So I love chrome for its open tab and bookmark syncing, but it's just unusable on my N7. Constant freezing and scroll lag. Tried multiple roms and kernels and still a no go. Tried a few other lately and seemed to have settled on lightning browser. What about everyone else?
I love this tablet but not being able to easily browse the web is driving me insane.
I use chrome and Firefox

Strange, because I don't have any problem with chrome here...
Chrome, no problem.
Dolphin (because it supports Adobe Flash)
I am using Firefox beta with uBlock and noscript. Dolphin was really great but I ditched it when it was found out that all your browsing urls were relayed to some dubious third party server. It is now fixed they say but who knows.
#NoChromo, but not for every day use.

Since jb has no flash but i know flash can be installed but i have some questions. I use opera Mini on my tablet but i personally liked the android browser on my mobile as whenever i am planing on doing anything on the web rather than basic stuff (news etc) on my mobile. in fact when I'm at home i just use my PC as i am sure many of you all do the same. (right now my warrantied PC is in for work i got a better deal buying from a retailer but i should have built myself another story...)
This all came about from a meme i was on reddit and for the first time ever i clicked a link and the browser told me i could not view the quick meme page due to the fact that html5 is not supported so no i didn't even see the meme.
So the meat of the issue since the default browser does not have the ability to use html5 will it use flash if installed?
Is their a browser that supports html5 for android?
Is their any info on when or if the default browser will support java?
I have heard many times that chrome will become the default browser (i thought it would be in JB but it doesn't look like it) can chrome use java? i have not tested any mobile browser for features and have not found a chart online just reviews (you should use Firefox for your browser kinda stuff) Just cause i said that
i bet Firefox will be one of the good ones LOL
Personally i like the chrome and the android default browser with tabs idk but it works well on my phone.

I used Xscope for years after getting my first Android, the first MyTouch, Boat browser was the first one that was able to pull me away from it. I kept trying Dolphin, Chrome, Firefox, Maxthon, Opera, UC, Puffin, Angel, ICS Browser +, all of them but it was always Xscope and now it's Boat. It's so fast, has everything you need and nothing you don't, support for flash, a few themes (i still use the default black though), it's great, I don't have a single bad thing to say about it.
I use Boat as my default browser, too.
The only thing is that sometimes, it takes a few attempts to select a link within the page unless I play with the zoom in/out and then open it in a new window.
Other than that, I really like my Boat.
I really like boat, but it crashes when I try to play flash contents. It works fine on firefox... I cant find any fix for it :/

I use Boat as my default browser. Tried Dolphin, Firefox, Xscope, Next, Ocean, Chrome, Stock, and others, but I always go back to Boat.
Boat browser has always been my favorite/"download" browser. If the download fails you can just push retry and it usually picks up where it left off. I once started a download at around 9 in the morning on 4g, it failed cuz I have horrible reception at work, and I resumed when I got home on wifi with no problems
I have Chrome, Opera, Stock, Chrome, Dolphin and Boat on my phone, and I always return back to boat. It's just great.
I use dolphin because of lastpass integration.
I have boat installed for flash sites
I tried Boat Browser because others have suggested it but I didn't see any advantage to it over Dolphin Browser. I also use the Dolphin Lastpass plugin; really handy! FYI: the new Dolphin Browser Beta supports Flash Player!
http://dolphin-browser.com/beta/
Boat Browser used to be a simple, clean, and intuitive er imo. Then, it got all big and fancy, adding extensionions, pro keys, etc... It's frankly just not the same.
However for those looking for something clean, I've given Next Browser a try... Not bad, but I do prefer Chrome (sans the lag - just gotta clear cache every now and then )...

Hi,
What's the best browser if I want flash support, and strict pop-up blocking?
I'm using Dolphin browser HD (an old version that supports flash), which works with flash ok, but it lets the pop-up's through (even though pop-up blocking is turned on).
Any suggestions?

I wonder why Firefox doesn't offer a homepage. I personally set my homepage to my Google Reader page. I get to see some headlines before surfing throughout the day.
Having tabs on startup just creates more clicks without any added benefit.
Also, the switching through tabs is a nightmare compared to Dolphin.
Tried FireFox and it doesn't support flash well at all. Embedded videos are very hard to use compared to the stock Samsung browser. And Firefox definetly still allow the popups through

I just wanted to share it because the only other available guides for installing Flash for our devices that I've seen seem to involve a lot of unnecessary steps/videos/ad-based links, popups and even dead ends.
This is just a simple straightforward apk download and install.
Hope this helps.
I just downloaded the latest apk from their archives, and installed it as a normal app. Works perfect. You can keep current with this site. Just check once in a while to see if there was an update:
Just scroll down to "Flash Player for Android 4.0 archives"

Sent from my SM-N900T using Xparent Pink Tapatalk 2
Chrome uses HTML5, and native codes to play videos. I've been able to play all videos in Chrome that only used to play in other browsers that needed Flash Player. It's a toss up now for me. If you like Chrome then use it. If you find a site that won't play videos then at least you can fall back to another browser that can use Flash Player like Firefox.

Yes. Just note if you're on anything before 4.1 you can just install from the Play Store. 4.0 is the last official version supported, but it still works even on 4.4.

I used to use Dolphin Browser but stopped a long time ago after seeing how they collect your data and ALL sites you browse to get sent to their servers. Take a minute to review their official messed up privacy policy here
http://dolphin.com/privacy/privacy-policy-for-dolphin-browser/
Key points:
Each time you visit a website, the Dolphin Browser client needs to send your current user URL to the Dolphin Browser server.

PUFFIN/DOLPHIN/OPERA...... I look for the fastest browser. I'm not that worried about privacy, mostly due to the fact my credit blows zebra nuts and I'm not that interesting. If you want total privacy throw your phone e in a mud puddle, give back your DL and SS card, pitch a tent in the woods while wearing camo and learn to farm and shoot squirrels. Or use Tor/Orbot but I'd suggest doing some reading and at least know what bridges are and how to implement properly.... maybe become multi lingual in the computer world.
I used a browser called Naked Browser. It's free, but has flash and is very light on resources with lots of options. It's pretty no frills in terms of appearance, but it's now my favorite browser after trying Chrome, Firefox, Dolphin, and the stock browser.
I have become very fond of boat browser.

Dolphin was my favorite for years but I just discovered CM browser (from the developer of Clean Master) and I find it faster and less hard on the battery. It may not have as many features as Dolphin, but I was not using those features on Dolphin anyway.
