Trying the impossible: Bada 2.0 on Wave 533 and 525. - Bada Software and Hacking General

Welcome to my thread, where I will try to install Bada 2 on Wave 533 and 525. I am testing on Wave 533 but it's compatible with Wave 525 since they are the same but 533 has a physical keyboard.
The project started when I saw a topic "New special feature in new firmware in Wave 3". There was a newest version of TouchWiz for Bada devices. The Touchwiz files were on .smt and on .rc1 file extensions. (.smt is a file extension for changing the theme in Bada which is executed through the phone and .rc1 is executed when flashing it to the phone.)
When I tried the .smt file, it failed. The same results with .rc1.
My gear for testing:
Samsung Wave 533 with Bada 1.1 (S5330XXLD1)
My gear for flashing:
A desktop computer running Windows 8.1 x64, USB 2.0 ports.
I am not a programmer and I am not going to try to program Bada 2.0 which works on Wave 533 and 525. I am going to try methods and ROMs other developers/people have made.

OK... Founded some bad news...
I have downloaded the Touchwiz that I talked in a previous post but for Wave 2 (last time I tested the .rc1 for Wave 1) and I flashed it without any problems but after rebooting the phone I got the bootloop. I flashed normal .rc1 and then flashed the modified .rc1 again but I got the same problem. The same problem appears in a newest available firmware and oldest available firmware.
Going to experiment further.

(double post)

So now I have tried to flash Bada 2.0 for Wave 2 on my 533 (of course I did not think that it will work but maybe?) and that did not work. So I flashed the firmware (S5330XXLD1, Value Pack for Wave 533) back and tried flashing files one by one with Wave 2 Bada 2.0 files and that did not work either.

I have been reading about ROMs and other things about Bada for the past couple hours and I figured a thing.
The Wave 723 is about the same as Wave 525 and 533 and it has Bada 2.0, so just easy flash and easy Bada 2.0 for 533 and 525? Well, no, because Wave 723 has a 600MHz processor, 300MHz more powerful than 525 and 533 but the other parts are pretty much the same so I am going to try flashing Wave 723 Bada 2.0 firmware and then I will post the results.

I am very sorry for not posting anything for the last week, I was on vacation but I am back now and we can do more experimentations!

I excuse for not being very active on this project but I had some problems in the end of the summer and after the summer the school started but I am on track and have some time to dedicate to this project. Thank you guys for being patient.

qmg extension is some sort of encoding for the icons bitmaps
smt file is just a samsung mobile theme file
look for themer pc program....i think i posted a topic about it back then when i was working on bada
sorry to disappoint you but you were working on nothing
Best Regards

I actually forgot about this project. After the winter holidays the school hit me really hard and I did not have time to continue on this. But the school has ended a month ago and I can continue once again! In my spare time I tried to read everything about Wave 533, 525, Bada, Android ROMs and other stuff that might help me do the Bada 2.0 for Wave 533 by myself. But that really did not help to make a compatible Bada 2.0 ROM but I got knowledge about other similar stuff.

Okay, I tried flashing Wave 723 Bada 2.0 firmware and, without any doubt, it failed. But I still have a plan. I am going to try installing TurkoCFW 1.0 Wave 723 version.

Damn, that took a long time. Two years have elapsed since I have started this thread and I have not got any further to installing a working copy of Bada 2.0 for Wave 533 and 525. It does not help that only one person is working on this project though.
I have tried flashing TurkoCFW and Multiloader 5.67 complains about "Different *file name that I am trying to flash* Nand Size 20000 40000" so I have a feeling that Bada 2.0 might not work because Wave 533 and Wave 525 does not have enough storage for it...

[Q] Bada 2.0 help

Hi I am VERY new to all of this and would like to know how to do a few things. First of all the Android guide on the S8500 did not work for me but I will leave that for another time. I have a Samsung Wave S8500
<SW VER>
S8500JHJH3
<CSC VER>
S8500PTRJH3
I got my phone in Israel from the phone company Orange, and according to samfirmware this is not an Israeli version. Some research got me to think its because my phone came unlocked (its a newish law in Israel). My Bada version is 1.0.2 which is pretty ****ty for the phone specs and all. I was wondering a few things.
1) If I flash this and update to 2.0 and don't like it or need to get my phone fixed or something could I/how could return it to factory settings?
2) Kies does not want to update lmao so how can I make it update?
3) Whats better in bada 2.0?
4)Later I will want to know how to port to Android but as I said I will leave that for a different time.
Thank you nobody for replying?! What great forums...

Hi,
1) yes you can go back to Bada 1.2 or other samsung firmware but not your operator firmware.
2) you can update by multiloader and install firmware samsung available on www.sammobile.com
3) A lot of things are better but for now it's only beta version for S8500, waiting for final release... so you could have some bugs.
4) I'm not sure about the interest of doing that... It's only for having market, for the rest you can not even phone... with your phone.
Wish it helped.
Thank you very much. That was very insightful and helpful.
How can i port back to bada 1.2?
I get this error in multiloader: ERR : Dbl Erase
What does it mean? and what can i do now??

Let`s hope it will be stable and usable (KH3 is kind of buggy).
SamMobile Team proudly presents a new bada firmware, we are currently testing everything for you all, also we will list here the changes and what you should know before flashing and stuff like that. It is a Vodafone firmware and not 100% complete but instead of KH3 usable.

But it works OK, and you can install LOW rsrc2 so you don't need to change the debuglevel. It seems to be faster, there are preinstalled widgets and they works. Twitter and Facebook in Social hub works but the apps are missing. Pretty much everythig works.
Alright I installed it and have to say I like it, no crashes yet and overall it`s faster than KH3. If you move the camera it seems to be faster too. Widgets are also working. There are 4 widgets in total: Calendar, Analog clock, Date and time widget and weather widget)
How come, samfirmware were allowed to release another Beta-ROM? I thought they were scared to do that since Samsung put pressure on them. Or is it a final ROM? Why would Vodafone even bother bringing out some Beta-ROM?
Code:
Type : Unofficial Version
Number : 262
Builder : Dell02
Host : SCMDELL16
Date : [B]2011/09/16[/B]
Time : 19:35:07
Size : 42468732 bytes
CheckSum : 0xef3c5853
This Version is around 1 month old...
Maybe Samsung internal Versions much closer to Final...
S8600 stuff are from October...

They just said they are watched by Sammy and that they'll step back, nothing about beeing actually under pressure.
Either way: the new ROM is blaaazzzzing fast.
Restore functionality from KIES now works for me for everything except apps. (though several restores in a row may crash the phone).
I love Sammy and Bada

Adding Keboard for Bada 1.2

Can we add keyboard language on bada 1.2?
I know how to do that with bada 2, but not with 1.2.
?????
I don't have much experience with Bada 1.2, but check the RSRC1 file (and the language setting file in CSC, of course). You'll find everything you need in there. For RTL languages though, I don't know.

Wave Remaker opens and writes those (Bada 1.2 RC1 and CSC), too, but I'm not sure wether these (edited RC1 and CSC) are ok to flash. I have never tried (flashing) myself, and I suggest you ask forum member xsycox for more info on that. He's the one with the most experience in doing Bada 1.2 CFWs. I also had a look over his CFW files in the past, and it doesn't look like his RC1 is edited, but the CSC seems to be.
EDIT:
If you want a starting point, here it is:
I have done some Bada 1.2 modifications myself in the past, but never tested it due to an unfortunate experiment (that shouldn't have gone wrong at all) in the recent past and most probably never will. I'm scared of Bada 1.2 now. See here, read and understand the whole post. DON'T JUST FLASH THIS HOPING IT WILL BE OK. Download link is here. There are some modifications for more input languages in the CSC files in there and the RC1 contains tons of files for tons of languages (also in the standard RC1, btw). This is how I think (=not know) how it is done. I have no experience in editing Bada 1.2, of course.
Compare using WinMerge with xsycox' Bada 1.2 based CFW and you'll get an idea.
In any case let us know what you found out!

From Bada to Android to Bada again?

Hi. Just experimented with a costom ROM on my wave GT-s8500, but that was to slow for me. Is it possible to go back to Bada 2.0 again? Anyone know how? And where i can get my hands on the Bada software(files)... ? Thanks!
Files Bada 2 can be found in the next section or on the website sammobile.com
Then use Multiloader 5.65 - https://yadi.sk/d/-k9MOtJIYBhbh
Hey, thanks for your reply. I can only find Bada for Wave II, not Wave I, which I need...
