I recently acquired a Kinpo iDo s601 and it comes with Windows Mobile 5, does anyone have any idea about how can I upgrade it for Windows Mobile 6? I've been searching for ROMS of that kind but I couldn't find anything adequate for this PPC. If anyone have any ideas I'd like to hear from you.

I am also looking for a wm6 rom for my Ido_Neon (s601) currently running in wm5 which i recently acquired in Dubai. If anyone has any idea how to upgrade this device please advice me too..Thanks
just like others, i got that phone today, and this is my first ppc phone, it seems quite interesting, and like someone can hack wm6.1 for us.

i found a tool for decompiling the official rom from china forum, ( http://www.inv.org/viewthread.php?tid=9865 ), and i put these stuff here, so someone interested in these phone can now cooked the rom they want.
after trying several times, i think the tools on the last post has some problems.
it can decompile the rom, but it can't recompile it, even you did much of moving the dump files, the recompile files has nothing change as the orginal one, no idea why and i need help from others.
still waiting someone to mod the above files, so we can make our own wm6 for s601.
just one more push for those who wanna be our GOD.

to intall the new rom:
1, put the eboot.bin and nk.bin on sd card
2, hold voice record+ right hand buttom
3, push reboot pin
4, the screen shows 3 icon , you first format your phone, and reboot, and you update your eboot.bin, and lastly you update your os.
5, then you can flash your phone successfully.

What are exactilly the buttons and how should I press them?
I don't have the user manual or quick guide so would be difficult to know wich button to press without some picture.

did any one have these english roms plz plz upload i formated and also changed the boot loader to some version phone started with that boot loader and in vibrate mode need both "Eboot.bin" and"nk.bin" files

I found the solution on a polish websites.
You have to use unlockroot application.

At the beginning I tried to root the phone with the Zhoudashi but it didn't work but now I have a problem with the phonebook.
When I have an incoming call the name is not match from the phonebook - I see only the phone number
As the name of SIM1 and SIM2 I have the china letters and even the hard reset does not solve these problems. Of corse I can change the name for the SIM card but I think my ROM has been modified by zhoudashi application.
What can I do to fix it?

Your device is a clone of Micromax A56.

Then, backup your rom and then please upload it somewhere!
I ll provide links to more than 5 Custom Roms if you do so.

I want to ask how difficult it would be to modify the ROM of the L8star BM10 Phone.
This phone has a Mediatek MT6261 SOC inside and a ROM size of about 5Mb. I want to add some Features to
the ROM but don´t know where I should begin. Would be nice if someone can help me.
I wanted to post the readed out firmware of the phone as .bin file, but it seems that this is not possible on XDA because I could not find a function for attach files.
