Hello everybody,
I'm new to Android environment, but I know Linux well, so I started make a few shell script, but I am having trouble finding the right configuration scripts in Xperia Arc ROM
Could anyone help me telling how it is mounted the file system (SYSTEM, DATA, etc.), and where is the configuration files for that.
And there is some documentation of system files for Xperia ROM?
Thanks.
Anyone?
Sent from my LT15i using XDA App
For those that perhaps want to know what I questioned above, I found, and the config is everything in the boot of ROM, more specified in the init.rc, which are in the root of the boot:
/init.rc
The sdcard partition stay in vold.fstab file:
/etc/vold.fstab
you should not multi posting here.
Try and ask some devs around here.
Electrash,
I just made a comment with the answer than I had originally asked after I found the answer elsewhere, in case someone needs the same information. I see no problem with that. I am just trying to help.
About question in a development forum, in my understand, the rules of the development forum do not allow posts with questions, so I used the Q&A forum.
My english in not very good, maybe is losing something in translation...

Hello,
I read a lot and searched the forum and got some clues, but all failed til now.
So I ask it here again (sorry) because I really need that feature : i'd like to be able to make Mount Manager or CifsManager work on my 10.1 2014 tablet.
I installed both xKat 3.0 & Xluco Kernel 0.9 and the cifs modules seem present. But i have many errors (syntax error, failure etc etc).
My setup:
Shared folder name 'Datas' on my Synology server, address 192.168.1.13 on my LAN
Protected by 'MyLogin' and 'MyPassword'
Did not created any local storage directory
If someone could give me WORKING INSTRUCTIONS or a link to something working, will save my bacon..
Thanks a lot in advance.
first of all, hi everyone who's reading this
i'm interested in the Android 6.0 AOSP build, for example by billchen1977 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-s/s-development/pure-aosp-lollipop-t2940839).
but it says that i need to change the size of some partitions and something like p14 and whatsoever.
and to be honest, i don't know where and how to start.
so does anybody have time to tell me how to do this ?
i already looked up on a few forums and looked it also up on google, but either the downloadlink of some applications for the pc aren't available anymore or the tutorial is not suitable with the XS or it's done via pc-connection, but the pc has to run on linux (my pc is currently running on Win10).
if anyone's interested, feel free to give me advice
somebody knows the procedure to take root permission on xz2c?
thanks
As far as I'm aware, it's not yet possible without losing DRM. You lose DRM, no more access to Sony apps including camera.
It's currently a case of hurry up and wait until someone figures it out
usually how long does it take?
Good evening, I proceeded to unlock the bootloader now I'm without a camera (whatsapp web I can not use it ....)
can the xz2 root procedure be applied to the xz2 compact ???
Thanks and good things to everyone
@mark788 no idea. I'm not a dev so don't understand all the intricacies in it. Seems like there aren't many, if any, devs using this phone so we may never be able to properly root or flash this phone. Sony have released the AOSP code but that still needs dev input.
@deep66it pretty sure you're stuck now. Once the DRM keys are broken, there isn't a way to restore them at present. Hopefully someone else can chime in and correct me.

Unfortunately you had to reed the forum before unlocking the bootloader. The camera broken question was approached... Loss of drm keys and TA partition is a known problem about Sony phones.
Now you have to wait that someone find a drm fix to use your camera again.
Otherwise you can try to install AOSP build if you are motivated : https://developer.sony.com/develop/open-devices/guides/aosp-build-instructions/
I will be more optimistic than whiteduck89 about this phone. Xz2 Compact is recognized as a good phone and it will take place like the Z3 Compact in the smartphone world (Z5 Compact get drm fix, TA partition restoration, LineageOs,... and it was not so brilliant).
Sure we have to wait 6 month or one year until this all will be done.

Why so much time for a custom ROM? And also, any safe way to root? To me it's important for backup and many other things.

Regarding root only, as long as you unlock the bootloader of your device (agreeing to the terms of sony): do this, and you're done!
And with this procedure I have no problems? all the programs like the camera etc. work good?

Ofc not, you'll get root only! Root itself won't fix unlocking bootloader related issues, but maybe drmfix!!
Can i ask you When a simple procedure or toolkit will be disclosed to safely run the root? Thank you
you can ask but no-one can reply your question of course.. don't have the crystal ball with me atm
