Evening all,

I am familiar with adb, fastboot commands and TWRP but for some reason I cant achive the following
1. Unable to remove Xposed, uninstalled factory reset wiped cache etc
2. Cant run SunShine as a result of Xposed
3. Cant flash RUU or .Ziip every time it tries i get a failure both using TWRP or via ADB
I am trying to return my handset to 100% stock and spent the last 6 hours on google following guides but think I am missing something simple
Any suggestions.

What are you trying to run, exactly?
You can only run an RUU if its intended for your CID and MID.
If there is a stock nandroid (made before Xposed was installed) then restore that.
Otherwise, restore the 4.20.770 stock nandroid found here (with instructions): http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/help/tutorial-how-to-stock-stock-twrp-t3086860

HTC M8 TMO Signature error 12 Can't get back to stock

I am fixing this phone for a friend. He gave me the phone with TWRP installed, and Bootloader unlocked with S-OFF ON.
I tried to relock bootloader to flash stock RUU_M8_TMOUS_1.57.531.7 and it fails with error 12 bootloader signature verification error.
Then relocked the bootloader and got into twrp. Nothing will mount. The phone won't clear cache, Data, system , Dalvik or anything else.
I tried to restore a nandroid backup and it fails. Literally everything fails, and all fastboot flashes end with error 12.
What is the bootloader signature verification error 12? Please help me, I'm kinda stumped.

Unlock the bootloader, adb push the correct nandroid backup to the phone. Fastboot flash the boot.img and perform a full wipe and restore the backup.
Cause you're S-ON you can't flash an older HBOOT onto the phone so the RUU will fail

[Q] Reverting back to Stock from GPE - all of my research

I purchased my phone T-mobile M8 used and it had been converted to GPE. There is a crackling issue with the top speaker and I'd like to return it for warranty repair. I haven't seen a great thread on converting back to stock from GPE so I thought I'd share the research I have done - even though I have not been successful yet...
With adb/fastboot, drivers, etc all in place...
Reset Status to LOCKED (phone must be rooted to do this)
http://www.droidviews.com/how-to-reset-unlocked-status-to-locked-on-htc-one-m8/
Flash firewater custom hboot
file: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=52848006&postcount=125
flashing instructions: http://firewater-soff.com/hboot-downloads/
Change your CID to T-MOB010 in Fastboot
command: fastboot oem writecid T-MOB010
Download the RUU
http://dl3.htc.com/application/RUU_M8_TMOUS_1.57.531.7.exe
Run the RUU in Windows. Everything connects and it starts installing then - I get the Error 159 [IMAGE]
I have followed the steps above, downloaded twice, repeated and still...no dice. Any clue what I'm missing? I'm sure there will be other folks who need to revert and would benefit from this.

Did you relock the bootloader before running the ruu? For whatever reason it needs to be relocked before an ruu will complete

Did you get the unlock code from the HTCDev website yet? You will need it to unlock your bootloader. Then you will have to unlock it using fastboot and ADB, or maybe terminal emulator but I'm unsure about doing it that way. You won't be able to do it from your SD card.
Are you just trying to unlock your bootloader, or are you trying to gain root?
yes of course i have unlock file am trying to Wipe the Phone hard reset not doing any thing wipe from recovery all nothing phone remains the same after all of that even when i try to enter Ruu flash mode phone just restart and opens up

RUU mode is wrong as well.
Go to this site and read the instructions. It will explain everything you need to do. It also has a video you can watch to see the whole process before you proceed.
This is the method and site I used to unlock/root my M8. I always use @zedomax's tutorials to root my stuff. He does a great job of going through the steps.
I have the same issue
No wipe possible
no way to unlock bootloader
hard reset not working
The phone have the same notification (if you erase all notifications, when the phone restarts, they come back)

Tried to install VemonOne and now have a messed up phone with no OS

Ok, i tried to install VenonOne, it installed first time but my wifi didnt work, so i searched around and found out i needed to update my firmware, which needed S-off, which i cant becuase i dont have the money for sunshine. and problem after problem and following half arsed tutoials online solved nothing. i can only go to bootloader and recovery. not sure what to do,
i have twrp installed
Im a D*ck head and didnt make a backup becuae it 'looked easy enough'
any help would be great. would like to be using venomone but atm any os will do
Every rom i install cause the wifi to not work, i press to turn it on and nothing
Thanks guys

You probably realize it at this point; but my rule of thumb is always make a backup before flashing anything (or at a minimum, have a known good backup or known good ROM ready to flash). Its got nothing to do with how "easy" a process is. Things can go wrong even with the simplest mods, to the most knowledgeable users, and even if you do nothing wrong.
You don't need s-off to update your firmware.
Either run a Lollipop (or Marshmallow) RUU intended for your CID (relock bootloader in order to RUU). Keeping in mind that this will wipe the phone.
Alternately (such as if there is no RUU for your version), restore a stock ROM that corresponds to your current firmware, restore corresponding stock recovery. Then do OTA update, which will also update your firmware.
After updating the firmware by either of the 2 above methods, just flash TWRP back onto the phone (in case of the RUU method, you'll need to unlock the bootloader again, before you can flash TWRP) and flash your custom ROM of choice.
If you do fastboot getvar all, and post the results (delete IMEI and serial numbers) we can offer some more specific assistance.
thanks for taking your time to help,

HTC One M8 - Having trouble updating to 6.0

Hi guys,
I have tried what seems like 10+ ROMS, I have flashed them using TWRP and the closest I have gotten to 6.0 was being stuck on the new google logo screen.
Currently I am running Cyanogenmod cm-12.1-2015090.
my getvar all is as follows,
(bootloader) version: 0.5
(bootloader) version-bootloader: 3.19.0.0000

I am now open to the idea of taking it back to stock, except I'm not sure how to do that either

You need to update your firmware, and a ROM won't do that for you.
Download this firmware and place it into your fastboot folder. Then hook up your phone to your PC, and enter these commands:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip M8_6.12.1540.4_DevEd_NoWipe_TWRP3001.zip
The flash will halt at 75% to 90%. That's normal and gives you a chance to check the console output to make sure that it's safe to reboot. With most errors it is. If you get error 90, re-run the zip with the same "fastboot flash zip" command as above. Same goes for error 152.
After you've checked your console, enter fastboot reboot-bootloader to complete the firmware flash

Downloading it right now to try,
Once I update the firmware, is there a specific ROM that is tailored to my phone?
Also is my phone considered "Developer Edition"?
Thank you so much for the reply, I have spent hours on this and it seems I may be nearing the end.

Yes, your MID and firmware are DevEd.
As far as ROMs go, anything in the general M8 development forum (not in the Sprint or Verizon forums) should work for you

Thanks for all your advice, unfortunately no other ROM aside from Cyanogenmod will work.
I have updated the firmware and tried the HD ROM, Skydragon ROM, GPE ROM.. they all say installed but none will boot.
Edit: I had made a stock recovery from a long time ago and when I recover and try to do the OTA update the phone restarts and takes me to TWRP Recovery.
