Certain apps displaying only top left quarter - ZenFone 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has anyone else encountered this issue with this device, or any others running Lollipop?
To explain the situation, I've encountered the following:
1) bvnc Pro connecting to a 4 monitor desktop only shows the top left monitor unless you set the display choice from 'Auto' to 'Fullscreen bitmap'. Same thing with a 1 monitor desktop, but you get just the top left quarter of the one.
2) ES File Explorer, when opening any image within it's Image Browser only shows the top left quarter. All other image apps I've tested work correctly.
There may be a few others, but they may also be just due to a lowered device dpi.
I've tried changing the device dpi back to stock, as well as played with per-app settings. No change.
A Galaxy S4 running the optimized build of CM12 (5.0.2), does not reproduce these issues.
My phone is the 2.3GHz, 4GB ZE551ML, running 2.18.x firmware.

Froyo 2.2.2 UK Retail Issues

I will update this thread as I found issues.
1. Middle of downloads the phone turned off and refused to switch on. Taking the battery out enabled restarting the phone again.
2. Despite of master reset/factory reset the phone is really laggy. Freezing applications made Defy very responsive but under 2.2.2 it appears no difference at all. (Second factory reset seems brought back somme life to my phone now...)
3. Definitely something is causing an annoying delay at startup even though the phone appears to be ready to use.
4. I have noticed once after a restart the capacitive buttons didn't light up for 1-2 minutes even though I was using the phone. The LauncherPro is installed and I'm suspecting that is the culprit here.
5. Once a number is dialed the phone locks itself. This is rather inconvenience when you need immediately use the key pad to select options. (20 June 2011)
Guidelines - 20 June 2011
I decided to write a guideline for Defy users. The information provided here have already been mentioned by others but normally not in one place. Please follow the steps below every time you flash a new ROM.
1. Master Reset (Whether you like this step or not this is required to do. Imagine upgrading a windows machine, it would be simply a mess in most cases. Any pro users would tell you always to do a clearn install. The same principle with Android applies)
2. Discharge the battery (It seems flashing a ROM messes up the battery calibration. Drain the battery to the point it won't boot then recharge it from the wall socket)
3. Avoid Restoring Apps (Only if is a must. Since Android 2.2 is different to 2.1 many apps might not work very well with the same settings restored from 2.1. Some vendors also offer different version for Android 2.2 or higher. Installing from market is best practice)
4. Avoid using widgets (They are simply battery eaters. Avoid them if they don't provide useful functionality to you)
5. Don't trust all vendors (Many apps placed on Android Market is written by programmers with no experience at all. A badly written app not only drains more battery but also takes up more precious RAM than it should. The less RAM you have, the slower the phone performs)
6. Don't keep large number of emails in your inboxes (They simply take up more memory)
7. Charge your mobile from wall socket when you can. It really does make a difference and also a recommended method by Motorola.
8. Put the Mobile Network to 2G when you can. It does save considerable amount of battery.
9. Switch off the phone once per day for 30 seconds before switching it on again.
Any chance to get hands on SBF for this release

I notice on my handset (UK T-Mobile eclair) that the capacitive buttons sometimes dont light up when holding the phone landscape. I think there is a light sensor somewhere which detects the ambient light and adjusts the capacitive button lighting.

That will get you the motorola update software.
During the update the .sbf is downloaded. We need to get the sbf, however it is deleted once the update has finished. I think this happens when the motorola software asks to "reboot phone, connect usb and verify update".
Please, if anyone does the update make sure to find the .sbf file and copy it somewhere safe before the update is verified. Then post to xda of course

I'm not sure either, I reverted to 2.51 and did the update form that point.
Anyone installed CM over 3.4.2_177-3?

Thanks for that. I can actually reconfirm the issue. Last night when I was setting my alarm, with no lights in the room, I noticed once again the capacitive buttons' led were off. I was helding the phone in portrait and I know for sure this problem wasn't there in 2.1 because I always set my alarm after I turn the lights off (Bedroom's). When I press the Home Key to come out of the Alarm app the capacitive buttons lit up again.

If the msu is compiled by Motorola then I'm sure you won't be able to upgrade. The .msu can contain many other smaller installers that can do all the checking, exactly the way the update program does. Your only solutuion is to revert back to Motorola's stock ROM and give it a try.
Two more very annoying Defy/Froyo issues:
1) You can't disable the lockscreen anymore, so prepare for a lot of annoying swiping. Yes, you can get rid of the slider with an app called "No Lock," but this will also disable your security lock (pin code or pattern) which leaves your phone wide open.
2) The new gallery has more eye candy but less functionality, and it got slower too. If you open the folder list you can't read long folder names anymore. Is there is a way to run the old 2.1 gallery on Froyo?
I found the gallery the worst bit. So poor, I can't believe they let it go out like that. Runs like a dog.
I feel embarrassed for Motorola. Or I would if they were not working hard every day making their great hardware under-perform!
Seriously what a phone once CM is on it!

As far as I'm concerned Motorola has degraded the phone and I'm not too sure if that is legal or not. I'm referring to the apps Motorola developed such as the video player and the gallery that you pointed out, not the Android itself. The additional Task Manager that was shipped with 2.1 in US is a welcome.
I have found my defy is performing slower, unless those claim Defy performs better with Android 2.2 has some settings that I don't. I ended up installing SetVSel to speed thigns up. It seems to me I'm getting 1/4 less juice out of my battery. I can reconfirm it once I play music on it for a couple of hours.
Not wanting to sound negative all the time, here are some positive things I found so far. I'm very happy with this update because now I got all my emails working on my handset which was important to me which missed the feature for the past 6 months. The browser appears to work very smoothly in most cases. I haven't used the Tasks app yet but that is another welcome addition as I always have a need for such features on portable devices. Other positive things about Android is to thank google not Motorola anyway. The slightly improved dialer worth just mentioning about it.
If Motorola refuses to give us Gingerbread then I hope they provide an update to fix some minor issues that either annoying or impacting the user experience soon enough.
I gotta say I'm pretty surprised about all the issues people are facing with the Froyo update everywhere. I had the french update installed which was one of the first available in Europe before moving on to the leaked 2.3.3 and it was smoother than ever. No bug at all except for the space touch getting a bit crazy while typing a text a few times. I didn't have many applications installed. A few people mentioned the update's fine as long as you don't have much installed on the phone but it starts getting extremely laggy when you keep installing more and more applications. After a factory reset there shouldn't be any lags though !

QuickPic would be the best gallery app if it would let us change the grid size (the thumbnail previews are too big now) and if it had "all photos" and "all videos" views. Unfortunately QuickPic only does folders.

Thank you for your post. In my experience there was a noticeable performance difference between 2.1 and 2.2.2 before a single application was installed. One theory to why some people are happy with the performance and others are not could be down to different components used in Defy. No one knows for sure if all Defy around the globe use exactly the same components or not. As you pointed out installing apps appears to effect the performance so we can conclude those that are not experiencing performance decrease are not power users.

I am confused, all my photos and videos are in folders anyway and all the previews load like lightning so i fail to to see the problem, it is better than any default gallery whichever way you look at it.
Anyway only issue i can find with the retail 2.2 is how low highest screen brightness setting seems to be, the display is really hard to read outside now.
If you have a hundred pictures scattered over ten folders, would you want to tap into those folders one by one to browse all your photos?
Just like there's a unified inbox for mails from many accounts so you don't have to jump from one mailbox to the next, the stock gallery has a unified pictures view (all pictures in one grid) for all your folders.
If you want to swipe through lots of pictures from a bunch of different folders, having them all in one grid beats having to open all the different folders one by one.
If QuickPic would have the same unified picture view and custom picture grid sizes I would throw the stock gallery out. While QuickPic is working on it (are they?) I'll keep both apps.
The problem with the capacitive buttons that not lighting up is worse than I thought. It happens all the time, it doesn't light up and the only way to make it to work, when it gets really bad, by locking the phone (power switch) and unlocking it again.
The battery life noticeably shortened after the update. What I have done today was to completely discharge the battery to the point it doesn't turn on. Recharged it fully again without turning it on and from the wall socket. I'll report back if there was any improvements on Monday.
I also uninstalled VSel and set it to default CPU speed again. Despite of freezing so many apps and services the start up is really slow and I really feel the lag with the phone.
Another Defy/Froyo bug:
Dial *#*#4636#*#* to get into a service menu. From there battery_history/network_usage would tell you network traffic per app since last boot/unplugged/all time.
In Eclair all data was counted. In Froyo it usually doesn't count anything.

[Q] Disappointment w/GPE. Tips/pointers?

Received the GPE yesterday. Also have the Nexus 7.2, I can return either tablet.
The screen size of the GPE is an immense upgrade. My old eyes or whatever, but if a web page or magazine doesn't allow zoom I have to work to read on the 7. Nowhere near an issue on the GPE.
Everything else, though, is a definite downgrade.
Before I decide which tab to keep, are there are apps/tweaks for the GPE that might improve a couple of things:
display: Whites are "dingy" with a yellowish cast. I have screen adjuster installed. Adding blue helps. But it only allows for adding color. Is there an app that has the color slide set in the middle as opposed to at the zero point so I can subtract as well as intensify one of the colors??
Also, it's pretty dim. Is there a way change the sensitivity of the auto brightness, ie so that at a given ambient light it sets the screen brighter than stock?
scrolling: It is a little more "ratchety". Odd, since it's the 600 v 400 processor in the 7. I have 4.4.2 installed. Would rooting help even if I don't use a custom ROM (the 7 is rooted but running stock)?

1. The display is what it is. I have been waiting for a higher resolution 8 inch tablet for over two years. This is the first and probably will be by itsself for a long time, others would have been released by now for the holiday season. This is not to excuse LG for skimping out on the display, they make the retina displays for MacBook Pros and iPads for goodness sake. However, I am going to keep it over my Nexus 7 2013 because the size of the display is worth the drawbacks for me.
2. I assume you mean scrolling in Chrome. Beats me why it is always jerky, has been for years. Good news is that the AOSP browser is now in Google Play without needing root. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=me.android.browser
Install it and you will have a much smoother experience.

You can try Lux Auto Brightness or a similar app.
The auto-brightness on LG devices seems to work differently than on other Android devices. The brightness slider still has an effect when auto-brightness is checked. I don't know whether the value chosen with the slide acts a a max level or if it provides some kind of "base" for the auto-brightness algorithm to work from. But if the slider level is set low turning on auto-brightness won't make the screen as bright as it will be with the slider at a higher value and auto-brightness on.
Trickster is great if you have root

You could level the playing field with regards to the 8.3 's performance and put kit kat on it too.
There are some kinks that need ironing out but it's plenty stable to be used as my daily.
As to the colours. I haven't been affected on my tablet. I guess having only a 2012 N7 as a comparison is much more forgiving than against the 2013 N7

I love the LG G Pad GPE myself, but I had to return the first one I received. A yellow/orange line would appear on the side of the screen nearest the front-facing camera after 30 minutes of use. Here are a couple of images: http://imgur.com/a/3oDx0. A replacement will be delivered today. Hopefully I have more luck!

My display is pretty good. the auto-brightness is too dark but it is on every device I've ever used, so that's not really an issue for me.
Scrolling is as good or better than any Nexus 7 2013 model I've seen. I think the Ars and Verge reviews said basically the same thing. Also, the Nexus 7 is not a snapdragon 400. It's an S4 Pro. The specific S4 Pro in the Nexus 7 is a 1.5 ghz quad core krait 300 with a ddr3 memory controller instead of being a 1.7 ghz quad core krait 300 with a dual channel ddr2 memory controller in the Snapdragon 600 in the G pad. The difference is completely negligible.

This is not a useless iOS device, you can zoom any site you want, in Chrome and in the G Pad's stock browser: Settings-->Accessibility-->Enable force zoom on any site (more or less, translating from the Italian).
Most other browsers have a similar setting.

Hey, I WAS an apple fanboy. Since 1994. Couildn't wait for the iphone to get to my city. Ran right over and "up"graded. Having worked with Android for a couple of years by then it was obvious in a day and a half how awful the interface was. My new droid was in hand immediately and I have recruited iOS'ers since. Do you know most are not aware of the "direct call" widget we have that they don't? That's just the most obvious and ridiculous demonstration of where iOS has gone with their Gates'ian control of their ecosystem.
That said, thanks for the pointer. My difficulty is with google Newsstand. The magazines I read don't allow zoom.
But the LG is on its way back. And I am very happy with my choice.....

You're welcome and if you mean Google Play Magazine then if none of the 3 choices of font sizes are good for you the solution is Xposed + App Settings (so you can change the DPI for that app only).

I'll give it a try..... It may be the magazines themselves, because when I adjust the Newsstand font size nothing happens to them. There's also a general setting for font size. That didn't help either.
My Nexus is running Kit Kat (as was the G pad GPE). They've replaced Play Magazine with Newsstand........

Screen dimness compared to the N7 is a complaint of mine as well. Wish it was brighter throughout the range.
Also rooting in and of itself will do nothing to affect device performance and speed, it simply opens the door to allow to do software mods in the future that may improve speed. 1

It's not very useful on the regular G Pad, because it only supports a very small number of devices. I don't think it works at all on the GPE version, so far. If the IR capability is your main reason for buying the G Pad, better get another tablet. Or else get a Harmony Remote.

[Q] It cannot be that slow

Hello there, first time i write here but been reading a lot!
First, you need to know I own a galaxy s2 s3 s4 (all rooted) and my good friend has a note 3.
Also played a lot with nexus10 and the first galaxy note 10.1
I waited so long to buy the "perfect" tablet. Ipad is out of question even tho we know they are awesome tablet, i am a system administrator and i need Android.
So when i heard about the new note 10.1 2014, i was very existed because i REALLY like my s4 and my friend's note 3.
And i thought the s pen was awesome for a tablet (seeing my kid having fun drawing on their own picture is a +).
Well i convicted my girlfriend we need this, i started reading a lot of reviews and decided to buy because reviews are all saying the tablet was the best to compete vs the ipad.
I bought it brand new on eBay because there was no place i can buy it in Canada.
As soon as i received it, i found it run so damn slow. .. WAY slower than my s4.
I can live with the short battery life, that's not a big deal even tho the 2x quad core was supposed to help that (running on 1.3 while on hold to save battery).
Looks like it is always running on that 1.3ghz cpu now.
I did a factory default reset. .. Then a hard reset, nothing helped.
Runs great Sometimes, but sometimes I am note even able to browse picture on the default gallery. Still no apps installed! !!
My friend with the note 3 came here last night and was amazed to see how the screen has a bad responds to finger but very good with the pen. Also how it freezes and lags.
Now... is it only MY galaxy note ?
Should i send it to Samsung and hope it is going to be OK when i receive it back ?
Is it normal and should be all fixed with kit kat update ?
Or normal... They missed it so i should just throw it away ? If so... What else should i get ?
I very like the aspect. The home/menu/back buttons, the o/s (touch wiz), the nexus 10 was not that great even with kit kat, but runs so much faster.
I don't know what to do, i want a tablet with the s pen, but the hold note 3 is running smoother than my 2014 edition! !!
I guess i need help here !
And as i bought the item from usa eBay, I'll have to pay for the shipping to Samsung if i send them my tablet for repair !
Thank you very much for your help and advice !

It all seams to be random. .. Now the gallery works perfectly.
Really looks to be a problem switching from a cpu to the other and stays on the 1.3
Right now, while typing this, i got an error saying the gallery has stopped working! !
Any idea which benchmark i should use ?
See attached is the print screen of a benchmark. .. Perfect score, exactly what i was expecting from this tablet.
But it definitively does not feel like it!

I have no problems with the gallery app. Before I bought the Note, I had the Xperia Tablet Z for a short time and it was much slower in the Gallery app. My JPEGs usually are about 10 MByte each and browsing hundreds of them works very well on the Note.
Where do i find the firmware ?
Model Number is sm-p600
Android 4.3
Kernel 3.4.39-204073
version jss15j.p600ueubmk1

You are on MK1 which is the latest in US as far as I'm aware.

You have the current firmware, so that is not the issue. It is possible that you have a corrupted file somewhere that is causing a problem for an app.
To check this:
- Do have an SD card installed? If so, do the problems go away if you remove the card? I've seen cases (although, on earlier galaxy devices, not this one) where a corrupt jpeg file causes the gallery app to run constantly, slowing everything else down.
- You said it is always running at 1.3ghz. That could indicate a problem with an app running all the time in the background and slowing things down. When you are not using it for a while (e.g., at night) the CPU should slow down to deep sleep. If that is not happening and you want to figure which app running and keeping it at 1.3, trying downloading an app called BetterBatteryStats. It will show (after a bit of a learning curve) the CPU time for all your running apps.

Thank you for your answer.
No sd card yet and i do not think i will need any. I have enough on my s4
I found the system slow so i did a factory reset from the menus.
It was still slow after so i did a hard reset.
If it is a corrupted file. .. That file is in the core files because the hard reset would have wipe it !
But it makes sense tho since the problem is random.
But every thing should be as smooth as the s4 and the note 3 ?
Not because it had a bigger screen. ..i should feel a little lag switching from photos to photos (or windows to windows) ?

The bigger display area will make a difference. The N3 has a PPI of 386 and a 5.7" display. The N10.1-14 has a PPI of 299 and a 10.1" display. I'm too lazy to compute the actual display area but the N10.1-14's CPU/GPU is pushing at least 40% more pixels to the display.

The N3's much faster at transitions and app opening/closing than the N10.1-14. If you pinch-zoom to display all your home pages on the N3 it's fast; on the N10.1-14 not so much. I find that within apps the N10.1-14's fine and its performance reflects the high-end h/w. It'll stutter occasionally during a transition or in opening/closing apps but it's still plenty fast; at least to me. Hopefully performance will improve when we get 4.4/M-UX because the CES display units were impressively fast at pinch zooming and transitions.
Samsung's Gallery app has always had occasional indexing problems; especially with large numbers of photos and when cloud services are displayed in the Gallery. The next time it happens turn off Wi-Fi. It should instantly start responding normally. Once the indexing service has caught up the Gallery should be fine (until it indexes again).

True, the N3 is a war machine !
But compared to my S4 then, it should at least be as fast !
I really like my S4, decent speed, never crashes.
Only holding the screen between 2 photos is lagging on the 10.1-14 !
But this is not my concern, the real problem is when it decides to run slower then my hold S2 !
And compared to the first gen 10.1, beside the interface which is way better on the 10.1-14, the speed seams faster on the old one and the touch screen works better with fingers too !

It is what it is my friend. You're running the latest U.S. s/w so unless you're having a h/w issue (doubtful) than the performance you're getting is the performance you're going to get. At least until updates hopefully speed of fluidity. The Tab/Note|Pro's running 4.4/M-UX appear significantly faster than the N10.1-14 and use the exact same h/w so the occasional lag we're seeing is curable with s/w.
Hopefully yes.
Is there any software I can install to see which CPU is running ?
Because when it runs great, I m happy with the little lag... not a big problem
But when it decides to stop, them everything is slow.
I see no updates running, if I empty the ram, it is still using 2.05 out of 3 ! ( I have 2 users)
Even switching from users to the other is slower then what I see on youtube (People showing that fonctionnality).
and WAAAY slower that the old nexus 10 I used.
Maybe the switching from 1 processor to the other is not perfect and gives problem a lot ...
Root and freeze or install all the bloat ware Inc my magazine. Download greenify and hibernate running apps, in developer options turn the animations to 0.5. Or try nova launcher too

Not sure i understood it all. . But I'll try to decrypt.
I don't want to root it right now as I'm not sure i will keep it !!!
I know Nova launcher and was about to give it a try when i figured out the problem was not only the home screen. ..
Is it normal to be running almost all the time at 2.3gb out of 3 ?
I close all the apps on the 2 users, clear the ram and still running at 2.3-2.4gb
I only saw it once at 1.7!

Yeah that sounds about right. You can go to settings > apps. >all. And click on the apps u don't use or u think could be running in the background and disable them. Also the less screen pages and widgets you have running the better. I'd recommend an app called clean master. It will clean your device. Before I rooted my ram was that hight but after rooting it can as low as 1.2. Generally on 1.5. And rarely goes over 2. Hope this helps

Se this morning it was at 1.9 Gb used out of 3 ! (2,71 in fact)
I have 3 apps opened now (facebook messenger, VLC et My Magazine) and I m using 2.54 ..... I think it s weird !
I only have 5 apps installed on it.
Also, I use swype to type text (slide my fingers through the keyboard) and sometimes it just doesn't work. I start sliding and it's like it cannot see my finger anymore. Works better with the pen again. Like I said previously, like it the screen has hard time to detect my finger on the screen.
Again, sometimes .. not always !
I think I m gonna see how much it will cost me to send it back to samsung and have it repaired .. I don't think all this is normal.
A lot of people say they bought tablets for 150$ and they works perfectly.
Yes mine does multi user, but at 150 I could have bought 4 of 'em + a lot of accessories !

Don't confuse "apps" with "processes" and "services." Because of all Samsung's "stuff" (EG: Multi View, S Pen) there are a gazillion open processes running in the background anticipating being needed. If you go in to Task Manager and "clear RAM" you'll see 40-50 processes being closed. You really needn't worry about it because Android dynamically manages memory and if something in the foreground needs memory it'll prioritize what to close in the background. Also, Mali reserves probably 500MB for itself at all times so you never really had 3GB of RAM truly available. Samsung, not being a benevolent company, included 3GB of RAM in the N3 and N10.1-14 for a reason.
In other words, if you're having some type of performance issue it's highly doubtful it's being caused by RAM starvation.
Of course the ram is not the problem... even if there is only 300 mo free, that s enough to manage the program I run.
But I really hate when I cannot swipe to type, when the gallery is so buggy that I cannot browse my pictures ( 10 photos max... not linked with Dropbox or facebook), when I have to wait for the next page in the apps page, when I try to slide the page and it just doesn't t work.. have to do it twice or trice ... When I want to slide down the notifications but I have to try 3-5-6 or 7 times...
Switching pages in the S note take times...sometimes lag but that is not a problem for me... All the others tho really makes me feel like either that tablet is a crap or mine has a problem .
I would sincerely prefere the second
When it s not buggy it works great... but sooooo unstable

Apps not showing in Tablet Mode?

I'm running the N preview, so I'm not sure if it's something to do with that, since I really didn't play around with it much on stock.
Anyways, I've noticed most apps that ran in tablet mode on my Nexus 10 are just plain stretched out phone apps now. What gives??
For example, Gmail, which was a fantastic example of a tablet optimized app, is now running just one pane. It looks stupid. Plume only has 2 panes instead of 3, which isn't bad, but still, lots of wasted space.
Is there a setting I'm missing somewhere?
I just noticed the same thing happening to me. They use to load in tablet mode, now they aren't Edit: it's a bug with multi window, even when you arent using it. To get tablet UI back I had to go into multi window, and then maximize my right side pane to full size. Now all apps are working again.
i went to post the bug in Android Issue tracker, but it's already there. it's caused by apps that make the tablet change orientations, and it looks like google is already on it.

Android 10 Lag on Note 10+ Snapdragon

Originally posted on Samsung members. This issue is now critical. If you care about this issue, I have created an issue under Samsung Members. Please post your experience and issues there and hopefully it gets the attention of Samsung
https://r1.community.samsung.com/t5/Galaxy-Note/Android-10-Lag-on-Note10/td-p/3320184
Has anyone else seen noticeable Lag after updating to Android 10 in the galaxy s10 or Note10+.
Using the samsung launcher, there is lag when scrolling through the app drawer and multitasking.
I have tried,*
cleaning my dalvik cache
Removing my SD card
Updating all apps for android 10
And performing the built in device care optimization*
I think a performance update is needed to take care of this.
The multitasking lag becomes worse during the day until phone is restarted.*
Update 31012020: I finally decided to factory reset my phone. This did not work. I use nova launcher and uninstalled it as well. Lag still remains.
I have found that the lag only appears after about 20+ apps are in the recent apps menu. However this issue did not happen in Android 9. What is also interesting my moms s10 exhibits the same behaviour.
Further I have gone into developer options and when I set Animator level from 1x to 0x, the lag is gone. This is the only solution. However the downside to this is that instead of animations of loading wheels or progress bars, there is just a static circular arrow. I hope Samsunf fixes this issue.
Have had zero lag since updating to android 10. Never had any lag on pie either. Maybe its just an issue with your phone
I had alot of lag, everything lagged actually. The latest TMobile update fixed it for me.
I have had lag. Just opening simple apps like what's app and trying to start typing.
I have the very same issue on my Exynos Note 10. After the Android 10 update, app launcher and app switcher lag like it's 2006.
Lag in Note 10 +
Hi, just updated to 10 and it's really poor. Lag everywhere. Mostly between apps pages. But mostly everywhere. I'm in NZ with Spark Network. Personally feel this has to be fixed with an update.

Had exactly the same issue on my note 10+ (exynos).. after complaining about the issue I saw a post that mentioned that some apps with the permission to display on top was the culprit. In my case, after disabling this permission of dashlane it fixed the problem. Are you using dashlane?

Hey,
I am using lastpass, which does require the appear on top permission.
Solution:
update 04022020. I finally got rid of the lag. I installed the Samsung Goodlock app from the Galaxy app store and installed the task changer plugin. I then set my task manager to be displayed as a grid. but you can change it to any style.
the Goodlock app and plugin are designed by Samsung. this leads me to believe there is something wrong with the stock animation in the app switcher.
Good fix for task switcher, but it doesn't solve the app pages speed issue. Samsung need to release a fix
---------- Post added at 08:41 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:32 AM ----------
Solved it ! for me, it's definitely 3rd party apps that run in the background. Check your permissions and what has accesses to your phone. For me a block site app that has accessablility access was the culprit.
Spamsung, up to his old tricks, got a nope10 rooted up and have been good, except for all the other spammy DOWNGRADES( samFAIL needs somthing to fkeep you coming back for a new fix) what a twisted guy!
As the sob story goes, if anyone cares to hear the drama from spammy's momma lol
Been on Android 9 and staying, unless spammy forces his spam on me?
So can't search for this problem with Android 9 because everything shows up as note 10 upgrade Android 10, of course when trying to -Android10 it also takes away anything for nope10 results ? so for the past couple hours feels like I am back using my old HTC 4g( that's what I all an upgrade!!) I didn't do anything new just reset the phone because battery ran out, so much lag now ?
Treid changing animation from 1x to none
did not work
Update :
So this happened for a couple days and without any making changes, now today without making any changes everything is back to normal. So my guess is that because of the virus spammy let's the powers that be get inside your phone and spied on creating all this lag, it actually took me initially 7 minutes to type the first part of this message because the lag was so bad.
This is spamsung at his best!
#spamsung for the inside scoop?
I used to have this issue on a nope 8, and I noticed whenever it happened when I had more than say 30+forefox pages open, but now it's happening in the note 10+ saying that ram is using 7.5gb lol
And when in i used a task manager it would show - 1million kb boost to stop apps running and forefox had all that negitve - 1million + kb's on it but now it's showing Firefox with only 189mb but the boost is still at 1m+ lol
I don't know what anybody's talking about with lag this thing's a beast! Try beast mode kernel too little bit of battery loss but **** it who cares it's so damn snappy I can't see straight when I'm playing with my phone
Odd, odd, I have never, ever experienced anything of the sort in any of my samsung devices, since the S3, I currently own a note 10+ running android 10, it behaves exactly as day one, so, the cause must be something not related to official firmwares issued by samsung
Which apps are lagging?
Could scope storage be the culprit?
I'm still on Pie and it remains very fast and rock solid stable phone.
There's a lot I don't like about 10 and 11.
Funny Google is preaching security with their OS "improvements" when Goggle is one of the worst data miners there is.
