If you have tried a restart with no help, smartswitch may be your solution.
It may have a restore option without data loss.
I haven't used it because my S6e is running perfectly with no issues or lag, great battery life and coma like deep sleep.
I'm also on ota with 4 pages of junk apps disabled.

What is smart switch? I did download the app in galaxy store to replace icons but that didn't work for that. I'd that what you mean?

Smartswitch replaces Kies as the Samsung backup /recovery app that you run on your pc.
Not sure but I think you download it from Samsung apps.
Edit; in the play store.
Edit; play store has mobile version, smartswitch pc you get from Samsung.com.

On my note 2 I use to take screenshots of my Arvest bank app to show like my sister my balance.
But in the Note 3 on the app I get the error "Unable to capture screen. DRM protected image.
Anyone know how to disable this so I can take screenshots of the bank app again?

If it were my guess, it'd be the bank application over-riding the screenshot, not that the phone isn't capable. Obviously to protect your info. Try either the Internet browser or get on a laptop and take a picture of it?

I have. No go. This is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever come across.
Just fyi, if you're gonna try to use a pc with Windows 8, the apps black out the screen when you use "print scrn". So use the web browser.

I got the same problem with B of A. I could take screenshots before there latest update now I get the DRM error.
I don't have a Note 3, but instead a AT&T Note 2 and I have the same error as well on Bank of America's app. A Google search brought me here. I have 4.4.2.

Banks ain't protecting you, their protecting themselves. They don't want your information getting out and them having to shell out money to you because of their protection policy to the customer.

I just flashed the Infamous GE 4.4.2 Rom on my tmo S4 and keep getting this error message when my phone boots:
"Unfortunately SAPedometerSettingProvider has stopped"
I'm also unable to install the Samsung App Store app or get notifications on my watch.
I also got an error message about this app that is not found or can't run:
com.samsung.android.notiprovider..... (don't remember the rest, but looks like the notification service)
I'm guessing that i'm missing some samsung bloatware but not sure.
Can anyone help me troubleshoot this?
Would returning to the stock firmware possibly fix this?
Some custom roms like Wicked 10 support using galaxy gear. I'd flash one of those if I had galaxy gear.

I just read the thread and they say it syncs with the phone (which the infamouse GE kitkat ROM also does) but some of the apps i want like svoice and notifications don't work and won't work because of the framework.
so i guess the best option to get everything working is the stock ROM?
Anyone know how to fix this on the custom roms?

Okay, it's a stand alone mod that flashes S5 apps over your current S4 settings and apps. What recovery do you use? Did you wipe dalvik/cache? I'm assuming you didn't make a backup before attempting this? Of course not, well you could always flash a custom ROM over this to fix or flash a stock ROM. If you want the S5 settings(you obviously do since you attempted this) I suggest trying out Insane KitKat in the Android development section of the T-Mobile s4. The dev has given you a choice to flash his ROM with s5 settings and even some apps including the browser, download booster, the calculator, etc. Let me know what you end up doing.

You're device is rooted, you've already tripped your flash counter. This would be void through JUMP unless you go back to complete stock using one of the tutorials here on XDA. I'm glad you mentioned that because I am a employee for T-Mobile. When you bring in the device, we'd do a software check. It checks the build, baseband, kernel, and flash counter. So what you really need to do at this point is return to full stock

Debloat listed apps to speed up or eliminate lag. Uninstall apps not needed, Freeze apps or system files you're not sure to Uninstall. And then create or wait for custom roms.

System App Remover (root) is excellent for this.
This is excellent free app for debloating. It tells you what can be safely removed and what should be left alone and allows for batch uninstall.

Well played
Big one for me is getting up and running quick with Titanium Backup restores. Bought before root was out this time but normally.
Disabling stuff too.
Adblock plus, Lucky patcher
Also upgrade Google Maps back to 6.14.4 is a huge one on my phone. Not so much on the tablet but I may use it in the car more. Will need My Maps for travel.
Custom ROM's when they are out.
Probably forgetting something.

I've never rooted a Samsung device before. Is it worth it to do now or wait until there are roms available? Do you worry about warranty if you find a hardware issue?
How much would you say debloating helped with speeding up your device? Does it fix the delay from when you press the home button and the animation running? Does it smooth out the stuttering in animations?

How will you use google map/navigator on the tablet? Is your table with 4G? As far as I know google map requires network access.
I am using CoPilot for navigating in the car. It uses downloaded maps.
With my phone I have been using google navigation but I did not like it too much. It is too insistent with its idea of where to go. It will only
recalculate the route after many miles passed its suggested direction. I had this issue in highway, it may be different in city navigation.
I rooted my S 8.4 wifi (T700) and cleaned bloatware.. now I would like to install twrp or cwm.. to make a backup and play deeper with the toy..
Has anyone done it already? Any different from other androids?
Thx.
@Peter234: Probably tethering. I have zero problems using my Note 3 as a hotspot. I also think that Google Maps will let you 'cache' a route as well; IIRC it's one of the Labs features.

Debloating doubles your battery life, and the device will always respond much faster because those running system apps eat up a lot of RAM and CPU power. After I did a massive debloat, the lag and stuttering pretty much went away.
You can also install root apps, which can speed up your RAM, prolong battery life, and improve performance. My favorites are Greenify, SD Booster, and Autokiller.
http://www.phonearena.com/news/Got-ROOT-Here-are-the-root-Android-apps-you-must-try_id46065
De bloating does not double your battery life not even nearly double. Also 80% free RAM is no quicker than 20% free RAM. Sure, improvements can be had but let's keep things in the realm of reality here.
What the best way to be able to remove bloat wear from Samsung and ATT? I know a specific ROM would help but If I want to stay with stock, can I get ride of this?
Thanks

This is all I could do also.. you can disable most of the bloat.. but it's still there taking up space.
I wonder though.. does disabling really disable everything ? Without extensive testing and monitoring.. one can only wonder..

Ok. I thought you disabled the apps using the Settings>Application Manager route. In the application manager you can see many other apps also which are not listed as your apps but are running in the background and can be disabled. Also, using this method, for each app you can first clear the data and cache before disabling / turning off the app thereby freeing up some more space taken by these apps.
I would love to know this as well, specifically the ones not found in the app drawer
Is disabling the app like freezing the app?

Without root you probably can't freeze apps. You can probably only turn them off
