Sooo I just copped the Aukey 18W charger and I think it charges faster than the stock LG charger but I'm not sure. Isn't the phone supposed to notify me if QC has activated? I tried it on my G3 and it doesn't even show on that either. Does this thing even work in this? Also, main part of this thread was to start a poll on what you guys think the most effective QC is. Check out the poll.

There obviously are but that wasn't my question. I asked which is effective for the G4 along with a poll. You answered nothing. Read the OP before commenting please.
I've tried every one you have listed plus the ZeroLemon and a Samsung quick charger and they all perform the same, a 20% increase over stock just like I mentioned in my 1st post.

Now this is a helpful comment right here. Thanks. I almost wasted my money buying a different one.
I took a chance at this no-name Chinese Quickcharge 2.0 charger on eBay because Aukey refuses to ship internationally from Amazon, and I was pretty skeptical but this thing actually works. No pops or sizzle sounds emanating from it and it charges much faster than the one that came with the phone.

I just recently bought an 18w Anker quick charge wall charger and it works great. It's faster than stock and doesn't make any noises like the one that came with my phone. What I like about this one is there is a light that turns from blue to green when it recognizes a device that supports quick charge (signifying that it is charging at higher volts). So far I am very pleased with this purchase, though I imagine it is just as fast as most other quick chargers out there. ?
Works great with Samsung Adaptive Quick charge... Also works much better with V10b-EUR-XX than V10a...

In my test, I was connected to wifi, and I used the phone as little as possible, but when I did start using it, of course it immediately started charging a lot slower. I have heard that it deliberately does this to avoid too much heat being generated, I think that was a post on here somewhere, but I'm not sure if that's true or not.
I did tweet LG UK to ask if the G4 supports the 9V tier of quick charge 2.0 , but have yet to get a reply.. Maybe I should ask their support instead.. (Although on that point, I don't think it does, due to the tests been performed with a proper QC 2.0 charger, which still took 99 minutes. The fact that the Anker is only 5v, yet charges at the same speed as a QC2.0 charger, certainly implies that the G4 is only using 5V even if 9V is available on the charger..)
I do want to say though how much I like the Anker products, especially the recent ones I've bought (the USB 3.0 hub with 3x PowerIQ ports, and some cables to go with it). They feel really well made, a solid bit of kit to be honest.
But anyway, hopefully this post was useful.
I've only tried the Aukey and I'm very happy with it. So much so that I picked up the 10000mah external battey as well. It also charges quite fast.

The QC spec only calls for increased charging speed from 0-60%. After that it slows and then trickle charge kicks in when it's close to 100%. Going from 99% to 100% can take 3-8 minutes in my observations.
Unless LG relaxes the heat threshold to let the phone heat up a little more, we won't ever see true QC 2.0 on this phone.
The Aukey one most definitely does not quick charge the G4. Ill link to this other thread if I can find it again, but every single person with the Aukey charger said it did not quick charge their G4's. Several of them tested with USB volt and Ammeters. The Tenergy (and by extension, the Anker quick-charger, which is a re-brand of the tenergy) seems to work at 9 volts. Its a shame, the Aukey charger is pretty darn good looking and comes in a slick package. Its very odd because the Aukey quick-charging external battery on the other hand, does just fine quick-charging the G4.
Platinum 2.0 with QQC (Qualcomm Quick Charge )
Purchased at Best Buy on 6/26 for $24.99 What I have found is that it charges faster below 70 % and about the same as LG standard above 70 %. From te comments I've read I think LG is limiting QQC to protect the phone. IMHO
Using the Samsung quick charger from my previous phone (Note 4), and it works great.
I have a "Zerolemon" brand. It works good. I have another for the car... but not sure what brand. Like always, you have to make sure you use a quality cable before it will work. Coming from the G2, I pretty much already replaced the crappy cables.
I use ZeroLemon and Motorola Turbo. Full charge from few mins to 1.5hr instead of 3-5+ hours using 1A chargers

I just got my Tronsmart 54w 1x qc 2.0 + 3x 2.4mA car charger from amazon. Works as well as the motorola turbo wall charger. Took about 30 mins drive to work to get from 57-97%. Ampere messured approx 1970mA charge rate at start.
Impressive packaging and excellent build quality. Came with thick gauge usb cable. I got at a good price following a slickdeals post.

I don't know about you, but my phone has hit around 112 degrees F when charging. I don't think I want it getting any hotter.

I received a zerolemon for review promotion but I don't think I'll use it for the daily usages. It is packed in my go to bags when I need quick charging but haven't really used much since LG provided extra battery pack dying the June promotion.
That being said I've noticed about 20% faster on ZL QC.

Has anyone had any success with Quick Charge 2.0 on the VZW M9? I have the Tenergy Fast Charger, and it makes a slight difference, but the charging is not all that fast (averaging barely over 1% per minute). Yet, there's an Amazon review of the charger specifically praising its speed on the M9, and I see in the general One (M9) Accessories forum that others have found great success with Quick Charge 2.0 capable chargers.
This makes me wonder if VZW has somehow limited charging speeds on this phone. Or have some of you found success with fast charging? If so, what charger are you using?
I use the anker 40w 5 port iq charger, search that on amazon. I could not be more satisifed with how fast my phone charges (considering today's technology of course)

My HTC qc 2.0 works perfect on the m9. Zero to full in about an hour.

Yes, that is a very nice charger, though it is not actually a QC 2.0 charger. I think that is it's normal price too even though it claims to be on sale.
HTC 2.0 QC works great on my m9 got it right from HTC.com
So does the moto one as my wife uses that on her m9
As long as it says Qualcom Quick charge 2.0 on it you should be fine. I can get from 30% to full in a half hour or so. :good:

I bought some decently chunky six footers from mono price. They work fine with my qc 2.0 charger.

I have so many old HTC cables, that's what I've been using (well the one that came with my m8) with my Anker QC2.0 and works very well.

Works perfect..only thing I notice is when I plug it in.phone begins to lag,I swipe screen and it seems touch sensitivity in not responding well. Then I remove charger and sensitivity is back to normal.this happens regardless if charger is plug to wall or not.

Got the Aukey QC on sale for $10 on Amazon...charges 1% every 44 seconds if I leave the phone alone...very impressive (as using a 2A USB port will charge at a very respectable 1 min 20-40 secs per 1%). I still get 1% per 1 min 15 secs if I am streaming music or web surfing....so very satisfied!

Nice! I have the AC one....my car charger one I bought back when I was on my M8...forget the brand but it is pretty good but not as awesome as this one...I like the two ports...One QC and the other a 5v/2.4A one!
I actually purchased the official HTC QC 2.0 adapter and it works great. 10-100 in about 75 minutes. Expensive @ $35 tho...
My Turbo Charger charges my M9 fast. Shows 1hr and 45 min from 10% to full.

Just like the other Qualcomm certified chargers, you will get the self adjusting voltages (12v-9v-5v) to give you a super fast charge. The extra you get with this Choetech quick charge 2.0 adapter is the USB port on it is reversible! This is the first charger I have seen with this and I now think everything should have this.
Ok now to the real reason you are reading this. The charging puck itself is a nice clean looking puck.
It is defiantly thicker than the cheapo ones you get for a few dollars. It has some heft to it making it feel more premium.
It has rubber top and bottom to keep both the charger from slipping on your desk or the phone from slipping on top the charger.
It will most defiantly charge your Note 5 or other Samsung devices quickly.
It will also charge your older devices as well. I tested it on a few LG phones in addition to the Note 5.
I noticed no abnormal warmth from the charger or any of the phones I tested this with. This is a very welcome thing as most of my other qi chargers do have heat issues.
One final thing, I tested this charger on my moto 360 and it charged it flawlessly. Most qi chargers fail here and will overheat this watch, this one did not and it charged my moto 360 from 19% to full in about 35 minutes. that is about 15 minutes faster than the stock charger does.

It will fast charge at a higher voltage on a Note 5 or S6 Edge+, but will work at normal speeds on every other Qi enabled device, including our moto 360.

I have not tried it but I would assume with how well the fast charge one works, the cheaper one should also work to charge out watches without overheating them.
Interesting charger! Are wireless chargers efficient and as quick as cabled chargers? How long does it complete 100% charging your phone?

Just from experience, no science here.
A normal Qi charger will take about 2 times as long to charge your phone as a standard 2a charger.
This fast Qi charger is about the same speed on a compatible phone as a normal cable charger.
The fastest way to charge is with a qualcom certified quick charger and phone, that is significantly faster than a standard charger.
Think I'll pick one up,no overheating,that's worth it alone.

I've tried multiple quick charge certified wall plugs and a quick charge 2.0 powerbank, the official wire and other wires as well as my old note charger plus wire.
Is this a fault in the firmware or a fault with the phone?
I get the results with the note what I expect. However with the z5 it feels like going back in time with a 'normal charger'
Mines been okay, I even have an Aukey fast charger and it's at the same pace.

I've noticed that quick charging isn't as fast too...I have three quick chargers and all three have worked great for phones like the S6, Nexus 6 and even the Zenfone 2.....I'm going to run my phone down to less than 5% and then watch to see how long it takes to get to 100%. It could be due to the Z5 Premium having a very big battery (3450mah I believe)....My Nexus 6 seems to be the fastest to charge...I have seen it literally go from 10% to 65% in 20 minutes.
I'll try my luck this week and report back for you guys.
As an aside though, I've typically avoided using QC2.0 unless I'm super desperate. That kind of heat and power going to the battery just screams "device killer" to me. I've used it on a Nexus 6, HTC One M9, and a Z3 - same heat issues across the board. I think I'll be relying on my faithful Aukey's standard USB ports. (Aukey PA-T1 54W 5 Port USB charger, fwiw)
Please let us know. So far the assumed quick charge 2.0 is a let down. Be back off to Samsung if not sorted

Not OP but been using the Z5P for the past few days... QC 2.0 is pretty fast, but not as fast as I expected it to be. As far as heat is concerned, I've had no issues from it overheating while charging.

Sony is notoriously conservative when it comes to battery charging. For example the Z3 only used QC2.0 to allow more flexibility in charger cabling - battery current was limited to only 1.5A. With a normal charger you could only hit this if the screen was off with an extremely short cable, with QC2.0 you could hit it even with a thin (more flexible) MicroUSB cable with a right-angle connector that would cripple charging on most phones.
Probe not noticing the results as well with always being on the phone
I bought this one from aukey for €15,- and in dollars like $20
I purchased the aukey quick charge 2.0 charger. It operates fine with my old note 4. So I see this as Sony issue
The device is most definitely using QC2.0 for power input - my Powergen wall charger turns green when the Z5P is plugged in.
Edit: If I'm reading the kernel source correctly, charge current is 2.3A with no step charging. https://github.com/sonyxperiadev/ke...com/msm8994-kitakami_satsuki_common.dtsi#L986 - No way will you hit that without QC2.0 except MAYBE if the screen is off and your USB cable is 3 inches long.
Z5 non-premium is 2.1A with no step charging, Z5C is 2.1A below 65% and 1.5A above 65%

That only applies to the Z5 Compact. Smaller battery makes it easier to stress it. In general, rapid-charging a battery is far more stressful above 60-65% charge than it is below this, which is why so many companies specified "time to 60%" specs - because nearly all of them drop the current past 65%. The Z5P seems to be an exception - it has a lower charge rate (compared to the battery size) below 65%, but maintains this charge rate up to the CC/CV transition point (usually 80-85%).
Rapid charging past the CC/CV transition point cannot be done safely.
In the USA Samsung have a charging kit which includes a 45 watt charger. No sign of something similar in the UK. Anyone spotted the official or compatible charger. Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't be surprised if the performance wasn't on par with the Samsung 45 watt charger due to lack of PPS . Still probably minuscule difference. Need some real world comparisons

I just wonder how important a 45w charger is?
Personally my charge always lasts the day and I set my phone to charge overnight every night. It doesn't matter whether its on a 10w, 25w, or 45w charger - it will still be fully charged by morning.

That's exactly what I've been thinking too. I don't even own a wireless charger, have no need for it. When I need to charge my phone I just charge it with the reg. charger or plug it in, in the car. The existing fast charge technology is fast enough. I added that above post seeing that there is much interest in this subject.
I've heard that the N10+ stock 25W brick takes only about 1 hour+ to go from 25% to full. The 50W charger is just another 'hype', in my opinion, created by the phone manufacturers to show-off that they are on top of the best technology there is. And, of course, to get some extra revenue.
Edit: some reviews say it gets really hot.
This says it uses PPS 2.0, do you guys think it's legit?

I just bought my 45W samsung charger via samsung using my reward points. Total cost is $5 (tax) that I have to pay for out of pocket. Worth it for me.

Personally, I charge my device at least twice a day, more if I connect to my audio interface as that draws power from the phone. I also have the hotspot permanently turned on which can kill the battery really quickly.
Dont really care what it's doing to the battery as it'll be gone back to Samsung next year through the upgrade program.
Just read the Android Authority article on 45 watt chargers and decided to pick up this one. Once my battery has gone down I'll see how much better it is than the one provided in the box.

Almost every article out there now states you need PPS for the super fast charging to kick in. Looking at the specs of that charger, it's all fixed voltages. Not surprised it didn't charge faster.
I'm wondering how the Aukey PA-Y13 will fare, since it does have continuously variable voltage (PPS) but not 10V 4.5A.
I got the Ugreen 45w PD charger.

Unfortunately even having a PPS charger doesn't do the trick - I have an AUKEY 60W charger with PPS and it is charging slower than the stock 25W

You should be able to use most usb C laptop chargers to get the 45W power output, but it also has to have PPS as far as what I have understood. The original one will work of course and it's always the recommended choice - tough you may ask yourself if you really need it.
I bought one for travelling. When flying I have moments that I really have to charge fast. And as it may not be perfect for the battery I will just use it when flying.
I never heard of so much about longevity before the Note7. The way people talk about it like the battery won't even last a year by using faster charging options. I feel they wouldn't give it the option if it would greatly shorten the life of the battery. Makes me wonder if the Note7 never happened the way it did and this charging option we wouldn't be talking about battery health.

I really would like to know more about it. I mostly buy a new one every year, and pass the "old" ones to my (grand)children.:angel:

I bought a belkin QC4 PD charger. 27w. Chargers 50% in 35 mins. Don't buy cheap chinese crap and risk burning your house down.
So I'm having a problem (I think). Until now, I charged my S20ultra with its very fast charger and with my wireless anker (10W model) connected on my usb pc port. While connected on USB port, I know the charge is very slow (takes like 5+ hours from 0 to 100%) since it uses only 5W but I dont mind since it's wireless.
Today I conncted my anker wirless to a normal charger (its the one coming with samsung A51, supports fast charge). I thought that would speed the wireless charge up (since my anker is 10W but on pc usb port it can only use up to 5W), instead its still slow. Using accubattery sometimes i see the actual charge rate rarely go up to 800mA but almost all the time its about 200-400mA. My phone right now is at 54% battery so its not even at the end of a charge (at the end i know it slows the charge up with all chargers), accubattery shows 13%/hour charge which is very slow. Anyone know why this is happening? Why isnt my wireless anker using its full speed?
PS Android says its using wireless rapid charge, so its not like it doesnt recognize it. I also tried removing the cover but doesnt change at all.
Not sure what output your A51 adapter does, but for full 10W output on the Anker wireless charger it must be plugged into an adapter that does 9V-2A output and QC3 compatible.
You can find the output on the wall charger by reading the very small print on it

Thank you!! Well this might actually be it, the A51 adapter is 5V-2A or 9V-1.67A. I guess this might be the reason then... since you've been so kind and you have exactly the same wireless pad I use, can you please link me your adapter? I use a Motorola 27W PD adapter that I had lying around from a previous device but that Anker one you linked should work no problem.

Thank you! One last question... do you think the lack of usb-c port might be a problem? I noticed your adapter uses it but my anker pad has a microusb-usb b cable so I cant use an adapter with usb c but just the old normal usb port... was wondering if that might cause problems. I guess you use a usb c-microusb cable to connect your anker to motorola charger right? Thanks!
Not being usb C on the pad shouldn't be an issue, comes down to how much juice the wall adapter pushes out . And yes I use a USB OTG adapter (usb C male to USB A female) to work with that moto charger. I think you should be fine with that Anker charger you linked and then using the cable that came with the pad.
I only use wireless charging over night so I haven't really tested to see charge rate as I just let it go as I sleep, I'll make an effort to watch it sometime to see what actual rates I'm getting.

Just an update... i received the charger today, but even with this one so far it doesnt seem to change much, it charges like 12-14% per hour. If possible I'd really love to hear from you if your experience is different, I know its hard since you just leave it to charge during night, but maybe if sometimes you happen to charge it for an hour or so during day would be interesting to see if you have similiar results or a faster charge... thanks again!
This is what I'm seeing, granted I was already charged to 60% before I took this screenshot. Also I have an S20, so smaller batt than its big brothers ..
No charger (wireless or wired) will ever reach their theoretical charge rates ... I know me using an OTG adapter into my PD charger leaks power almost as much as wireless charging itself . Convenience is why I use it though..
I think for the best/fastest Qi charging, we have to get the Samsung official charging docks/pads.

Thank you man... one question, does it stay at around 1100-1200mA all the time? What I noticed is that my phone sometimes goes up to even 1400-1500mA but it stays like that for a very short time, few minutes, then rolls back to 200-400 most of the time (so very slow). If your phone is always charging at least 1000-1100mA then for sure theres something wrong with me, but i read a lot of other people seem to have problems with s20/s20+/s20ultra wireless charging, even with the samsung original 15W charger. Thanks!

i never see drop below 1000ma, is the low end... again as i charge overnight I'm not sure if it drops past that, but it sounds like you have way slower charging than me..
i still carry my anker pd charger for true fast charging

Mine is Exynos, and even the 20+ from this other guy having problems with samsung own 15w wireless is exynos. Would be sad if this was just another problem with exynos, not being able to charge it as fast as with SD. You've been very kind, the last thing you could do is maybe sometimes when you charge it, see if accubattery is really always at 1000mA or more, or actually drops by half if not more for you as well sometimes. I'd be happy to even have a steady 700-800mA charge, problem is that its almost always under 500, but for a very short time i DO see it going up to 1400 so it means the power provided can reach the phone, it just doesnt last, i really wonder why.
If you could check once in a while would be really appreciated. Thanks man!

It's been solid @ this rate till ~60% then drops down to 1000-1200 ... haven't seen any spikes or dips, it's pretty consistent. Don't know what to say, it's a bummer that your device seems to have issues with Qi charging. And doubly sucks if it's an issue w/ Exynos devices. Wish there was another person here who could chime in

Seems everything is in order with you. I also wish more people would jump in sharing experiences, sadly it seems not many of us charge it with wireless. Other day I was searching online and on Reddit I found some s20+ exynos user with the samsung 15w wireless original charger with the same problem, there would be almost no difference between that charger and a 5w one. The chances that its both his charger faulty and my s20 ultra as well are very low (beside my s20 with cable and 25w samsung charger goes to full in about an hour, and if it was a problem with wireless it wouldnt charge at all all the time ), so maybe the problem could actually be exynos but who knows... anyway thanks a lot for your help, lets hope someone else jumps in this thread. I was almost rdy to buy the (very expensive) 15w samsung charger but at this point im not even sure its really faster.
Update: just put on the pad to charge, was at 26%, went to 32% and accubattery showed always 1400-1500mA. Now its stuck below 500 again, temperature 36.4C so not even hot to drop. I really am gettin pissed off at this, how is it possible it charges full power for a short time and then drops.
Another update... Anker just replied to my email sent days ago about my problems with the charger, here it is:
"Recently, our various markets have feedback that this S20 cannot achieve fast charging. The specific reason is that our engineers are still testing. Because we did related tests before it was put on the shelves, there was no problem. But now it is confirmed that there is a problem, so we recommend that you do not buy new products for now."
So apparently there is a known problem, altho im not sure hes talking about s20 in general or about s20 ultra since i wrote i had an s20 ultra in my original email. Also its not clear if its just markets with exynos or those with SD as well. But it does seem that there is a problem that they know about...
