Hello all.
I see there are already some custom kitkat roms based on the stock kitkat for optimus g f180.
Here is the very stock kitkat rom provided by paulicat on the andoid development. It is good and battery life is awesome, as stock usually is, but there arent a lot of features.
Link to the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2760328
(Thanks paulicat)
Here is the VDT superlite lg rom provided by brontok including nice install instructions for the rom.

The kernel has been rebuilded with some optimizations (based on official sources), network speed statusbar added, and some audio effects.
Don't forget to flash proper patch and then 10h modem
later edit: G3 toggles as default for those of you that can't get it work.

Using the sling rom on my e975, haven't used it enough to give feedback on battery....
But heres some screenies
The first two hours I was using this rom, it felt very slow in animations, keyboard and such, but now that it has been running over the night and had a reboot aswell, its really snappy and responsive!
Sent from my LG-E975 using XDA Free mobile app
I am also on sling rom , very good rom , no korean language or bloatware etc . Battery timings is very impressive

Okay, could you possibly give me the link that you downloaded it from? It could be a bad download for me. And also i flashed it over the stock kitkat by pauli.
Heres how i flashed:
(Twrp) format data n caches
Flash sling
Flash supersu (unneeded?)
Format data n caches again.
Could it be that i would have had to format system too? How did u flash?

Hello,
I have a Galaxy S4 Mini LTE version and installed Carbon ROM Kitkat 4.4.4 from F4k (this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2642488).
Now I installed Tasker from the Playshop. I want to do a call forward with Tasker (triggered ny NFC).
when the task is started (manually of by the NFC app), Tasker claims that call forwarding was correctly done. However, call forwarding is not set up as it should, it seems that nothing actually happened with the telephone itself.
What could that be? possibly KK 4.4.4 is too restriced now?
Maby somebody has an idea, I searched and did not find a solution yet.
Cheers, Frank
You should ask to carbon developer they may have an answer for you... Btw remember carbon rom is a custom rom and they could have some bug.. You should try an stock kk 4.4.2 for your model..

I thought, that root is not really possible with the kernel of the stock ROM.

Thanks for your feedback. I was waiting for a new kernel for KK4.4.2 of Stock ROM.

Many of you know exactly what "oversharpening" is... for those who not, just google "g3 oversharpening" or check this article.
After hours spent trying almost everything i finally managed to remove that. Check in the 2nd thread to see the difference.
Here you go... just flash the kernel in recovery but remember to make a backup of the boot partition before, just in case it will not works.
Remember... the only weird thing is that you have to turn off the screen and then on again to make it works. Just the 1st time after the boot.

First your going to have reception issues with majority of custom roms. But it is easy to fix most issues that can occur.
My faves in order for 5.* sm-n900t are
Pac-rom - very easy to customize and tweak. Also light and fast. It's built from the best parts from many different roms.
Dompop - cool to use lots of different mods and such. Haven't used the latest nightly but one from a month ago had issues with lte signal but was simple to fix.
Cm 12.1 - although not as good as cm10 or cm12 was, 12.1 is a great Rom that shows off the experience the developers have gain over the countless roms for countless devices they've done.
Reply back and I can do you a quick tut and direct links to files needed. Currently using twrp and pac-rom 5.1.2

If you want to do official 5.0 the just use Odin and open up lollipop in it and flash. If any force closes the clear cache and stuff followed by reboot. If you going to kitkat I usually install tw lp clean then do the down grade since I find that note 3 will usually have issues any other way. Make sure you do backups of you modem and efs always in case of corruption.
Personally I just use full backups so I have all my apps logins and such on booting.

To be honest with you it was FC a lot and I couldn't get it to work right. Which Kernel are you using?
Which camera did you choose in Aroma - N4 or S6? I was thinking to pick the N4 because it might have better S-pen support, on the other hand maybe the S6 has more advanced features being of the newer software.
I was wondering if in general Samsung might be trending to lighter apps, less menu options, etc in the S6/N5.

I had stock official 5.0 on N900T. First I installed Norma S6 but a lot of bugs. I only do full wipe format from stock 5.0 to Norma s6 and then I have done same from Norma S6 to DarkLord N5. Kernel is DarkLord, thats I got when I installed DarkLord N5 RC.
Soo.... I have JOINED the G3 bandwagon!!!
I purchased a G3 , rooted it , installed TWRP.
Now I need a very stable rom but Im having difficulty picking as I dont understand whats compatible with my phone.
I have a LG G3 D855

Im on android 5.0 stock.

Problem is I got the earphone hissing problem on stock rom
Hi there @Heloooo you should decide between this two roms:
1. CloudyG3 ( version 2.5 ) ( based on stock )
Or
2. Blisspop ROM ( based on CM )
The Paranoid rom is also promising just like the PAC which is promising too.
CloudyG3 is probably the best sollution for G3. Fast, stable, completely compatible with G3 hardware..
I would go for cloduy g3 1.2 with stock kernel just some minor tweaks like sched and oom.
for the sound problem there is a solution http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=59601465&postcount=150

Most likely hardware related.
