Does anyone else notice that their WiFi calls using apps like Hangouts Dialer and Facebook Messenger are not clear and static?
Also my wifi seems to sometimes not load a page even though connected.

I also face "weak connection" problems while on video call (facebook messenger, viber) even though wifi signal indicator is full! In general wifi works like a charm.. Any ideas?????

When I swipe to the left after getting a Hangouts message I get the chat history BUT it only shows my side of the conversation which is both weird and useless. I really want to see what the other person has been saying. Its a GV conversation using Hangouts so not sure if that's the reason. Anybody else? Hoping they fix this soon because right now using Hangouts on the watch is not really possible.

That is strange. I haven't been using google voice in hangouts yet that much. But regular hangout chats so both parties on the watch.
Its suppose to show both side of the Convo in History.
Is it a SMS or Hangout chat?
GV SMS via Hangouts. Super freaking annoying. Really hope they fix it fast

Reset your device. If many others aren't having this problem (I'm not) it may take a while before Moto releases a fix for it since it might not be known.
Resetting your device should only take 3-4 mins at most.
If not try uninstalling and reinstalling hangouts. and restarting your watch.
I cannot manage to use a different messaging app other than Hangouts. If I switch the default application to anything other than Hangouts I simply don't receive any texts at all. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
I had issues with both hangouts and stock app as far as receiving/sending sms/mms (depending on which app I used) but somehow. I noticed that the issues happen with wifi calling enabled. Disabled, haven't had any problems since.

That's funny, because I can't receive any SMS or receive calls until I enable WiFi calling. After that, I can turn off WiFi calling and I still get SMS and calls. But if I reboot the phone, I have to enable WiFi calling again to "fix" it again. Then I can turn it off again if I so desire.
So i live in a very weak signal area and as such love the ability to use wifi calling ( i couldn't talk on my phone at home most days before) but one thing that still bugs me is sms and mms. i have tried several apps to send text with mobile data off ( but wifi calling on) and connected to wifi to send but they all fail. even the Verizon message + app fails to send . Is there a texting app that will send and receive Verizon sms and mms over wifi? i have tried message+, Samsung stock app , textra , google messages and hangouts .. all fail. if i turn on mobile and am in a good signal area , they all work fine. i just need a solution so i can text from home with mobile data off ( essential off anyway due to aforementioned signal issue..
Do you have root?
If you change the build.prop id to another device (like a samsung tablet) then Verizon Mesaging + will let you send text over wifi.
I did it about a year back and it worked great. The deatails are buried in the note ii forum.
My moto z play is connected to tmobile's network. I'm using qksms as my sms app. Whenever I try to send a picture as an sms attachment, it just gets stuck sending and never finishes. If someone tries to send me a text with a picture attached, I never get the message. As soon as I disconnect from wifi or turn wifi off, I am able to send and receive sms picture message perfectly. Does anyone know how to fix this? I thought my apn was setup correctly. But maybe it isn't.
Edit: Apparently it is a problem with qksms. I switched to YATTA and it works perfectly now. Chomp and textra are also fine so it's just something wrong with QKsms.
Some carriers will only route MMS over the data connection. They can't authenticate via wifi. Most SMS apps are aware of this and are smart enough to force cell data even when you have a Wi-Fi connection.
Hi folks,
I've got a new problem that started after I updated my D851 from (stock/rooted) Lollipop to (stock/rooted) Marshmallow.
When I'm home, I've got a decent LTE signal (ATT, though using the T-Mobile phone variant). But since I'm home, my phone connects to my wifi and uses it for data. I have no problem making/receiving calls or SMS texts to a single person at a time.
However, as long as I'm connected to WIFI (with my cellular signal present but not used for data due to the WIFI), neither MMS nor group texts work. In the stock Messages app, or the Messaging app I actually usually use, these MMS or group texts sit there as "sending..."
If I turn off the wifi, the cellular data signal is used immediately and the texts go through. Same goes for receiving MMS.
Again, this only happens since the marshmallow update that I applied a couple weeks ago.
I have not found a fix. I found lots of people complaining, and a few proposed solutions, like changing the APN so that the APN Protocol would be set to IPv4/IPv6 instead of the default IPv4. See here for that reference, though it didn't work for me:
https://support.t-mobile.com/thread/61843?tstart=0
Anybody have a fix for this? it's a real problem particularly for incoming messages. I can always toggle wifi off if I want to send something, but not knowing when something is coming in gets to be a problem. SMS from single conversations come through.
Please help me troubleshoot this. I've googled my fingers to the bone and while I've found reports of issues like this going back years, no actual solutions that work for me.
HELP!
There's one workaround so far... using Textra as the messaging app. It has an option called the T-Mobile Wifi Calling fix (in Settings/MMS/scroll down to bottom). Even though my wifi calling is set to off, since I'm on ATT, enabling this setting in Textra automatically toggles off WiFi to send MMS/group sms, and it does the same when it detects an attempted incoming MMS.
I much prefer the Google Messages app, for a variety of reasons, and I'm looking to figure out a real fix rather than this workaround. Any help most appreciated.
