[Q] Charging and discharging issue - Xperia Z1 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I have a big problem. The battery of my phone is not charging well. The statistics are not accurate and I have already tried to wipe the battery statistics. I feel that my phone does not fully recharge.
- The phone turns off alone before the battery statistics reaches zero.
- When I re-opens my phone after 1 minute of charging, the battery is sometimes already at 75%.
- The lifetime of the battery is a maximum of 2 hours.
All this began after some modification as install a "Custom revovery" and downgrade to Kitkat after updated to lollipop.
If I do not solve this problem, I will migrate to the Galaxy S6.
Help me before that please :crying:
* I have already tried to fix with PC Companion and I also tried to flash the official firmwire with Flashtool.

[Q] Battery History

Hi,
I'm running stock JB 4.1.1 (flashed the GSM version when it came out) on my gnex and as of recently, my phone doesn't charge over 72%. My battery history doesn't make any sense, it gives me the history of the last 20+ days, which is a bit useless. My battery life isn't bad, I get a full day of normal use. Just the stats are messed up.
Anybody ever experienced something similar or has a hint the problem is?
thx

If your phone is rooted you can do the battery recalibration from Cyanogenmods wiki (you don't need CM to do this):
1) Charge the device to full battery; let it keep charging until the battery says it is fully charged. Do not just wait until the light is green, it isn't always fully charged, causing a lot of inaccuracies. (You can check by going to: Settings » About device » Status » Battery Level = Full.)
2) Boot to recovery mode and delete the battery stats (in the advanced menu of clockworkmod's custom recovery). Keep charger plugged in.
3) Reboot the device immediately after wiping the battery stats and wait for [your system] to boot completely to the desktop. Once your entire boot is done and you have full access to the device, go ahead and pull the charger and continue with this troubleshooter.
4) Do not charge the device until after draining the battery completely, resulting in it automatically shutting off. Recharge the device completely and then use as you normally would.
Does this sound like what you are looking for or are you after something else?

LT18i Arc S Battery Drain - The ultimate thread

Hi!!
I'm having terrible battery drain with my Arc S. Bought new last November, had a normal battery life span. In March phone started to lose battery on deepsleep mode (over night, airplane mode on).
I've tried every single rom from GB to ICS to JB, I've spent hundreds of hours reading diferent threads here and every forum I found on google! I've tried everything I've read, made dozens of factory restore on Sony SUS.
Facts:
- Locked BootLoader
- Currently on GB 2.3.4 with Xperia Slim V2.20
- Don't have data plan
- 2G every time
- Drains 3.5% per hour over night with Airplane mode on, after a fresh restart)
- tried a new 2350mAh battery
- Formatted Micro SD Card
- App sync when reinstall programs is off
- Every rom I've tried, made full clean (userdata/system/cache/dalvik) or followed specific rom instructions.
- Tried battery calibration methods from the forum
These battery drain symptoms exists on every single rom I flash!! Stock or custom, GB or ICS. I'm desperate, and to help me out, I don't have the invoice to send it to Sony...
I'm trully desperate, I'm not a noob and I've search and read every singe thing I've found!!!

Seems like one of the apps, that you have installed yourself.
Battery drain does not just start suddenly. Either a newly installed app or something other modification.
Try using BetterBatteryStats and try to see, what consumes juice.
By the way, those battery calibration things are waste of time - they do not help nor improve anything.

which baseband are you using ??
Stock from .42 as I'm on locked bootloader
Gathered some info this morning from BBS .
3hours on deepsleep, plain mode, took 2,5% per hour, clibing to 4,5% during the day, almost no wifi and just a couple of calls
Good morning.
This time got 2.9% per hour overnight as BBS states.
Could someone check this log please??
I genuinely can't understand what's wrong with the phone!
If I take the battery off for some minutes, and put it back on, the battery drops.
On a clean rom from Sony SUS, airplane mode, deepsleep, battery drops!
Please bare in mind that I have more than one battery, and the problem occurs on both!!
Worst damn phone ever had!!Even my nokia 3310 was better than this!! Will not buy Sony Ericson for sure again
Some basics - WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, Sync (also within apps) turned on?
Do you have low signal in your area?
And by the way, do not compare today's smartphones with Nokia 3310. None of today's smartphones can get 2 weeks on a single charge.
Your phone sleeps well so your battery drain problem is not software related. I think that your phone is damaged and If you still have warranty then it's time to use it.
Sony Xperia Arc S Battery Drain
Hey MM
I've got the same model phone as you which also started with normal battery life but recently started draining the battery to the point where I couldn't get 6 hours on standby (powersave mode) without it going flat pffft! All I could pinpoint it to was that it kind of started draining out after I installed the latest facebook app update. I uninstalled it last night & my battery is back to normal. I've had 8 hours on idle time and 3 hours of mild usage (internet & texts) and battery power is still at 92% woohoo! Even though I had all notifcations for facebook turned off, there was something within that friggin app that was draining my battery big time, even when the phone was idle. I now just have the basic facebook app which is pathetic & takes forever to load, so I'm just logging onto facebook via internet browser & all is sweet.

Galaxy tab 3 SM-T210 Problems with battery meter

First sorry for the translation, I'm from Brazil and I'm using translator ok.
I come here asking for help to you to solve a major problem that is plaguing me, and the next have a galaxy tab 3, SM-T210 model, the following is happening and the battery meter this crazy carry the tablet 100% off when I turn on 10 minutes on the battery drops 1% to% the tablet works well for hours, and placed on standby screen off the meter starts back until you reach 100% and so continues the meter is completely crazy, already tried everything restored original factory hard reset, I root already used the battery calibration, practically already tried everything porfavor count on help from you to solve this problem, I'm waiting thanks.
Same problem here. Changed battery and problem remains.
I can use it with 1% for hours, seems some problem with battery meter. I'm about to flash a custom rom / bootloader/ recover from scratch wiping all to see if it helps.
Otherwise I'll need to use it at 1% forever
-----------
Edit 1:
Absurd! Seems this device forgot the low battery level...
Replaced battery, flashed another stock clean rom with latest version (4.4.2)
This "drain" also happens on recovery screen.
It works with 1% during hours... I' ll try to let it drain all (wait it to really discharge all) and recharge 100% again.
-----------
Edit 2:
Haha, went to recovery right after post last update, then it increased from 1% to 100% without the charger
Seems something is messing up with the battery levels on android OS on all versions. I'll let it discharge on recovery... at least seems it is the correct level... let's see if the device learns again the battery levels
-------
Solved: removed battery, hold power button for 30 seconds (to clear all energy accumulated on circuit (capacitors?!) and plugged it again. Worked.
I read about it on some google search.
Dear hugo_prado
i am Tarek from Syria
yesterday, i tried your idea
and it works
i am so happy
thank you so much
god bless you

[Q] Battery Drop on F240k Kitkat Stock

Hi. I'm having a problem with my G Pro Stock Kitkat. After using a battery calibration tool, I suddenly experienced battery drops on my phone. From 100%, i checked the battery settings or status, and it says that I only have 3-5 hours to use my phone. I think it may be incorrect. After some minutes, I see my battery percentage continuously dropping like crazy. Could someone help me fix this? Thanks in advance.

We're going to need additional details in order to diagnose and possibly troubleshoot the battery drain. First and foremost we need to know which particular apps you often use on your phone. From there we'll need to see which apps consume battery while the screen is on and youy're on your phone, and which ones continue to drain while screen is off. I recommend you download battery monitor apps such as GSAM battery monitor (include also the root companion), as well as either wakelock detector or better battery stats. With those apps we'll be able to sense as well whether system processes contribute to the drain.
Drain your battery, have this apps installed then full charge your bat. Once full charged begin monitoring then send screenshots once battery is about to run out.
And also, battery is automatically calibrated by android so battery calibration apps are quite redundant.

[Battery Problem] Battery drains super fast and device overheats

Hey there,
First of all im using android 6.0 and i took of the case.
Last week my device suddenly began overheating and discharging aproximaly 1 precent every 2 minutes . Its even discharging while connected to the charger.
Pretty sure it has nothing to do with battery itself because i tried 4 different original batteries which all work perfectly fine with a different device.
I also tried to factory reset with no help..
I had a few "breaks" from this problem and sometimes it dosn't discharges quickly but when i start to use it, it starts to discharge fast again...
Is there something i can check before i send it away to the company to check it?
Thanks in advance,
Rony.
U need a waklock detecter also stock info whats drianing the bat screen web wifi also u can try safe mode for a few hours to see if its in ure apps or atock system
