I have an Xperia M C1905, I was using the phone with stock 4.3 JB, with locked bootloader, rooted with towelroot. The device was working properly, infact it is my secondary device which I only use to take photos as it has some network problem. About a week ago, the battery died, so I left it as I wasn't using it. Then after 3 to 4 days, I plug it to charge, no LED was indicating it was charging, I left it and went away. Then after 2 hours, I came back and notice no LED. Then I did unplug it. After 2 days, I removed the battery and plug it into my universal charger, the battery was charging. But when I put into the phone. Still not powering up. I did try testpoint, does not detect. What should I do?
Thanks in advance!

Hi, my 6 week old xperia arc suddenly went dead and does not switch on. None of the led lights are on, whether I charge it with its cable or other chargers. I removed the battery and put it back on; tried the software update yet the PC can't detect the phone.
I would like to try flashing it before I take it to the store and test a different battery. Flashing seemed to work for someone in this thread with the same "symptoms" : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=829850
I would be surprised if it was the battery after 6 weeks and an excellent battery life of one day and half throughout...
Could someone tell me how to flash the phone? Cheers, Alex
P.S.: Carrier is T-mobile, phone is great, can't say I regret switching RIM for Sony but I was expecting the software to be a bit more glitchy...
If it's of any relevance: if I press the power on button it vibrates a bit when its not connected to the mains. if I continue pressing it it vibrates a bit every 6/7 seconds. The leds are never on.
Have you tried the flashtool?
Try this :

More likely the battery or charger / cable is gone. Because if there is no LED what so ever then there is no power.
After my Optimus G shutoff due to a low battey, it won't charge and boot anymore. I've tried plugging it into the computer and also tried 2 different chargers but still the phone won't charge. Is there a way to try to make it boot again?
My phone is rooted, but the bootloader is locked and I installed the E975 V20A kitkat rom trough a KDZ file because kitkat is not yet supported in my country. Could my phone still be returned under warranty?
Let it charge at the wall charger for at least 30 minutes, then try to press the power button. I have gone through that too. Does your phone show red led? Or it doesn't do anything at all? Let it charge at the wall charger for at least 15~30 minutes. I was scared too when it happened to me, I thought my phone had died. I had 7% and suddenly it turned off and didn't want to turn on showing red led and it didn't show as if it were charging, but after 10 minutes plugged in to the wall charger it started showing that it was charging.
I had already let it plug in for 20 minutes, but there was no red notification LED. After about an hour on the charger the LED started blinking and the phone went into a bootloop. Then I tried some button combinations and the phone turned off and charged. Everything is OK now, but it got me worried indeed!
My Device's battery is dead and isn't charging. It is just showing the blinking white led light.
So, I was just playing a battery drainer game while charging, and when i swiped down, the battery was at 3%. I shut the game down and left my nexus for charging. When i came back, the device had turned itself off. i tried getting into the bootloader menu and powering it on, but the led light blinked 5 times, showing it did not have enough battery. I left it charging and slept. But it still showed that it did not have enough battery. I tried three different chargers including the stock one. It is currently connected to my pc. It is still not charging. But the computer does say that the device is not recognised. It is rooted using towelroot and running CM and PA using MultiROM Manager. Also, when it was not rooted, I had been able to use otg. But i tried using otg the day before, and my N7 would not recognise it! And I think it was charging just fine when it was on. My N7 is still under warrantly, but can you flash stock and unroot when the battery is dead? Any other suggestions would be welcome. Please reply fast! Thank You in advance!!
EDIT: After Trying To Install Drivers, It showed QHSUSB_DLOAD. I learnt that It was a hard brick, but I did not do any dangerous things. Also, How can I recover? Will Wug's Still work?
EDIT EDIT: The Toolkit does not work. I also learnt that it could happen when the internal memory is completely drained. And I had it running on 0% quite a few times....
Hi! Yesterday my Sony Xperia S was doing some strange things one of them being that when I disconnected it from the charger the phone was still displaying "charging..." When I realized it, the battery had dropped from 100% to 30% in about 6 hours (with no use!). Anyway I connected it to PC USB and after 10 minutes the battery hadn't charged a bit... (Most time I charge the phone via PC USB so USB port is OK). As I had to leave I took the phone with me and It seemed to operate normally. (Now phone displays discharging.) However the battery dropped to 0% and the phone as it was expected closed. My problem now is that even leaving the phone to socket charger for an hour the phone refuses to charge. (after 30-min in socket charger it boots and it turns off because of low battery (0%)) Even when I shutted down the phone, when it tried to open(to charge while off) it would turn off after 10 minutes, even when displaying "charging"... Any clue? Does the battery need replacement or is it something wrong with phone software/hardware? When the phone is completely dead a red light appears...
If it matters I am using Android 6 Oneofakind custom ROM for about 2 months.
Thank you for your time reading this...

Yes it matters...although you are getting strange charging behaviour but the fact is you can't charge your phone while its off with a wall charger.now I am shocked how could be you manage to upgrade your xperia s to marshmallow while you don't know the rules of XDA that read carefully and proceed.it is clearly mentioned on one of a kind thread that offline charging is not working on one of a kind marshmallow ROM for xperia s.now go to that thread and read the first page how to recover. After that use battery calibration app to fix your strange battery behaviour.
Please always read the OP/first post of a ROM thread before installing it.
Follow the above advice.

Z5 Premium not turning on
hello everyone,
PLEASE HELP ME!
My z5 premium was working fine.. battery was charged too, and suddenly it turned off, and it didn't turn on back again. I've tried all the different ways and solutions that should turn it back on:
hard reset didn't work
2 minutes hard reset didn't work
hard reset button didn't work
plugged it in using it's OEM charger and usb cable didn't work either and LED didn't lit up
plugged it in to the computer nothing happened, wasn't detected with no sign of life
I had to take off it's battery cover (using professional tools) unplugged the battery, connected the phone to the charger while the battery is unplugged, and nothing happened reconnected the battery back, and plugged the phone again to it's wall charger, and no sign of life.
i left it there all night long since the afternoon. and when i came back in the next morning to check if the phone is charging and the LED is lit up, but again NO SIGN OF LIFE!
(BTW, the phone is in mint condition and it was never been disassembled or repaired)
Please if anyone have an idea what this could be?
if anyone has encountered the same problem and went through the same of what I've been, and was able to repair it or find a solution PLEASE LET ME KNOW!
Now, I'm thinking of 2 things: either the battery is completely dead(damaged) or it's the mainboard which I don't hope to be.
PLEASE LET ME KNOW YOUR THOUGHTS ABOUT THIS!
Now, forget about any sort of software repair, as I explained above, the phone didn't succeed in that.
So, any help or suggestion would be so much appreciated.
Thank you all for taking time in reading and participating in this topic.
Have a good day.

Not happy reading this thread. Why so many issues with Sony Android... Anyway;;
- I recently had the same issue - or an issue in the same ball park. Phone Just died and refused to charge, but would show a red LED and try to boot when plugged in.
- Sent it to Sony, Hoping it is only a dead battery
The OP sounds like a they have a USB port issue or a board issue, also OP phone will no longer waterproof after removal of cover.
Unclear as to whether you have tried the following;
- Turn on whist holding camera button instead of Volume up/down. it is worth a try
- Try to grab an official sony charging cable- basically impossible to buy nowadays, maybe a PS4 controller cable? try it
My stock unrooted Z5p died like this in April. Have the same issue as the OP and tried all the same solutions. My Z5p had only been used indoors for months with WiFi before sudden death. Replacing the charging port did nothing. Using the OEM cable and charger with a new battery gets a 2 sec red light when connected to power and starts booting up until the swirls (gets past Sony Xperia and powered by android screens). Then the screen goes dark and shows the big battery for a couple of seconds.
I didn't realize there was a sudden death problem with Sony phones until I started trying to fix this. What's even crazier is that I had (have) the Xperia Z, Z Ultra, and the Z2. The Z2 was used in the rain constantly and even survived an ejection from a handlebar mount at 15mph onto asphalt. (All these phones were rooted and using custom ROMs/kernels.) Seems like Sony has a serious QC issue they're not taking about.
