When I swipe left on my watch I have another menu. The middle one looks like a contacts menu, but it only lists a couple random people from my Exchange contacts. What generates this list of contacts?
Make them a favorite on your phone.

Hi all,
I am running a completely stock HTC Desire and I have a really strange annoying problem.
The problem is if I add a new contact, it adds the person, as when I am on "Phone" and tap the numbers to spell their name they appear.
Also if I go into google mail and contacts, I can see the contact.
What I cant see is the contact in the "People" application.
This is really frustrating and I was wondering if anyone had any idea how I can fix this? Just to note, I am adding contacts setting them to my google group exactly the same as I have always done. Im not sure when this started to happen.
Thanks for your time.
When adding the contact via phone, are you ensuring the contact type at the top is a Google one?
When adding the contact via Gmail, are you ensuring the contact is added to teh 'My Contacts' group?
Try this...
Go into your Contacts.
Hit your Menu key and select Display Options.
Select your GMAIL account.
Make sure there are checkmarks in each of the lines, especially "All Other Contacts.
Click Done.

I like to have my contacts to have their Facebook profile pictures but, I don't want to have all my Facebook contacts on my phone. I have selected to only sync with current contacts. But, it still puts all of my Facebook friends on my phone. It wouldn't be a problem since under "People" I can select to see only "google contacts" but, they are there when I open my "Dialer" on my phone. It used to just sync with my phone contacts and wouldn't put all of them on my phone. This is highly annoying because it used to work when I got my evo last summer. Anyone have any advice to sync my current contacts with out all of my Facebook contacts being synced? Thanks!
Go into People. Then hit Menu, click view. At the bottom, uncheck Facebook contacts and they'll disappear. One other thing that you can do if you use your gmail for contacts as well as email is check "only with phone number. There are lots of other options in there.
Yeah tried it but they still show up and I still have to sort and search for my real contacts in the dialer. Guess ill just have to deal with it. Thanks for the help tho

Here is what I'm trying to do. I would like the "contacts" app to display only the contacts that i have saved to my Google account. I would like those contacts to have their pictures imported from Facebook. If there are contacts with names that don't match their Facebook name exactly, I'd like to be able to link them up.
What is happening right now is that if I only sync existing contacts with Facebook and/or Haxsync, I end up with a LOT of missing pictures. When I "sync all", I end up with all of my Facebook friends populating my contacts app.
Maybe I'm doing it in the wrong order? I assume I can remove my Facebook and Haxsync apps (or clear data), then clear data in the contacts app to start from scratch. What are the steps I need to take from there/
1. Only Google contacts displayed.
2. Contact pictures populated from Facebook.
3. Ability to join names without exact match.
Thank you in advance for the help.
You can sync all with the Facebook app, then join the contacts for the profile pictures within each contact (there is a merge/join contacts option). For names that don't match, they let you manually choose whoever you want to merge, so names don't have to be the same. After that is all done, go to your contacts and click the menu button, there should be an option "Contacts to Display". Hit that, then select your Google account. Enjoy

The other part is that if you hit the menu button in contacts and select "Contacts to display" (you may have to scroll the list down), you then can go down to "Custom List" and click the gear icon to the right. That will allow you to select which contacts display on your phone.
Hi guys, anyone here using the standard Sony messaging app ... when you go to "add recipient" (by pressing the three dots ...) to bring up your contacts list, is there any way that I can display only phone numbers?
It is showing every single contact including email addresses and duplicate numbers all on their own separate line. This is really annoying if I want to browse my contacts list, because it is so damn long! Like 400 items to scroll through!
When i go into my contacts via the phone/calling app, it has a bunch of options to "filter" by phone numbers but does not affect how the messaging app displays the contacts.
Anyone else get this issue?
For some strange reason I still haven't figured out, all my contacts are double entries in the stock "Contacts" or "Dialer" app. One of the 2 entries is the normal one, and the other consist only for whatsapp. I don't understand why it's seperate on this phone. Never had this problem before.
How can I fix this? I know there's an option to hide the Whatsapp numbers (unchecked in "what to show" option in Dialer/Contacts), but that will take also the conveniance of quickly selecting someone out of contacts to call or message via whatsapp.

This is how i do it... go to Contacts and go to the Whatsapp contact, you have to press the edit icon, and it asks you to join the number.. after that it says it's joined, then you see it's one Contact only.

Your contacts library is sync to Gmail or reside in phone storage or saved in SIM card?
I have noticed exactly the same issue.
All my contacts are in Gmail.
You can merge duplicate contacts in contacts settings.

We can always display Gmail contacts only. Goto:
Contacts > three-dots icon > Contacts to display > Select Gmail account.

Yes, but the only downside is that if you search a contact, all copies (double, triple, ...) Are shown again.:cyclops:
