Make the screen turn off when charging AUTOMATICALLY? - Moto 360

I don't like how the screen stays on while charging, I know theater mode can turn it off but I have to get into theater mode every night and I know there is a trick with ambient display from the app but this also takes time. Is there a way to just have the watch turn off the screen ALWAYS when charging without my asking it to?

Get an app called slumber. It does what you're looking for.

Actually slumber didn't work very well for me buy I ended up finding a thing online saying to go into developer options and change the setting, THAT worked wonders

I confirm that setting it "backwards" from what you expect does what you want. Someone's boolean logic was off when they programmed that setting.

This worked for me too. Setting is reversed.
Once on charge, I get the charging screen for about 15 seconds then it turns off and stays off! Perfect!

i can confirm that the setting is reversed
however, this feature isn't all that reliable (the screen doesn't always turn off)

Can't turn off display timeout?

10 minutes is the maximum that the display timeout can be set to through settings.
Is anyone else not happy with this?
I use Google Maps in my car sometimes and this makes it unbearable. Yes, I know Navigator is available but prefer maps for some uses. I also use a few other apps that I'd rather leave the display on as well.
It's under developer options.

Yes, as long as you're on the charger, you can use the Develper Option "Stay Awake" to prevent the screen from timing out (though I believe it will still dim).
Alternately, there's an app in the market called "Stay Awake" that will remove the screen timeout entirely.
Hmm. Thanks.
So all we have are half fixes and work arounds? It would be nice if it was simply an option.
Shame I have to run an app to turn that off but I guess I will.
I just told you what the option was.

That only works when charging, though.
Check out the application 'screebl'.
I haven't yet tried to put it on my genex yet but it worked flawlessly with my Droid x. It works with the angle and orientation of your phone go keep it on.

Screen stays on ALL NIGHT

I dont know if anyone is facing the same problem I have now, my n2 screen wont turn off by itself. I have set the timer on 15secs, smart stay disable. It juz wont turn off when idle. And if its fully charged, it will stay up all night as well.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
Does it relate to my Omega rom or Redpill kernel?
Thanks
Do you have motion on?
Reboot?

Check developer options, stay awake. Make sure its unchecked.

I was just discussing the same in some other threads here. I tried everything up my sleeves and nothing helped. Do post if you've already found a fix Thank you

experienced this after upgrading to 4.1.2 weeks ago. backed up everything, complete-wipe then reflashed my rom(always on stock). no more issues. must have been a hiccup.

I had this even when I was on 4.1.1. Thought the upgrade would solve it for me but it didn't. Tough luck. Still searching for 3rd party apps that could give me a permanent solution.

I dun have a fix to this problem but I have a tasker profile that turns the screen off when battery is fully charged. You might want to try that as an interim.
What is your screen time out once mine was changed automatically check that
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
There's a button on the side for that
Just kidding, that's very strange. I noticed if you reboot the phone and don't touch it, when it comes on the screen never turns off either. Doesn't matter if it's plugged in or not.

I dunno if I'll be able to use tasker. I've not rooted my phone I'm still a noob and dunno if I can pull all that off on my own ^_^

I had that problem when using smart stay and smart rotation settings turned on in display settings. After I turned them off the screen shut off after 30 seconds as it should every time.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
Yes I noticed when 'smart stay' is turned on it causes the screen to stay on all the time. It's not a perfect feature. So I've turned it off
Sent from my SGH-I317M using xda app-developers app
do you have the power option to stay on whilst charging?
It's not smart stay, not the screen rotate with your head thingy nor the developer option that keeps the screen on while the device is being charged. I turned all that off. This is clearly a big that I've had from 4.1.1. Can't get rid of it. Annoyance at its peak.

Are you saying that the screen just won't turn off, or that it turns itself on and then won't turn off?
If it's the first, my guess is an app which prevents the screen from turning off, didn't release its lock after being shut down. This can happen with some games, I've seen it with angry birds and jetpack joyride, titanium backup has done it too. Try to empty ram and kill processes, and/or reboot, though I would guess you might have tried that already.

If doesn't turn on on its own. When the bug kicks in, the screen doesn't go off if it's manually turned on or If a missed call or message is left unattended. Hope you got that. But yes, I can turn off the screen manually but doing that every time is ridiculously annoying. The bad thing is I cannot know if the bug is active or not without actually watching my screen till the timeout. Annoying bug! I've tried various things and I do not know what's causing this. I'm on stock rom, never rooted.

How to turn off screen without sleep on

I am wondering if I turn off my screen is there any way to prevent it from going to sleep if I mod htc v? I am using my htc one as a dedicated webcam and is using an app called ip webcam. It does have features that can prevent it from going to sleep but it lags whe. The screen is off.
Plug it in and have the dev settings to never turn off screen while plugged in. And turn brightness way down. Hope this helped

Keep screen on when connected to power ?

Is there any app or tweak which can leave the screen on when the phone is being powered / charged ?
If I connect the phone in my car and just want to read the odd bits while driving, the screen keeps going off.

Not bad but would prefer something which works automatically based on whether it's connected to a charger or not

Drains big time! Thanks though.
You are Prince
You are great
I think this app wakelock the screen so it always on, but then replace display with all black image so it looks like screen off.
How to know? Use a charger.
When screen really off, notification LED should turn red (indicate of charging when screen off)
But when use this app, LED blinks only once then come off, and the display black condition is slightly different than before.
Another proof, use Quickmemo button
You can screen capture the screen off!
In original screen off you can't capture screen (because it really doesn't display anything)
No wonder it drains the battery.
