What update is this?
@Sunderwear
Are you rooted?

Chatted on t-mobile site. They said they don't show anything about it but if it's a system prompt then go ahead and take it. Might just be a test but if it's a Samsung build go ahead.

how do we get it ? of8 is running great
Well, whatever I did to get this new "build" was not good. I keep getting this "phone has been flashed with unauthorized software, phone has been locked" message that I cannot get rid of. Everytime I I try to Odin back to G925TUVU2COF6 I keep getting the unauthorized software message and then it keeps telling me to download this update, G925TUVU2D0G3. But basically I cannot connect to the data, phone or messaging. If I do connect via Wifi, my messaging works but not my phone. I called T-Mobile and they pretty much said I am ****ed without lube. They told me to try calling Samsung but I am not sure what to do. Also, I am not rooted, I was trying to get rooted on 5.1.1 and that is how this whole mess started.

Yeah thats what I was afraid of. Basically, after talking to samsung, the IMEI on phone has changed to an invalid on somehow. Is there anyway or anyone who can change the IMEI back to the original one? Keep in mine my phone is not rooted, thats how this whole problem started... trying to get rooted.
PM sunderwear. He will fix all problems
What's Sunderwear's magical powers?

****! Wish I would have seen this before I called this other guy. I did pay $85 bucks to have a guy fix my phone remotely. He did a great job and my phone now works and is unlocked but it was quite expensive.
Hummm I thought a read a thread with a similar situation

So I installed CWM-SuperSU_v0.87.zip, got Wicked v10 loaded and my SD card stopped working. Tried clearing cache/resetting to defaults. Didn't work.
Downloaded T999UVDLJA_T999TMBDLJA_TMB and restored to factory. external SD started working again but now I'm in 2G mode.
I noticed my IMEI had been wiped, so I restored that using NV-items reader_writer...
I didn't back up anything before I did this, and I'm probably going to pay for it. I don't care if I have to ship this off to a trusted member to get it fixed, I'd rather just not have to spend another $300 to get a 4g phone again.
If anyone has some input, I'm all ears. I'm not completely daft, just careless.
What phone do you have?? If all was right with what you installed and you have checked you have "3g/4g" enabled not just GSM then follow all the steps in the recovering 4g thread. This has been brought up about 1000 times in this forum about restoring it and still not seeing "4g" just follow steps and read up.

I have the same problem with my IMEI disappearing an only being on 2G. Did you have a backup of your IMEI or how did you restore it with the NV-items reader_writer? I am curious because I don't have a backup of my IMEI and I have that util...but the other utility to re-write the file to be uploaded seems to have disappeared off the internet and the only copies I have found have been infected with multiple virus'.

Didn't take any sort of precaution... I just started flashing ROMs without reading anything. I actually ended up hard bricking the thing and I'm now waiting for the phone to come back from a JTAG repair. I ended up buying another S3 off of craigslist and doing a nvbackup and andromodizer backup before I did anything else. I'm now running cm10.1 with 4g. I'll probably just keep my 2g'd phone as a backup. My only guess as to the now MIA program is that it could be used to circumvent IMEI blacklists... Which sucks.
Hi guys. Could someone please test my app root call blocker 2 on the trltetmo?
Ive had reports of issues, cant check as im in europe. On our side of the pond everything up to and including BOB7 works fine.
Any ROM will do. Ideally would like a test on lollipop too if anyone has it installed.
You can use this link or go to the main thread in my signature:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fahrbot.apps.rootcallblocker.beta
Thanks in advance!
I have had issues where RCB has broken my wifi calling. I will give this a shot and see how it works. This is bar none the best call blocking app I've ever used and have tried almost everything on the market. While unrelated, I wanted to be sure to drop props your way.
---------- Post added at 07:05 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:03 AM ----------
Side note, I have RCB Pro installed and it says there is a version conflict. I am fine with helping out, but will there be reduced functionality?

Stock deodex has issues right away. Did everything from clearing caches to trying to wipe data from app and still same thing. Enabled debug log but froze my phone. Upon reading other review the guy was right it shuts off the radio on off just by watching the phone. Funny thing is what ever it changes now I have the issue even when app is uninstalled. Will report back what fix is for that.

Could you elaborate please? Does random mean once at first run/every boot, or is it literally random as in it happens all day? Also did you make any test any calls?

Also seeking some elaboration here - what are "issues right away" please? What actually happens? Have you waited until you get the RCB service started notification?
Its supposed to restart the radio at first run and at every subsequent boot. Also it is not possible to uninstall it without rebooting - to remove the daemon, a reboot is necessary.

Wish I had better luck with my update. Mine keeps getting an error 402 when I try to install the update. I tried to use the Verizon software upgrade assistant software but it keeps saying my phone is updated already.
I am having the same error 402 problem. I have tried clearing the cache, factory reset, updating via the upgrade assistant, etc. No luck so far on anything I have tried.
I have been talking with Verizon support all day but still no luck. I will post back if I find a solution.
Is there a reason firmware files are impossible to find for this model? I'm using mine on at&t and can't upgrade the normal way so I'm guessing my only shot would be to borrow someone's Verizon sim card. Was hoping Smart Switch would trigger the upgrade like it has in the past.

First time poster. Anyone having issues with doze not working on this variant? Getting 10-20% drain nightly. Was having mediaserver keep it awake draining 30%. After finding and uninstalling the app causing that Gsam showing hish usage by the system. Doze have never turned on since downloading update. And I too had the download problems on the OTA. First attempt took 4 hours and got to 99% and failed. Second attempt took about as long but finally worked.
Only issue I've found so far is the default gallery does not show Downloaded images, and yet when I plug the phone into my laptop I can see them in the Download directory. I had to download another gallery called QuickPic, which is a ton better than the factory gallery, and it displays everything as it should.
Other than that, I had no problems with the download or update. I downloaded OTA via WiFi on the phone itself and installation went smoothly. Battery life is significantly better with its default "snooze" mode it goes into when the phone is idle for a period of time.

Update Marshmallow G928V
I brought s6 edge plus (SM-G928V) Verizon unlocked phone and I am using T mobile connection on phone.
So the problem is : My phone doesn't show any marshmallow update. I think, its because of T mobile sim .Since, i am not using Verizon connection.
I tried to update the phone with samsung smart switch. When i connect the phone with SMart switch, it does show the Marshmallow update but when i click on update it nothing happens.
I searched for Verizon marshmallow FirmWare link for s6 edge plus, but i could not find any ?
Could you please sent me link so that i can update with Odin or is there any other way to update it.
Just some help
Heya folks, I bought a sparkling new Verizon galaxy s6 edge plus at a lucrative price of USD 350. It's unlocked and I'll be using in India I just bought it because of the sale price.
Now do I understand that Verizon version has locked bootloader and no root at all. Will they give bootloader anytime in the future? Also does one need a Verizon Sim card for getting updates? I'll be using in India how will I get updates then? Anyone else who has bought unlocked version pls help me. Cheers folks thanks a ton.

Problem is, I don't know which password it's referring to.

All Samsung phones ask u for a password or pattern when you restart. It is referring to tge one you created at the time of setting up your finger print

The thing is, I never created a password! I have always left it as swipe to unlock. I use the LED cover case, so it unlocks as soon as I open the case.

Thanks.
My device just went crazy. But it miraculously allowed me to get back into Android as usual. Needless to say, backed up everything. And now it's back to crazy.
Now to decide whether to bring it to Samsung now or wait for the Note 7 exchange.
This issue is somehow related to the boot loop issue that is being experienced by some. And me. One of my Note7 is showing this prompt once in a while when it gets into boot loop. Then when I key in the Android unlock PIN, it says its wrong. What I am doing now if I encounter this prompt is to hard reset (Power + Vol Down buttons) the unit.
i had this issue during set up.. i just swapped out my sim card with my old one and it worked lol. haven't had this happen after set up though. factory reset?
My unit is completely busted. Samsung actually suggested I bring it for the recall exchange instead of repairing it.
So currently, they've loaned me a Galaxy S6 to tide me over.
Now I wonder, even when I get my replacement Note 7, the phone is still susceptible to the boot loop issue, right? This don't seem to be related to the faulty battery at all.
I emergency reinstalled custom ROM through SMART SWITCH, and rooted my phone, added TWRP and installed SuperMan ROM, In the time I did this I never applied a single password/code/pin/fingerprint. Now when I turn on the phone, it comes up with "To start up your device, enter password", I still have gone through and tried every password I could think of and not a single one worked. Now I can't use my phone at all. please help.

This is a complete brick error. You cannot fix it not even a service centre can. I have spent serious hours trying since about 10 days ago it is not worth the hassle trust me. You'll just have to wait for your replacement

I asked Samsung and they said it's a "firmware issue".
Unbelievably, they couldn't recover my data inside. Luckily I made frequent backups in the cloud.

Hello. This is locked to Bell. It already got the 60% battery update a while back.
I will NOT be using this as a phone. It will be used for other purposes like outdoor remote wifi cam or something so I need the wifi working.
Is there any way to block the Wifi / Bluetooth killing update or root it and install a custom ROM ?
Again, I don't care that they blacklist the IMEI. It won't be used as a phone. Thx.
Nevermind. I solved it. No thanks to XDA lol

Flash a custom rom first and then flash a custom kernel. All will be back to normal :good:
I have a note 5 rooted running a note 7 rom and I keep getting the message from Samsung popping up on my phone to return it - I hope they don't disable my cellular / wifi / Bluetooth - wonder if I should flash a note 5 rom to be sure

That's not a smart idea... Very risky. I'd flash a Note 5 ROM.

Its not an issue according to me because if they have to disable cellular etc then it will be in form of a stability update to trick people. Your phone will be affected only if the developer of the note 7 rom uses a new base firmware. Since you have a note 5, they cant even disable your imei number just because you use grace ux. I would prefer deleting samsung push service, Fota update service & KLMS agent apks from root (There can be something i am missing. If so please specify). Perhaps it may stop those messages

I also have the Bell version, Snapdragon. Where can I find a Custom Rom/Kernel that works with my version, SM-N930W8? Thanks!

I am completely new here, sorry. So does that mean it is completely dead after the 15th and can't really do anything about it?

Well, what do you guys use to back everything up on the computer such that if the block indeed happens I don't end up loosing everything?

Im counting the days brother.
Laugh, told my gf her phone may not work after 15th, she almost killed me. Shes messaging me now as we speak. Telling me how much she loves Nova luncher and how cool her phone looks now.
ahah funny how she never got the sms from rogers informing of the block.
I went over to see her yesterday. Flashed her phone again, blocked everything like mine with debloater, just in case. (she didn't have anything blocked and update never was pushed suprisingly.)
Now its fishing time. Sitting quietly, waiting to see what happens.
p/s (ive been messaging few people on kijiji on imei fix, so far no luck.)

I thought part of the update will disable charging? That means if the juice runs out the phone won't even turn on right? Sorry for the novice questions.
