The battery is pretty basic for a multimedia phone. you either can have a good, branded full featured phone or battery life (at least that's the notion). You can certainly buy mugen battery, as in last post, but why to bear that extra bulk on the phone, you can have an extra battery in your pocket if required.

[Q] Change battery after calibration

Hi everybody!
i've got a little doubt about the battery calibration method and tool..so...i've done all the process(the one suggested by the user Ganymedes with the battery calibrator from the market) every time i flashed a new rom update(in this case the sandvold ICS),for calibrate the original 1400mAh desire battery, and also because my desire shutted down at around 15% battery remaining..and every time without any positive result..so i tried in many ways, and at the end i kept the battery as it comes out after all the times i tried to calibrate it...but now,i just bought a brand new high capacity mugen battery..the bigger one with 3200mAh,'cause the old one drained too fast..so,the question is..i've got to recalibrate the phone again,'cause i changed the battery?..i wish to precise that i haven't calibrated the battery after the last ROM update..so,what you think?'cause i read that the battery calibrator app will save and make permanent the battery stats..and i'm afraid that an old batterystats with the info from the stock battery is still saved..misreading the power of the new battery!
thanks for all the answers!
Is far as I know the calibration configuration is saved on the battery not on the rom.

So i don't need to re-calibrate the device for the new high capacity battery..isnt'it?

So you need to calibrate it because you replaced the battery.
via xda app
Cycling the battery through one full charge and full dis-charge cycle should do the trick. I don't think a calibration tool will help much. Wiping battery stats is also useless.

[Q] One X Battery Re-Calibration

Hi XDA,
I am pretty noob at forum posting so no hate
As we all know, the One X does not have a great battery, but, it enough to get a whole day, recently my battery starting playing up, Id have 20% left, and it would just keep turning off, as if it had no battery, I full charge it, and that seem to not occur again, Id listen to music for 20 minutes and Id loose about 8% charge, Im not using headphones, just earphones, now, im loosing 15-20% battery, id also loose battery with it in sleep, firstly I tried to wipe battery stats in CWM, and I loose 2% just from that!
All of that within a week, except for the 20% turn off thing.
It also seems to be a little warm around the camera, and a bit more below the camera.
Ive tried recalibrating using Battery Recalibration (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nema.batterycalibration&hl=en)
Ive tried full charging after a full drain.
Nothing seems to be working.
Im running:
Rom - Viper 3.3.4
Kernel - The Viper Provided boot.img
Hboot - 1.36.0000
Any help is much appreciated
Ill provide what ever you want to see (screenshots etc)
Thanks
Re-calibrating battery doesn't do anything for battery life. It's a myth. Read up on that. Maybe your battery has become old, or overheated at some point and is now malfunctioning. Too much heat is bad for batteries and overheating has killed one of my Desire HD batteries too. They expand at the middle and also lose their capacity quite a bit i.e. they discharge faster.

Okay, That might be the issue, Thanks
Full Draining your battery is a bad idea..
As the One X has a Lithium Ion battery
and they dont like to be discharged very low

[HELP] Battery indicator problem

Welcome!
I have a strange problem.. I bought a second battery to my Desire - 'FOREVER' brand. Battery indicator says whole the time 100% or even sometimes 102%.. And sometimes shows : 20 % and that value get higher and higher.. I like that.. But Its not true value
If I switch the battery to orginal, battery indicator shows normal Value. I try wipe my mobile many times, changed roms and all that 'software' stuff... But still I have that problem.
And The Question : what wrong with my second battery? Its a battery problem? Or My Mobile? Or something else?
Its worth it to give battery to warranty? Any sense and hope, that they fix this problem?
Or maybe every battery that I will use it, not from HTC brand has a similar problem?
Please help me.
Thanks!

You bought a bad battery, warranty won't be much help as they'll send you a replacement, probably won't work either. I'd return it if possible, go for reputable or official brand, read a few reviews before buying. Sometimes paying a bit more in this case is worth it.
Thanks for Reply. Now I trying to use program to monitor battery and Estiminate lifetime of battery after few cycle based on usage level by the user.
The battery is functioning normally. The only problem is then - when suddenly, my phone turns off .. i do not know how much time it will work. It's annoying because I always have to wait until it self turns off.
We'll see if this helps.

[Q] Xperia S Battery after 1 year

Last mouth my X.S have made 1 year of use.
But, recently, the battery was drained very fast...
about 30%over the night
and with a casual use, it lasts about 12 hours, with 3g on brightness on 25%
I use the 6.2.B.1.96.
I was wondering if this is something the OS is causing(which will need to reinstall the room or a custom one)?
or it is an natural aging of the battery.?
If it is the battery, i would buy a new one from ebay, you guys have some good seller to recomend?
I'm afraid that the seller send a fake one.
Thank you guys!
I would recommend you get Wakelock Detector or Better Battery Stats and find out if it's a rogue app draining your battery before you start looking for a hardware fix. Because if this is the case, you'll have bought a new battery only for it to have the same issues as the old one.
Power
I have found that a lot of the apps I use with push notifications really cause the drain, though flashing to a fresh build always seems to help too.
You could force calibaration
Fully charge the battery
And natruly let it die and turn off when it hits 0% and then put it on charge then leave for a few mins and then you should be able to power it up

Flash your stock rom once again, if your phone gets quickly charged then there is some software issue and if the problem still persists then I think there is some problem in the microusb port

Brother successfully flashed ota, now phone's software is fully stock including Bootloader.
Till date phone was company stock, it was working fine :crying:
I know my 816 sometimes has to be turned off (and stay off) to charge. Otherwise it'll drain itself dead while plugged in. After a good solid charge it'll work again for a while without having to turn it off for charging. Turned off until fully charged works best. Happens on stock or cm, had the same issue with my evo 3d... Both htc phones.
I've not found any good reason for it, I seldom have much software installed to drain the battery.
@bigsupersquid nd @singhjot0020 I'm using cm13 with lots of apps nd I don't face any battery issue. You guys can try Nitro X sparkle mod and calibrate the battery into Nitro booster although I dnt require it. Greenify is the best app available, nd my personal experience says both lollipop nd mm update uses to much juice as compared to my kk rom still my phone manages to charge quickly on cm13. @singhjot0020 now everything is working fine on stock so flash cm13 once more and flash the microgapps package nd use greenify
Thanks for replying @bigsupersquid and @rjcool1999

Welcome
@rjcool1999 is it that my phone's is 2 years old that's why battery life has reduced that much ?
Someone of my known had the same battery issue, he got a new battery from htc service centre for ₹1400 with 3 months warranty, although same would be taken for ₹300-400 from Karol Bagh. He's saying that now his phone is working fine.
Battery draining issue solved, but charge time's same (appx. 2-3 hrs)
@bigsupersquid any comments? @rjcool1999 any suggestions

Its obvious that battery performance will reduce with time and if u wish u can get the battery replaced from service centre or from wherever u want nd make sure its a genuine htc battery otherwise it will effect your phone. For the charging time issue the best thing is to buy an asus charger, it has 1.35amp voltage output nd charges the phone very quickly faster than the original htc charger also. You can get it from ebay for 600-650

Okay thanks ?
@rjcool1999 i had replaced the battery with the new one, battery performance is fine, but charging time is increased, even after switching off and charging sometimes charges only 8-10% in 20-25 min.
What would be the cause?

I think that the battery backup is somehow increased from that of 2 year old battery (htc desire 816 a5dwg)
Today only, I've charged phone to full and in 30-35 minutes, battery has fallen to 84% from 100%

Nothing much improved if I compare new battery's performance with my old battery so changing the battery would be a waste of money I think
