Hey,
Does anyone know if there are any plans to bring this device to Europe or if I can import it from Japan or something?
I love the look of it, but I really want a phone with at least 32gb storage which isn't looking likely atm... If none of the nokia phones have 32gb+ I really want to try and get one of these Fujitsu phones.
been very interested in the is12t as well for availability. but its been dead silent
Its unlikely as it was provisioned by the carrier in Japan KDDI or something like that. Also it is CDMA and the tech used in Japan will only work in Japan on the cdma network there.
It is possible another, similar device for GSM could be released after some prior of time.

Well, just call those shops which import Japanese games and comics and they should do the job for you.
Here is the link in Yahoo Japan, which sells IS12T standalone machines without contract and SIM lock.
http://auctions.search.yahoo.co.jp/...d&f=0x2&slider=0&tab_ex=commerce&ei=UTF-8&b=1
I may consider to get one, as NAND built-in should be much faster than MicroSD in my Trophy, esp. 32GB ones.
it's better than this device's running GSM Networktechnology

That link was great but I can't read Japanese and none of them seem to be shipping internationally (according to G Translate anyway).
Unfortunately I cant find any on ebay.
I am also interested in one of these beauties. Waterproof so I've heard.

Hello everyone
I bought an Toshiba IS12T phone of of amazon.jp using a forwarding service.
It really is a nice phone and works smooth.
Only problem is it is telling me invalid sim and I need to use a uim.
I am living in Germany, maybe you can help me get the phone to work ;-)

It definitely supports GSM, so should work in Europe.
Sounds like it could be SIM-locked to a Japanese carrier. Are you sure you bough an unlocked one?
Yeah it supports GSM.
I found out that all the KDDI phones are locked.
Now trying to unlock it, but don't know how. . hm
I you wish I can post some pics or a small vid if you like

Well, are you really know what those Japanese means before you buy?
白ロム(White ROM) = empty ROM
ロッククリア済(Lock clear finished) = unlocked
Many of them just said empty ROM but without stating unlocked, which are possibly be locked ones.
In google by typing "IS12T unlock" there should have website suggestions which are selling unlock services.
BTW, how much in total have you got? I may also would like to have one if it is not too costly.
I think I payed like less than 400 euro to get it.
KDDI says there are no unlocked devices and they can't be unlocked!!!
Hm now to work on this otherwise I have to sell it again XD

They said, but there are somebody who has full paid the machine should have got the unlocked ones. (Unlocked by default/standalone, locked when got bundled plan)
According to this site:
http://nanapho.jp/archives/tag/IS12T/page/2/
You may check if it is really unlocked.
Step:
1) Choose "Wi-Fi" in "Settings"
2) Press the "PRL Setting" button for 10 secs or more
3) Press "*6#27" when the numeric keypad comes out
4) The page will be jumped to "Information"
If the column "Line Registered" is 0, then it is unlocked, otherwise (1) it is locked.
Thank you for the information.
I checked it and it says "0" so it is unlocked!
Maybe my sim cards are not working properly I had some issues earlier.
I tried different things and nothing seems to work :-(
If someone is interested I am going to sell it for 380 euro just pn me
It is the best phone I ever held in my hand!!!

The phones color is black.

Still new and unused if you will.
What the title says. In the past Sprint phones used to be SIM-unlocked for international SIMs (for instance my Motorola XPRT was) but I understand that lately they are not... I plan on traveling abroad, and I'm used to popping local SIMs.
Does anyone know if the G3 is locked or not, and if it is - can it be unlocked?
Nobody knows? Well guess I'll be the first one to test it. I'm going to Europe next week and I'll try a local SIM. Hopefully it works (if not I'll use it in my other phone which is SIM-unlocked).
You can go into the hidden menu 2945#*(model number) # and hit Sim unlock and enter a code you buy online for about 10-15$. Then you can use any Sim you want

Actually I don't think that hidden menu exists for the Sprint LG G3 (or if it does the code was changed). I tried 2945#*990# to see if the menu exists and nothing happened. I also tried
several other codes for LG phones and they don't work.

Look at g2 for unlock but if they updated to the same type sprint and Samsung did then sprint is the only unlock they do it for note 3 ota .I don't get my g3 until today

FWIW I called Sprint, did a bit of social engineering on the phone and they agreed to unlock my SIM for foreign SIMs. It took 24h as they had to have it approved by the "backoffice" but eventually it worked. They did it all at their end, so I can't post a procedure. According to their rules the device wasn't eligible for unlock (among other conditions, a device has to be activated on your account for a minimum of 90 days to be eligible) but they still approved it "since you're a long-time customer" That was nice.
Currently using my Sprint LGG3 happily in Italy with a local SIM
Is your phone rooted?
If it is, do you mind grabbing a couple of files for me. This can help in creating the GSM unlock for the G3, just as there was for G2.
TIA

I was curious about this as well and the thing is options for gsm/umts mode are available out of the box. If i recall correctly such settings were hidden if the phone was not unlocked or inaccessible. Please correct me if I'm wrong however i do plan on contacting Sprint to unlock as i have to go abroad in a month or so just in case.
I don't know about the G3, but the settings were easily found on the G2. However to use the phone in GSM/UMTS mode abroad, the phone needed to be internationally unlocked by Sprint.
One of the guys, used files from an unlocked G2 and created the method to unlock any Sprint G2 for international use. I am just trying to reverse engineer the unlock for the G3 by following the same steps that he did for the G2. His method does require root, so waiting for it like everyone else. With my experience on the HTC One series, the unlock method remains the same for Sprint phones as there is hardly any merit for Sprint to patch these exploits. Hoping same is true for LG phones as well.
So I called up Sprint today for getting the phone unlocked.
Let me start by saying my family has been with Sprint for close to 15 years, No late payments, have a total of 4 phone lines active on the 1500 minute family share plan with unlimited data and So on.
After talking to about 4 people and wasting an hour or So I Was told my phone is not eligible for unlock before 90 days of it being active. I plan on traveling internationally on September 8 and they just wouldn't do it and went on a spiel regarding Wi-Fi calling and telling me calls would be free internationally if I will be connected on a Wi-Fi network. I am taking that with a huge grain of salt. I Don't see how i can call local numbers while in Pakistan for free on Wi-Fi calling as it requires access to location and will technically only work where 911 services are available to be called on Wi-Fi from my understanding, correct me if I am wrong.
Anyways I threatened to cancel service and still they did not budge, can Sprint really afford to leak customers like that, they are no Verizon, every thing regarding their network is horrendous the only reason I'm chained to them is because my brother and sister don't want to lose their number and my dad doesn't want to pay etf ( I've told him about tmobile taking care of etf, but when i checked on their online website, none of our Sprint numbers seemed to be portable, hence i seem to be stuck...).
One thing i forgot to ask was, is it possible to swap my dad's old iPhone 5 back (which was unlocked by Sprint) and then just wait out the 90 days until they decide to unlock the g3? Or does the g3 have to stay activated through out the 90 day period? I ask because then I would have to leave this g3 here in the States (i used my fathers upgrade, was planning on switching his iPhone 5 back to the active account after getting this g3 internationally unlocked). Any insight on that matter would be appreciated.
Hoping there may be some break through on sim unlock before the 8th of September via rooting would hate to leave this phone behind (btw I am an international medical student hence the reason for needing it unlocked, just have one more year of school left).

Update: Got a call from Sprint this morning, they apologized for putting me through the hassle i mentioned in my earlier post and went ahead and unlocked my device. Guess there's hope for Sprint after all. I still maintain that the customer service reps are not very helpful at all though Or maybe they just don't have the power to over ride certain things who knows.

Have you already?
There are a couple of people at the Forum to unlock phones.
I think they're are some Cloudyfa Roms for the G3. That ROM unlocks your phone out of the box. Or you can try flashing an aosp ROM. Then dialing *#*#4636#*#* and switch the GSM only. It works on the g2. Not sure about the G3 but it's worth a shot. This also works for domestic use in the the US.
Hi!
I previously had a Note 4 for a day or two after release, coming from at that time, an iPhone. I subsequently returned the note, kept the iPhone, and recently upgraded to the 6+. Now with ATT's mobile share, I'm looking at adding a second line for how cheap it is. I'd like for that second line to be an android device, to get the best of both worlds. As a result of being out of the mix when it comes to android, or more like never having been in it, I have a couple questions.
I distinctly remember how much junk was on my ATT Note 4. Junk apps from Samsung, junk from ATT- and worst of all, I couldn't do anything about it (no root?). Has that changed? Is there a way to remove these apps, fix touch wiz annoyances, etc? I'd think that would require root, but like I mentioned, I don't know the details of note4 root status, or even rooting in general.
I currently have a Nexus 6 and Oneplus One on order (good prices on both of them), but personally like the Note4 the best- can I change it to make it perfect? Or is it still locked down and junked up?
Thanks for your help!
Don't get the AT&T Note 4. Get the T-Mobile Note 4 and use it on the AT&T network. The AT&T version is locked down whereas the T-Mobile version is not which means it's rootable. It looks like the AT&T Note 4 will never see permanent root, ever.

I just bought my note 4 two weeks ago. If I could go back in time I would have bought the nexus 6. This phone lags too much for my liking. It is actually slower than my g2 was at opening apps. I thought I would like this phone but at this point regret my choice.

So just to be clear, I can root a T-Mobile version of the note 4, and use it on att, with no loss of functionality(network speeds/lte bands/that sort of thing)? That sounds like a really attractive option to me. Would T-Mobile let me walk in and buy a device just straight up?
Thanks for the help!

OK heres what you do if they won't let you buy it straight up. Buy the t mobile version on the payment plan because like that there's no contact or ETF. Go home and make a call for 5 min on T mobile sim, then submit the imei to cell unlocker net. Then in a few days call and cancel the service with Tmobile and pay the remainder of the phone off, which by the way is $100 cheaper then the AT&T version. After receiving the unlock code from cell unlocker stick the AT&T sim in and when it boots it will ask for the unlock code, put it in and your good to go.
I have both versions of the note 4 and the t mobile version works perfect on the AT&T network except you have root, custom roms and kernels. All the rom developers in the note 4 t mobile forum full support the AT&T network in there roms straight out the box.
You might want to wait 3 months for the note 5 because this phone is already dated and is a big investment.
Good luck.
Sent from my SM-N910T using Tapatalk
Thanks for the help Sand, that is a great explanation. The tmobile device is clearly better then- no loss of service quality or anything, but still having the root, roms, etc. I think regardless of the imminent release of the note 5, I might still get the four for now, or just keep that incoming OPO One- waiting 3 months for the note 5, plus however much more time for rooting dev is a bit long for me. Regardless, I appreciate your information!
I got a nexus 6. Traded it for my Note 4, plus the guy gave me 50 bucks. So that sweetened the deal for me. Overall I'm very happy with the trade, especially because I have an unlocked bootloader and can put any rom I want on it. So happy beyond belief. I'm sorry to anyone still stuck on their ATT note 4. It was pure boredom for me. Wish everyone on this forum luck, and it was fun while it lasted with you guys!

I feel l ya.
Personally, I won't own a Nexus. I need a top notch camera, and it just falls short.
But between the Note 5 lacking expandable memory, I have chosen to go with the LV V10 (when released) as my next phone, even though I love the Note line. And, of course, AT&T will not ever be in my carrier line again.
This video had some pretty nifty tips to address the battery and expandable memory issues in the note 5 - https://youtu.be/lFyZ5YyAsk4..
Everyone carries a battery pack anyway and I've personally not replaced the battery on note 4 since I bought it last year..

I'm happy for you. Personally I will never buy another Samsung phone again from AT&T. If they want government contracts that much then go right ahead. I'm going to definitely get new LG V10 when it comes out but hoping that the bootloader isn't locked and that I can at least put in a 128gb micr sd memory card. With Samsung doing what they did to make the S6 more like the Note series it's safe to say that the Galaxy Note series is officially dead. It's crazy how Samsung sacrificed their best selling line of phones for another line of phones that fail every year in sales and customer satisfaction. You would have thought that the Galaxy Note series would've became Samsung's new flagship phone. Wish I still had my Note 3 cause it was rooted but I'm stuck now with the Note 4. LG V10 or an iPhone cause those are my only options.

Couple things.
First, placing your pictures in Google, according to their policy you agree to when you use it, allows them to use any of those pictures for advertisement of their products or services. And they can do so without your permission, since you agree to it by using them to store your pics. Frankly, I'm not too keen on that one.
Also, since I listen to a lot of music, but get songs from different sources, Google Music is not an option since you can't listen to songs through them that was not purchased through them.
Music & pictures/camera are my primary concerns when buying a new phone, and I use a lot of space for them. On my Note 4, I've got a 128gb card with a 32gb phone, and I'm down to 12 gigs on the card and 6 on the phone. But personally, I love having everything I want at my fingertips without using external storage or needing to be around a signal.

Looking at the specs for both, it looks like they're MOSTLY identical...except that AT&T and T-Mo have most, but not all, of the same frequencies for UMTS and LTE bands. Everything seems the same, except:
AT&T
UMTS 900 (Band 8)LTE 2600 (Band 7)T-Mobile
UMTS 1700/2100 (Band 4)LTE 900 (Band 8)LTE 1800 (Band 3)
Are the frequencies that AT&T and T-Mo share, those frequencies that they both use most commonly, and the above frequencies are mostly just for increasing available bandwidth for their respective networks? Or is it possible that either of them might use only the above bands, in some areas?
I have no idea about frequency stuff. All I know is that I've read on here about people getting the t-mobile version specifically because the AT&T version is not rootable.

Yes, the frequencies between AT&T and T-Mobile are different and do matter when it comes to data. You will not be able to get access to all towers LTE tech unless the phone has the proper hardware in it. It will limit your 4G usage but you could at least have a rooted phone. You kind of have to pick your poison in that regards.

Actually, from what I could tell, if pdadb.net and wikipedia have their respective info correct (and current), the only frequencies the T-Mobile version doesn't have, that the AT&T version has, are frequencies that aren't even used by any U.S. carriers. According to pdadb.net, the frequencies the AT&T version can use, that aren't available on the T-Mobile Note 4 are UMTS 900 (Band 8), and LTE 2600 (Band 7). According to this Wikipedia article, the LTE2600 band isn't in use anywhere in the US. It's used in Canada, but I don't anticipate visiting there, or anywhere else outside of the US, any time soon. (There's another article that shows similar info about the UMTS900 band, but that's even less relevant.)
So, it looks like I'm looking for a T-Mobile Note 4, if I can find one for cheap, that's not too scratched up, or anything.
I just gave up on my att note 4. Switched to the T-mobile version.

I am looking to get this phone and needed some advice. I haven't bought a cellular branded phone for a long while. I usually go with the USA Factory unlocked version. On this phone is the cellular named stamped on the back of the phone? I know the model for the USA Unlocked version is G820QM (with a 7 at the end at times) but it is honestly harder to find. What does everyone recommend on this phone in regards to getting the cellular branded one or should I keep trying to find the USA Unlocked version? What about bloatware with the different cellular branded ones? How is that? Can you get rid of the bloatware? I also like what I call the LG Branded ones as they get the updates faster do they not? Please help me. I am looking for a phone and this one stuck out at me unless someone suggests a different phone with similar specs to this one? Thanks so much! :good:

Please help me. I am looking for a phone and this one stuck out at me unless someone suggests a different phone with similar specs to this one? Thanks so much! :good:

Unsure where you're from, but stay away from the AT&T unlocked model (my model G820UM), I'm from the UK and ordered one, big mistake, AT&T does not send any update to their phones if they are not using an AT&T SIM card in the US, some users have been successful in updating they're OS, by just using a AT&T SIM card outside of the US, some haven't and I haven't tried it, because I don't want to waste more money on a SIM card when the results are not 100% guaranteed.
There is no way of cross flashing a different ROM, so you will be stuck without updates, until someone finds a way of cross flashing a ROM from an unlocked model. I'm checking this forum regularly hoping some has found a solution, but nothing so far
If you are in the US and on AT&T then it will fine, bloatware (which is a lot) can be removed/disabled easily
Honestly, for the price I paid (£280), I think the Xiaomi Mi9 would have been a better option, similar specs, updates every 2 months and you're able to unlock bootloader, not the best process to unlock the bootloader, but still possible (just need to wait for permission from Xiaomi which could take a few weeks), you'll be missing out on the best headphone jack, better cameras (not by much) and better battery life, for a similar price I think this is the best deal for snapdragon 855 phone.
If you don't mind paying a bit more and want the same features as the G8, go for the Samsung S10.

Have you tried updating after taking out the SIM card?

Yep no luck, I've sold the phone, I was wasting too much time trying to find a solution, so just sold it and claimed my sanity back xD
Going back to the trusty Xperia 5, timely updates and great software and they are going for around £260 so easily recommended.
That's too bad, AT&T must be interfering, because I just purchased an unlocked G8 in Canada, and it updated to 10 over WiFi, before I inserted a SIM from my carrier (Bell Mobility). Phone was not on Bell originally.

Yep, this a AT&T "feature", want updates? Buy at AT&T SIM card and use it in the US, guess they don't want anyone outside the US to use their products, unsure why, but it is what it is...

Is 10 really that big a deal from 9? I have 9 on my phone i could care less if it gets 10 and I am pretty sure it wont , lol
I feel like if we have temp root then it's only a matter of time before we get TWRP and roms. I just picked up an AT&T model for $178. Not sure if it's unlocked, but fairly easy through AT&T. Just worried if we have an exploit, updating to 10 might invalidate it.
I come from PS3/xbox 360 hacking, haha.
