Phone not reading internal storage - Verizon HTC One (M7)

I performed a wipe via recovery today, and now my phone won't read the data within Internal Storage. The wipe DID NOT delete pictures and other media files, and the "storage" page in Settings still reports that 21.81 GB of space are occupied. However, I can't access my media files. If I navigate to the "emulated" folder using a file manager, it just says it's empty. Apps can't properly utilize my internal storage.
I know that the files and whatnot are still there for several reasons. One, like I said, my phone still reports over 21 GB being used. Two, if I go into my recovery as if I was to flash a .zip, I can explore my internal storage and all the files are still there. My ROM just cannot read them. I'm on stock rooted and debloated 5.0.2. Please help!

sd card storage doubled...no space left!

Well, almost no space left. After flashing a rom, using cwm, I found that my storage space is left to only 1 gb when it used to have 10 gb before. Searched xda for solutions but haven't found any ( I am a noob ). Any ways to fix this? Tried rebooting into recovery and wiping partition cache but no change. Also notice that there is now the sd card and a emulator folder. Can't tell if my contents are now in both and that is why space has reduced and if so, can I delete one of the folders? Or, if it is just a "shortcut" reading the same info...please assist. Thanks!

WRONG SECTION... You should post this in Q&A or related ROMs' thread.. For your problem i suggest you flash different ROM or go back to stock.
sdcard and emulator/0 are hard links. You cannot delete them. They are not duplicated files. Its the same files. If u delete files in one then its gone forever.

If you flashed the ROM coming from stock then your files will be duplicate, hence the lack of space, the stock ROM has all your files on the internal SD card, if you flash CM or any other ROM after android 4.2 due to the implementation of the multiuser feature, now your files are located within a folder named /0 and all those files are duplicated now, to solve your problem this is what I do, reboot to recovery as recovery can see all the files and connect your phone to the computer, move EVERYTHING from the internal SD card below the folder /0 to the folder /0, make sure that folder is empty if you just want to keep all your previous data. reboot when done and now check your internal sd space it should put a smile on your face.

apologies for wrong section...
Could you post some help on how to "reboot to recovery and then move everything..." I know how to boot into recovery (using cwm) and I connected to computer but nothing shows up on computer to move anything.

[Q] Update 4.3/4.4 changes internal storage?? How to keep files.HELP

Hi, this is probably a noob question but i couldn't find the topic elsewhere on this forum . I just from stock based rom to 4.4 carbon rom. But when i do i loose all my saved data on internal storage,. luckily i did a backup that i copied to pc, so i could restore my previous system - and wiola - files are back! the same happened after 4.3 rom update. It seems that the newer androids change something, so that the system detects the interneal storage differently. Or is this just my phone? any way to prevent this from happening ----- or would my nest option be to backup and copy everything on my pc and then do a format of sdcard and copy everything back on when doing an update????

Hi, i'm on dokmo project 4.4 from stock and usually it don't delete the previous data from stock because it use a different folder to mount the internal storage, so things before going into 4.4 or 4.3 it would be still inside but is safer to do a backup just in case

I know the previous data is not deleted. The problem is that i cant access it. I installed carbon 4.4 rom again, and settings/storage it shows, that only 15GB of the internal storage are accessable... So around 10GB are missing... Is there anyway to get access to this space, or will i have to format de internal storage to get the full 25 GB space again?

I don't know if u can access it without root, but in root explorer if you look for sdcard folder it will show you two folders, legacy and 0, i think it was inside legacy
I saw those two folders in root Explorer, but they both contained the same content... And still couldn't access my old files.... Ended up backing all files to my PC, and format sd card from Cwm. Now I have full access to storage again
when you update from stock "4.1.2" to 4.2 or following the files will migrate to another folder, whit root browser check if your file are in the folder data/media/0 .

Storage Problem

Hi;
Before a while, i had installed the MultiRom (when using 4.4.4). But i didn't liked it and uninstalled. For getting OTA, i return to stock recovery, installed stock RUU and got OTA successfully. I installed Team Recovery and MaximusHD 11. When i had checked the intertal storage in Recovery mode, it shows 16 GB internal. But when i check from ES file explorer or any application about storage, all of them shows 10.58GB internal storage.. Is it expected or did MultiRom created any partition that i can't see...

This is expected. A certain amount of space is allotted for the system partition, and others. ES File Explorer will only show the internal storage space, which excludes the other partitions. I've got the 32GB model, and ES File Explorer only shows 25GB.
If you go to Settings -> Storage, what does it say there? It should say 16GB. If it doesn't, then there's a problem.

Fire TV Missing Storage Space

My rooted Fire TV has over 2 gigs of space that I can't retrieve. I was using the swap internal storage to an SSD drive, but when I reverted back to internal storage I have not been able to recover the lost space. It always shows up as around 1.5 gigs. I even tried rbox's suggestion to format data and format cache. I even installed rbox's boot menu factory reset in CWM recovery and upgraded to pre-rooted 51.1.4.1_user_514013920 and still it only shows 1.5 gigs of internal storage. What could I be missing? I have formated data and cache multiple times. This is driving me crazy because I can't see what is causing the lost space and nothing I have tried will restore it. I have searched the forums and tried several suggestions but nothing has worked.
any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

check all of /sdcard/ also no extra data_firetv dir left from the swap?
check with a file manager that can search for files exceeding specific sizes and count the space of folders?
just a few suggestions, i'm sure you tried the first one but just in case.

Thanks for suggestions. Yeah I have been looking through file system using ES File Explorer and Root Browser. Extra data_firetv dir havent seen that. Where would that be? in SDCARD or Storage? Is that an actual folder? Using ES File Explorer I even enabled show hidden files to see if perhaps a folder was hidden.
thanks
right besides /data mounted at root you can't miss it, its used for the swap i think it will get left over if one does not revert before flashing a upgrade, containing the stuff that was on the fire tv before the swap.

Thanks again for your suggestions. I believe I found it. I had 2 CWM backups on the sdcard. I always back up to my external drive but for some reason had backed up twice on the internal space. Nothing I did touched those backups, even factory reset. Oh well. I have 3.8 gigs free so I'm not complaining.
thanks again

"No External Storage"

I have an old HTC One X running Android 5.1 (Pacrom), and TWRP recovery.
I think my dad screwed something up yesterday because the phone literally has NO internal storage. It doesn't exist. The phone just isn't registering the internal storage. I can install apps (due to that partitioning) but I can't take pictures, download files, etc.
I need to fix this within the next couple days, as my brother needs this phone.
What do I do? I'm not sure if ADB is working yet — but will that work with the lack of a storage folder?
In the TWRP File browser, there's no /storage or /sdcard but in the phone file browser, there is. It just can't be used. I can't mount storage either.
Any advice?
Maybe try formatting all partitions in TWRP?
If you haven't fixed yet.

Is your phone new layout?
If not then format everything and you are good to go
