Am I missing something? Where do and how do I activate this at? Thanks,
I have these settings for video size:
UHD 3840x2160 (16:9)
QHD 2560x1440(16:9)
FHD 60P 1920x1080(19:9)
FHD 1920x1080 (16:9)
HD 1280x720(16:9)
VGA 640x480(4:3)
Limit for MMS.
Sorry, sounds like a stupid question but I'm new to all of this. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
According to this article... http://www.extremetech.com/extreme/174221-no-tv-makers-4k-and-uhd-are-not-the-same-thing
"4K is a professional production and cinema standard, while UHD is a consumer display and broadcast standard".
So, on the N4, UHD is it's 4K

OP, I'm confused. Did you perchance change your question? I don't remember you asking where/how to activate the video selections you posted.

Hey guy's been fiddling about with my one x and igcamera from android market, managed to record 1920x1080 video in stereo at 128k audio and 28mbits video at around 29 fps! it's far smoother than the standard crap what htc has left us with! only draw back i can see so far is when you start recording the screen seems to change to some weird aspect ratio?
Settings i used were continuous video auto focus,128k audio.30mbit capture in full 1920x1080 has anyone else used this prog and managed to figure out why the aspect ratio changes when you start recording?

Like the title says, 1080 60fps available? And where can I look at a sample?
I don't know but I'd like to add another thing, the YouTube app is missing the option to view in 1080p 60fps.

That's exactly what I did, but no video has 1080p 60fps under the resolution selection wheel.

Dammm.... Thats weird... Does the screen support 60fps?
Not sure about the 60fps on YouTube. If you want set YouTube playback at 1080p, just play random video and setting, change to 1080p.
I am saying this because mine was set at 480p by default. So I changed it.

It does. At least you can watch 60FPS videos in Youtube via Chrome
yeah I can't choose 60fps options in the YouTube app, viewing the same video on my OPO gives me 720p60 and 1080p60 but OP3 only 720p/1080p

The video has to be uploaded to a higher quality, most videos on YouTube are not higher than 1080p.
I have no issue seeing the 2K resolution when on a video that was uploaded in 2K. See attached photo.
Try the same video I did.

Have you updated your YouTube app?
If so, then the blame falls on Google. I know they have some lists for specific devices and being able to do such capabilities like VP9 playback.
If you are rooted, check this thread out: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-patched-youtube-vp9-60fps-playback-t3418216
It's the one I am using, I had no idea it had an effect on 2K resolution too.
I am not rooted stock and waiting for nougar update....okay i will try contacting google fkr a possible sollution
Solveddddd.......i just uninstalled the installed updates to the youtube app
In other words uninstalling youtube from playstore and then trying playing a 2k video give me 2k resolution.. Updated to latest version again....and working

This tweak requires hardware support, e.g. Snapdragon 200/400 can't work with 4K video.
That's why doesn't work on 520....
I get 30 frames on every resolution Lumia640xl.

Due to low hardware this trick isn't working well for some users.

Hi, strange user @Akki_X. JFYI, 4K video requires, first of all, camera with > 8Mp matrix (3840 pixels × 2160 pixels = 8.3 megapixels, aspect ratio 16:9). So, don't waste your (and others) time for posting this kind of useless and stupid hacks!
@sensboston
I agree. But it is not a stupid post, just one lacking needed research. Plus why open a seperate thread to discuss something that has already been posted...
On a side note. I thought you were upset at how W10M is turning out, interestingly you are still around adding to posts...
Chill dude

I was just asking about this trick because I wasn't sure about this and I thought some of users may could help about this so that I posted. My intention isn't wasting Your time to read this post. Let people try to ho forward, don't push Them behind. E.g- Project Astoria was dead... Now many users are keep focusing on that.
Thanks! ??
@nate0, did you get my point? To shoot 4K video, registry change is not enough (absolutely). First, you must have a 4K capable camera, second - your handset hardware must have enough performance and power to handle 4K video stream. There is no point to "research"; Nokia/MS engineers aren't stupid and nonprofessional. If your phone's camera not marked as "4K capable", you can't (physically) shoot 4K videos. Period.
Changing the registry value to 4 doesn't make your device shoot at 4k, the registry value 4 means the highest your camera support.
i.e. If your device shows maximum capture as 720p but, your camera can shoot 1080p because it supports it, for example 5MP camera, then the value 4 will enable 1080, not 2160(4k).
hello guys I don't know what I've done but I only have 720p now when I go on you tube it only shows 720 p it used to show 1080 and 1080 hdr is there any other settings to get it back I don't know what I've done I have it set to fhd+ , I must of touched something I don't want to restore lol I deleted a few Chinese apps that's all I've done . heres pics of settings
so I changed screen resolution to hd+720p and took a screenshot it shows 720p
I then changed it to fhd+1080p took another screenshot and it shows 1080 as in pics , so my device screen is set properly to 1080p but somehow YouTube only posts in 720? I've uninstalled YouTube and it's still the same any ideas anyone ,,I loved to show off my screen on YouTube hd videos? it used to work
it must be YouTube has they been any updates I checked with a resolution checker and it's 1080p FHD+ when set and 720p when set to hd+
is there any other video settings I can check I didn't think I was a noob I usually sort stuff out
so back again lol when I watch my own videos on YouTube they are 1080p when I watch other people's videos it only goes to Max 720? very strange... I've always used same 4k content to show off my screen at 1080 so it's not the vids
Not sure what's the issue but mine can view in 1080p. Maybe it's really the video?
