[Q] Copy one FTV to Another, possible?

I was wondering if it is possible to Copy over my flash drive from one FireTV to another one. I am buying 2 more for my house, have my first one set up perfectly with all the side loaded apps, XBMC and all of its settings. For XBMC I do have XBMC Backup - it doesn't remember a few things when I use the backup but it gets it mostly right. But loading all of this took me 1-2 hours.
Just wondering if there is an easier way to get my setup onto the other 2 new boxes.
Might be possible to do what you're trying to do with Titanium Backup, I know it runs on the FTV but I haven't used it for backing anything up yet.

1.) Download and sideload SSH Daemon http://apps.evozi.com/apk-downloader/?id=web.oss.sshsftpDaemon on your configured amazon fire tv box
2.) run ftp client and connect to fire tv, using IP
3.) navigate in the android folder and copy the xbmc folder (SPMC com.semperpax.spmc, XBMC org.xbmc.xbmc) to your computer
4.) sideload SSH daemon on the new fire tv, install the same xbmc or spmc version that is one your first amazon fire tv
5.) use ftp client to connect to the new fire tv box and copy the folder from step 3 into the android folder of the new box.

He wants to backup everything, that could be slow as hell to do over again for every app he has. There are also much easier ways to backup XBMC settings. Titanium Backup should be able to let him backup/restore all his apps and their respective settings at one time.

Thank you! I will try Titanium Backup and let you know how it goes. Thanks for responding!
Hi - did you manage to do this with titanium?
I'm looking at doing this myself also. I've got one FTV set up exactly how did like it and want to copy apk's and all xbmc settings in one.

I use Total Commander for moving files from my computer to my usb stick in my AFTV.
XBMC has config files you can change the location of stuff in them. There is probably a few threads explaining how. I'd do a search.
I use Foldermount to move some of my Xbmc stuff to my usbstick. But I don't download movies thru xbmc, so I don't know if it stores them there.
Google Play store will have your up to date emulators. At the very least, they have links to the dev's websites which usually have the apk's you can download.
I made a directory on my usbstick called ROMS and then I make sub directories, like NES, SNES, GBA, Gen, etc for my roms & bios (as needed).
Thanks for your help! Once I get my 32gb stick tomorrow, I'll get locked down how you said..

Mashup into Amazon Fire Tv
hello;
1. Your amazon must be rooted this will allow to use a usb thumbdrive
2.First, reboot your AFTV with the usb thumdrive connected
3.The rooted AFTV will detect it
4.Look in system, settings, addon, install from zip file
5. Look for the root file system, then storage, sdcard0, then usbstorage and finally sda1,
6. sda1 will be your thumbdrive, from there you locate the mashup.zip file and
install it as any other addon.
I hope it helps you

You shouldn't need Root.. You should just be able to use the AFTV Utility v31 to sideload the mashup.zip to SDCard/Download folder & install it from there. Then use ES Folder Explorer to delete the Mashup.zip to reclaim the space.
are you sure Mashup is working? I thought its offline.
I did the steps u said , but when I get to sdcard0 don't see any usb storage ? after I click on it and I don't see sda1
Mashup into Amazon Fire Tv
if you connect your usb to the aftv before and the turn on the device
the aftv will recognize the usb and then it will presented as sda1
in the root directory as I previous wrote , in order to install the
mashup.zip which is the fix for mashup
thanks
Mashup is gone. The Dev didn't want the liability of potential lawsuits.
still don't see anything ,tried it a few times , got mashup back on my fire tv using adbfire
Not rooted
I emailed the fix to myself, used the fire to save it to downloads. Loaded it in xbmc, no issues.

Kodi running on USB on new Update

Hello
anybody aware of if it is possible not only to move kodi to USB but also the Data ?
it seems that all the Thumbnails still are stored on the Fire TV and not the USB ( and taking up a lot of space) even when Kodi is running from the USB ?

How do you mean running from USB? Using the normal Android 'Move To' option or with a rooted option like FolderMount/Link2SD?
If you are rooted then you can use the aforementioned apps to also move the sdcard/Android/data/... folders to the USB as well which is where the thumbnails live.
If you are not rooted then I believe you can use path substitution for the thumbnails using advancedsettings.xml but it does seem to have its own problems.
See example 2 here: http://kodi.wiki/view/Path_substitution
And a working example here: http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=201788
Thank you for your fast reply .-) - My Fire Tv is not rooted - running the lastest Update from Yesterday
I had hoped that theres was a more "simple solution" Changing the advanced setting on my Fire tv is maybe a little to longhaired for me
i have idea how it ist done ?

Rooted Fire TV 1 apps not showing up in Manage Applications

I have a rooted Fire TV 1 with rbox 5.2.1.1 rom installed (no I don't think this issue is related to the rom) I have a hard drive attached to the Fire TV and have Kodi moved to the hard drive to save space. The weird problem I'm having is that almost none of the apps I have installed on the Fire TV are showing in the Manage Applications section of settings. Even though the apps are installed and I can open them their not showing up in Manage Applications. I am using FolderMount to move game data to the hard drive, but not sure if that is affecting other apps that have not been moved. Has anyone else seen this before. I tried searching the forum for something related to my problem but couldn't find anything so started a new thread. I don't want to do a Factory Reset because I have the Fire TV setup just the way I want it.
appreciate any help on this.

I think i found what is causing applications not to show up in Manage Installed Applications in Fire TV 1 settings. When Xposed is enabled the applications are missing or greyed out. When I disable Xposed Framework the apps show up in Manage Installed Applications. Anyone have an idea how to fix that. I really need to keep Xposed enabled to use the Google Play Store.
thanks.

Found the culprit. Xinstaller Module breaks something in the Manage Installed Applications settings.
