It started with edgarf28's amazing Pure Edition Touchwiz rom. I wanted to change some of the Samsung app icons and the horrible looking app drawer icon. Easiest solution would be a 3rd party launcher but I didn't want to mask the Touchwiz launcher, I actually really like it. So I located the APK where the app drawer icon resides and edited to look like the picture above. Keeping Touchwiz "untouched" I downloaded Galaxy Icon Themer (Pro, for the support). It lets you pick individual custom icons from icon packs and assign them to apps. Taking it one step further I extracted the icons and made some size adjustments in Photoshop before loading them back into the device and assigning to each app.
TL;DR
If you're looking to change the app drawer icon, the APK is shown below.
/system/priv-app/TouchWizHome_ZERO_MR1 [Within the APK] res/drawable-sw360dp-xxxhdpi-v13/ic_allapps.png

Here's a picture of my home screen. I like to keep things simple. It's the adw minimalist homescreen. I was wondering if there was a way to get the battery color to not be green.
I was looking at some themes, but didn't want to download the entire theme to just get the status bar.
Is there a theme out there that's super simple like my homescreen?

Oops, hit the thanks button instead of quote. So I'm not sure if there is a like what you want, but the status bar can be modified by changing the framework-res.jar file. If you find a theme with a battery you like, you can grab those images from the framework-res.jar in it to mod your own. (You'll have to search to see which files they are---I'm not a big modder of the file myself.)
Alternatively, you can try using the online kitchen at this site: http://circle.glx.nl/. They allow you to select from a wide variety of battery types where you can customize the color scheme. They also allow you to modify other elements of your framework. After you make your selections, you just upload your existing framework-res.jar and download the one they modify for you. If all you want is to change your battery icon, this is probably your best bet.

So far I've only tried it on ICS+ based roms and on the following devices: GSII, GSIII, GNexus and Tmo Note II. Worked on all.
Oh man if only this (circles widget) worked with Apex launcher. That would be fantastic. Tested on JB it is working but only with the Moto Launcher, which I really don't care for. Anybody know how to "fix" the circles widget to work on other launchers?
Sorry only way to get a widget similar to this one is to download the "One More Clock Widget Free" or the paid app in the playstore and choose the chrome circle clock skin.

Awesome thanks. That'll do.
I am looking for a way in Sense 5 to remove the icon labels without using something like desktop visualizer. I would rather it be system wide instead of creating icon after icon one by one with desktop visualizer.
Thanks
I'd like to know how to do that in sense desktop too..

+1 to this.
It would look much cleaner. The only way to do this now is to use a 3rd party launcher like Go Launcher Ex where it gives you the option. But, you loose the Sense 'desktop' so to speak as well as most Sense widgets and Blinkfeed. Not to mention it does suck some more power/battery.
Would really be great if a dev could come up with this mod only. If it is possible with Go Launcher, then it would be possible as a standalone flashable zip or replacement apk.

Please, what are these small edits? And what call recorder is that icon for? I've been looking for one that works with the ONE.
Basically what the stupidly long title says
I want to use the stock launcher but have the ability to change the icons to more than just the LG ones
Thanks
Download icon changer free from Play and use to create shortcuts of apps on home screen. You can download many free icon packs to use. Note it will only work on the home screen, for system wide you'll need another launcher.

If you have root and don't mind going the tedious method of individually changing the icons of each app, you can extract the icon that you want to use from an icon pack, store it on your phone, and edit the app icon using a custom 1x1 image and use the extracted icon.
Sample of edited AirDroid icon:

Had it on my Nexus 5 previously. Had some problem getting it to work properly for the popular Click UI icon pack (with the icon masks not displaying properly, etc) and the app has not been updated (at least on the Play Store) since Dec 2013, so I don't know if the creator is still supporting it or not.
does anyone know how to get rid of the little green androids on the LG icons in the app drawer?
i am using moonshine + nova launcher and noticed that the LG system app icons remains unchanged.
This is the Edge Launcher @rompit added to the MOAR ROM V6.1 and thanks to him for his guide on how to remove the app labels. THANKS @rompit.
I removed the app labels and added a transparent folder....you can choose any color folder except blue, choosing blue will enable the transparent folder.:good:
WIPE CACHE, AND FLASH.
See pics below. And link is in post #2.

Nice work, I've was using the edge launcher on MOAR, but when i pushed the s6 weather my widget would disappear. It was still there just invisible, I'd have to move it or resize it for it to reappear. Do you know if it does it on this one without the app labels? I switched to the 5x5 and the weather widget works great

Yea it does it still,so i dont think its a launcher issue. But if you use the clock widget that includes the weather ,there is no issues. Only the weather widgets have that problem.
