[Q] G pad 8.3 Root problems - G Pad 8.3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I previously rooted my tablet. Then Verizon finally put out 5.0 lollipop update. Now rootchecker, superuser, and other root tools says my tablet isn't rooted but stumproot says it is. I want to reroot my tablet can any one help?

Use LG Flash Tool 2014 to flash the 24A KDZ, use Stump to root, put the bump'd 4.2.2 aboot (bootloader) on and install the loki'd TWRP v2.7.0.1. Upgrade to ClockworkMod Recovery (thread in Development) and then flash my ViKtory810 ROM from my thread listed in my signature below. I haven't updated my ROM OP, I know I say to use TWRP but flashing SuperSU.zip in TWRP and trying to boot 35A_08 (official LG Lollipop) has caused problems for some people that's a little bit of a pain to get out of. My ROM thread has all the rest of the instructions you need once you have custom recovery on there.

Root/Recovery question after KK TOT

So I used the TOT method to install KK ROM on the E980 and am wondering if I can install freegee and reroot my phone and install CWM which in turn I can use to install the CWM that actually works with KK. Or, would I experience a boot loop? Thanks.
FreeGee needs to have its supported devices updated by the developer; TWRP 2.6.3.3 will work in a limited fashion, CWM not at all. In the meantime, use the root method for F240 models to root, it works for us (there's a thread for it in either development or original development, I can't remember which). Then, you can install the CWM-based recovery via APK that's referenced in the same thread. That's the best we can do for now.

LG V500 stock recovery image

Hi Guys,
I searched the forums and only found dead links. I am searching for the stock recovery image for my g pad. Anyone have it?
I am on V50020d, 4.4.2, 3.4.0.
I am rooted (towelroot) and using Flashify. I accidentally flashed TWRP 2.8.0.0 before I unlocked the bootloader. I read that if I try to unlock the bootloader now that I will soft brick my g pad. So I am planning to flash the stock recovery image using flashify and then unlock the bootloader so I can flash TWRP again and then install Slim rom.

10R root: Downgrade or update to LP

I have a G3 in white running 10r. To get root should I do the downgrade method or do any existing root tools manage to get root on Lolipop? LP is 20b baseband, correct?
EDIT: I just used LG Root Script v1.2 and it worked perfectly. Got root, installed Flashify from the app store and used that to install TWRP 2.8.6.0. Literally the easiest root -- installing recovery on any device ive ever owned

[Q] Secure booting error : Boot certification verify in recovery mode

Hello !
I installed the 5.1.1 AOSP rom to update my 5.0 rom (AOSP too) by my TWRP recovery. I wanted to next flash SuperSU, but when i try to enter in recovery mode, i got this : "Secure booting error : Boot certification verify". I tried to reinstall the recovery, but i need to be rooted, and for being rooted, i need to flash SuperSU, so i'm stuck.
I can use my tablet perfectly, but i can't get to the recovery.
Thank you for your help !
What variant of the the G Pad 8.3 are you using? VK810, V500, V510? You HAVE to find out how to root first because without root, you can't flash a custom recovery. I only know rooting details for the VK810 and I'm guessing you have the V510 (GPE - Google Play Edition) since you say you're on AOSP already. I'm sure if it's rootable there's a thread in these sections about it for your variant. When a device is rootable, there's always an initial way to get there without flashing SuperSU, except possibly for Samsung when you can flash ODIN-compatible repackaged custom recoveries.
I forgot to put it but i have a V500, i didn't had this problem when i installed 5.0 AOSP (firstly i had the LG stock ROM).
I saw that i can install TWRP with ADB, but it is for the GPE only :/
If you already had TWRP flashed then you've got some other problem going on. Maybe you have to downgrade the bootloader (aboot.img) in order to get into custom recovery on the V500? We do on the VK810. If that's the case then that means that somehow you had updated your bootloader since the last time you got into TWRP.
You might end up having to go back to square one, put whatever stock ROM on it that allows you to root it and install TWRP, ensure you can get into TWRP and the ROM fine, then flash whatever ROM you want. If the ROM you want doesn't already have root capability baked in, such as current CyanogenMod builds do, then make sure and flash SuperSU from TWRP before you exit out of custom recovery.

How to Install TWRP on Lollipop

Okay so, since all the links for AutoREC are broken. I wanted to know, how can I install TWRP on my US990 LG G3 running Android Lollipop (20A firmware)? Is it possible without AutoREC? I know the BUMP'D method will NOT work with Lollipop and the US990 has no flashable Lollipop ROM nor does it have flashable modems... The reason I ask is that I need the lollipop modems and everything installed to flash a marshmallow ROM (so it will be stable) and with KitKat modems it ends up crashing and messing up... So all in all, I need to install TWRP to Lollipop (20A) on the US990 (U.S. Cellular variant).
