish. Correct letter followed by a random letter. Tried it with bluetooth music streaming and that seemed to fix the issue.
2) When I use the S-Pen to insert at a certain spot in the text it starts typing vertically, with capitals, etc.
Now ... there are other times (like now) it works perfectly? I see it flash "US English" and "UK English" occasionally on the bottom. I did set bluetooth to always on - perhaps that makes the difference?
I generally like the P600 but the inability to use a common bluetooth keyboard greatly impacts how I can use the P600. Is Samsung listening?

[Q] Problem with Bluetooth headphones and YouTube buffering

Does anyone have a problem with constant buffering when playing YouTube videos (especially HD videos) from the YouTube app while having Bluetooth headphones (or speakers) connected?
This problem seems to only occur when I use Bluetooth and wifi together, as this problem does not happen when I use wired headphones or view videos stored on an SD card. But I can stream Spotify audio while using the Bluetooth headphones without any problems. This makes me think that my wifi connection is slowed down when the Bluetooth headphones are connected, and YouTube videos keep buffering because the tablet cannot download the video fast enough. Is my tablet defective or is this a common bug on the Samsung Note 10.1 2014?
I also have problems with YouTube app...even without bluetooth on. I also have this problem with other bluetooth devices, like my bt keyboard and mouse....

Have you ever reset your bluetooth headset or speakers. It happened to me a couple time. Couldn't connect but after reset my bluetooth devices. It connected and work again. Also sometime my bluetooth headset is connecting to my phone and I m trying to connect it to my note 10.1 2014.

It seems there are some definite issues with bluetooth and this tablet and/or Android 4.3. I've noticed that my headphones disconnect from the tablet if no data is being sent to them for a minute or so, which seems to be similar to the common problem of bluetooth keyboards disconnecting fairly quickly. Although this problem isn't as big of a deal with bluetooth headphones, since data is constantly sent to the headphones.

I tried resetting my headphones, restarting the tablet, turning bluetooth and wifi on and off, but the problem still occurs. My headphones connect just fine to the tablet, and I can see in the bluetooth popup on the tablet that my headphones are connected. I can also stream any audio or video that is stored on the tablet without any problems, as well as stream audio to the headphones. The only thing I can't stream is YouTube videos. Also, these headphones work fine with the other devices I tried them on.

Unfortunately this is a known bug in Android. I am no expert and after doing some light research along the web, I am still not sure if the main problem lays on a physical interference between Bluetooth and the 2'4 GHz wifi signal, in software or in a combination of both.
Some video about this issue: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LbB7H0kk5MU&feature=youtube_gdata_player
I asked a similar question in a "forever alone" post when I faced this problem for the first time with my S4. You will find the link to an informative thread about this topic:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=45227610
Fortunately my GN 10.1 2014 performs very well (no noticeable interference), but I think that my new router, with a wider wifi signal range, did the magic. In theory a 5GHz wifi signal has no interference with the 2.4 GHz Bluetooth signal.
I hope it helps

Thanks so much for the info and the links! I didn't realize that this was a known Android issue. I hope Samsung or Google can fix the issue in the future, although it seems like it has been occurring for at least a year, and it is not clear if it is a software or hardware issue. I'll try using a different router next. My current router is pretty old and doesn't support 5 Ghz, so :fingers-crossed: I'll be able to use bluetooth headphones and watch Youtube videos together.
Thanks again.

I have had the same problem with a bluetooth keyboard and mouse not working correctly, I found if I turn off the wifi radio on p600 I have up to 3 co current bluetooth connection going at he same time. when the wifi is on and active the bluetooth is dropping off think it has to do with wifi 4.0 radio in the tablet or the placements of the attennas in the tablet.
Same thing here
I'm having exactly the same problem. When I connect my p600 tablet to my bluetooth speakers the wifi stops working after a couple of minutes while using my tplink router. If I use my dlink router the wifi speed is greatIy reduced, I can still play "tune in radio" but the conection its to slow for youtube.
Issue RESOLVED on Windows 10 PC
I was having this problem and was breaking my head trying to understand why this was happening...I tested a set of Bluetooth headphones that had no mic and they worked fine, it was only my Bluetooth headphones with a mic when this would happen.
After so much troubleshooting I found that my Bluetooth headset was registering as both a headset and headphones and Windows was enabling the "headset" as the default communication device and the "headphones" as the default playback device. When both were active it made all streaming online videos buffer and never play.
When I disabled one of them the videos started to playback fine after one of the devices was disabled. Hope this helps in some way but I think it is the way the Bluetooth headset is registering as two different devices and causing a conflict. I wouldn't know how to fix this on a Galaxy Note but there may be a setting in Bluetooth connections where you can see this happening in Android like it does in Windows.

thanks this saved me some efforts...I am facing this issue with my Sony TV and Bluetooth speakers.. so was wondering how did it work before and started facing issue now. When I switched to 5G WiFi the issue got resolved. So previously when it worked I must be in 5G WiFi and face this issue when on 2.4G WiFi

Bluetooth Audio Stream Issues

Hi Guys,
I've been using my unit for quite a while now. Everything works fine except for Bluetooth. I'm using the latest Condu's ROM on a KLD device with up to date MCU. When I connect my iPhone and use it to stream songs the sound gets choppy as if it had a RAM outage. However I checked (and purged all processes) the RAM and it's fine, not even near full. What's interesting is that all other apps that are played locally (Spotify, Pandora, TuneIn) works fine. I already formated multiple times without success. Also tried Malaysk ROM once and the problem persisted. Is there any known solution for this?
Thanks,
Turn off the phone's WiFi, it is a known problem for all bluetooth audio devices when streaming close to WiFi as they share the same channel as WiFi.
Hi timk,
I tried with all WiFi off (my phone, the head unit, both combinations) and the problem persistis. I haven't had this problem in any other bluetooth audio device. Any other suggestion?
Thanks,
I have the same problem, electronical fizz in the sound, and it starts after a while not immediately.
I'm having similar issues from my Note 5. Even my Gear S2 seems to have weak connection as I get disconnected on the other side of the room.
Even with iPhones the bluetooth connection was horrible, popping like crazy and drove me crazy after 10 minutes.

Weigav Z10S 4g rear view mirror

Ok, so I had been using my old android phone connected to bluetooth to my 2017 Honda civic to stream music. I am finding that like my office, the more LCD displays the better. I like being able to switch Pandora stations on one screen and change a setting on a GPS tracking device on another while I am driving (less button pushes) so I used my main phone for a GPS and my second older phone over my hotspot to stream. Then I saw theses android rear view mirrors and I thought they would be even better (one more screen) So I bought this Weigav android mirror to see how it would function (hopefully like an android phone). Here is what I have found so far:
The Good:
Connects to my hotspot well
Connects to my Honda head unit over bluetooth for music streaming (this was a bonus as no ads for these android head units specifically said they will connect to bluetooth for streaming, they only say for phone calls)
Pandora and Sirius XM works for streaming
The Bad:
Internal Battery does not seem to last overnight so the system has to re-boot every morning and sometimes I lose the default settings for bluetooth and wifi ON
Navigation is slow to respond. Also Waze seems to have display issues.
UI does not have as many options to control things as I would like
Sometimes it will say "insert SD card" when there is always one in. I was thinking it says this when the SD card is full, but I thought it was supposed to just re-write older video files when it is recording from the front and rear cameras. Sometimes an SD reformat helps, sometimes not.
The Ugly:
It has built in lane departure and front vehicle warning that works too well. It is too sensitive, so it says a lot of false positives. Which wouldn't be so bad except for the fact that you can't adjust the sensitivity or the worst part, YOU CANNOT TURN THESE WARNINGS OFF. This means I get a thousand interruptions over my music I am streaming that I can't turn off. If it had a separate volume control for these, I would just turn it all the way down, but there is only one volume control.
So the question I have is does anyone else have experience with this or any similar device? I know a lot of these issues could be solved in software and I looked everywhere for other ROMs but I haven't found any. I think maybe the next step may be to root it and perhaps delete those sound files for the warnings I can't turn off. If anyone has messed around with this stuff, I would appreciate any advice. Thanks!
