I just reported an issue with this site regarding security certificate and it was deleted within 10 seconds.. This site is hacked and I am reporting it immediately. Stay away from XDA
No one deleted any of your posts (I just checked). Your other thread is literally right below this one.
I am closing this one, please do not post the same thread, someone will reply to your original one.
edit: I did just delete 3 of your posts that just said "please delete," however...

It appears that a new forum has been created for the moderators to chat in and discuss the site (and us, I expect ). However, the topics that are being added to this forum are appearing in the homepage list of latest topics for everybody else. This is a PITA since it seems that every other topic I click on doesn't exist (i.e. I don't have the permission to view it).
Can this be sorted out please so that only topics we're allowed to see appear in the listing?
is it fixed now?
Nope
This topic still appears on the homepage.
now?
Looks like it's fixed. Nice work, itsme, and thanks for the fast response!
<hopeful>
Now if only you could fix the 'xda-developers.com' link on the PPC templates so that they didn't give a 'page not found' error, and then stop the site sending two emails every time a topic receives a reply, then the site would be perfect!
</hopeful>
There are a lot of posts such as
[Q] Windows RT port of WinUAE
Windows8 downgrade to Win7 lost os
webcam rt
work around for 3rd party vpn for remote desktop
Disabling windows hardware button
is there any way to setup program like MediaMonkey on Windows RT ?
that have absolutely no business being in a developer forum. I got all of those off of only the first page of topics, they continue at that rate for the first few pages, at least.
There is seemingly no moderation going on in that section, unless a post is reported. Since I personally feel that reporting each and every one of those posts is too tedious for end users, and would spam up the moderators inboxes too much, I haven't been reporting them.
So, what I'd like is to see either the moderators take a more active interest in the section, or to appoint someone who is active there (My suggestions would be myself, or GoodDayToDie, though do note that I haven't contacted him about this)
I should also note that there's also a problem with users asking the same questions over and over a lot too, it's been asked to port OpenVPN, for example, at least 3 or 4 times, by users who have obviously not even attempted to use searches.
There are also a lot of threads that one of the previous moderators, chrisd1a1, made and stuck which aren't important or helpful at all, or just contain wrong info, including:
Goodbye from me Pointless
hello from your new forum mod Pointless
IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ!!! Contains some outdated info and is pretty much just a reminder to read the rules
THREAD STRUCTURE - IMPORTANT!!!! Erroneously implies that this is a phone section
Thanks.
As part of the team of moderators responsible for that forum, I'll take the blame for letting some things go for a bit too long.
With that said, a lot of moderating is based on the feedback and reports from those active in the forum. If you see an outstanding issue there, I would encourage you to utilize the report post button. If you need to point out a larger set of issues or have some suggestions, my PM box is always open to you.
I've taken care of all of the problems you've pointed out in your post and I'll be looking at some more maintenance items in the next couple of days.
Thanks for your post.
Thanks. Just for clarification, you don't mind if I report every one of those threads/posts?
Edit: I went through the development subforum, here's what I came up with. A lot of these are old enough that they've been pushed way back and aren't in the way anymore, but I posted them all for completeness sake.

That's fine if you want to report problems in that forum. I or one of the other moderators will take a look at it as they come up.
As for the list you gave me, I'll have a look later on this evening and work through them. If you have any more concerns, I think PMs would be better than posting here. This forum is more for general, site-wide issues. If there's a forum issue, it's usually better to contact one of the moderators directly.
Please use this thread to report issues with the xda.com website.
Rather than have members create a new thread every time they can't quote a post, edit a post, are having problems with Chrome, etc, etc, let's try to keep it all in one place.
Please specify if you are reporting a problem with PC or mobile browsing.
Please keep this thread free of clutter and unnecessary discussion so the admins can identify issues quickly.
This thread is not for feedback and suggestions, they go here.
If you want to report issues with the xda Android app, look here.
(Search is down at the moment, so I can't see if a similar thread has been created elsewhere. I can't seem to find one in this forum after going through the last 10 pages. If this is a duplicate, please let me know.)
This whole forum is used for reporting issues with the XDA website
I'm working on the search issue, reindexing the database right now.
If you want a new thread every time there is a new issue, then feel free to delete this one.
There might be an issue with the mention system too, but I'll report that on the appropriate thread.
M still having reloading issues
Xda website keeps on refreshing
Until n unless I press stop
Os - win7
Mozilla firefox 19

Okies I have to change the theme then
I recently received this error message while attempting to update a post with a logcat attachment that I had meant to attach to the post originally but forgot to.
To prevent spam to the forums, new users must wait five minutes between posts. All new user accounts will be verified by moderators before this restriction is removed.

Now I know I'm not a terribly active poster, but I would hardly qualify myself as new, since I joined back in Aug. 2010. How can I go about verifying my account to avoid this in the future? Also, is this the appropriate forum, or should it go under Q&A instead.
Thank you for your assistance.
There is a lot of replies that covered your question. You need to have 30 posts to have these restriction lifted. We can't do anything about that.
Thread closed.
1. How can I remove the posting limit, whenever I try to post it says try again in 5 minutes? Is this a temporary limit?
2. The XDA app frezes after every 5-10 minutes and then it force closes. I reinstalled it but that didn't work.
Sorry guys I don't know where to post such topics.
Please help staff.

To contact XDA staff, you don't need to make a post but just move your mouse and point to the list of moderators on top of every forum header to PM them directly also this can be done by clicking the orange triangle on every post title header on your right corner.
2) To understand posting limit , read this
5 minute restrictions, is due to some people who register on web sites ( any web site including XDA) just to advertise their product, sex trade or call girls services) they normally use bots ( spam bots, which automates their spamming) so you can have numerous threads created by a spammer in a forum or many forums within five minutes, and to try and stop them will be fruitless as they just joined to do it (spam) and quit the forum. They will register again once banned using another name and do it again, so imagine the life of moderator deleting the spam, can be hell indeeed, when this restriction is not practiced, although it will affect legitimate junior members, it cannot be helped till you are a member ( meaning proven as a credible person and valuable member of this community after the initial 10 posts)
3) regarding XDA app you need to post here read or search that thread before posting , might help you understand ho many times such issues had been reported or resolved.
