Greyscale issue - cannot change back to color - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

Ok, this is VERY irritating!!! I set my phone on my wireless charger before going to bed last night, woke up this morning and my phone screen has turned to Greyscale. Battery is at 100%.
1st things 1st - My phone is not in Power Saving Mode, nor is it in Ultra Power Saving Mode. Also...... I have already gone to Settings-->Accessibility-->Direct Access-->Greyscale (off).
I have tried toggling all of the above settings (I also have never ever used any power saving/greyscale mode to begin with). I have even tried switching themes, even reverting back to the default original theme that came with the S6. Nothing seems to work.
If I power off or reboot my phone, the boot screen is in color as well as my phone briefly is in color again while android is initiating the phone. After about 40 seconds, the phone turns to Greyscale again.
Has anyone else experienced this or have any other suggestions for me to try?
I am using a stock T-Mobile unrooted phone.

Ok, fixed! There is another "Greyscale" option under Accessibility for Vision, I turned Greyscale off. puzzled as to how that got switched on by itself but at least I know now.

Yes! The accessibility worked for me as well. I had to go to settings-->vision--> color adjustment. Then I had to drag colors in order from like this blue to brown to pink to purple. Thank you for suggesting vision! I was so irritated of the grayscale screen!!! I am guessing that it probably did that due to me ALWAYS going in and out of ultra battery saving mode (just my hypothesis--I might be wrong).

BUG: screen lock does not kick in

first i thought it was launcher pro's fault, but after changing launcher and rom release i'm pretty sure it's something else i haven't tracked down yet.
just after a reboot phone works as usual: screen lock runs after 30 seconds or by clicking the power button
after a while (days or even hours sometimes), the screen lock does not kick-in anymore: the screen just turns off and when you press the power button the phone is already unlocked.
i noticed that when the phone is in this "lock-bug" mode the notification led constantly shows a faint red light (you can barely notice it in the dark because it's really faint).
tested with:
launcher pro
go launcher
factory rom 2.21
blurless 2.34
I used to have the faint red light on after flashing a new rom.
It disapeared after I changed display setting to not automatic brightness.
It seems that the faint red light is the light sensor.
But I know nothing about your screen lock problem.
I have run into the same thing. I have not yet noticed the light, but I've had the screen lock stop working on my phone twice (I bought 3 phones 5 days ago for work). Like you, a simple reboot fixed the problem. I also tried toggling screen lock in the settings, and setting up a lock code, to see if the screen lock would start up. Both of my times, the first I noticed the issue was when I received a phone call and didn't have to swipe to answer, but that could have just been coincidence.
It isn't really a big deal for me or the employees, but it is a nuisance.
Happened to me as well, twice. First time it was just annoying that I had to reboot, second time it drained the s**t out of my battery in three hours.
So it's a bug allright.

same here.. it just stops working.. any fixes yet?

[Q] HTC switches off and screen brightness not working

Hello,
Yesterday when I was done working and got my phone from my locker, I opened an app and immediately
the screen went black and appearantly the phone had switched itself off. I turned it back on wondering why
it did this, but as soon as it had started up and the home screen appeared, it turned itself right back off.
I tried turning it back on about 7 or 8 times until the battery ran out and I could not try anymore.
When I got home I put it on the charger and fortunately the phone stayed on, however the top of the screen
seemed to be 'trembling' a bit and some pixels were changing from light red to dark red to light red etc. (my home screen is red)
I decided to leave it charging overnight and when I woke up, the trembling had disappeared. I took it off the
charger and after scrolling through my Facebook news feed, found that battery percentage was decreasing quite
quickly considering it's on power saver mode. I thought it might be that the screen brightness is too high, so I went
to settings and tried to adjust the screen brightness, however it is not responding? My screen brightness stays
exactly the same no matter whether I increase or decrease it, and when I was doing that the phone switched itself
off again. I put it back on charge now and turned it back on, but I am quite annoyed about this issue because I
do not know what it is and my phone is only 5 months old. I hope any of you can shed some light on the situation.
Summary of the issues:
- Phone switching itself off
- Screen trembled yesterday
- Battery decreasing quickly
- Brightness setting not working
Info about the phone:
- HTC One X 5 months old
- Android 4.2.2
- No adjustments made to the phone with rooting or any of that
Thanks!
Must be a hardware failure if you havent changed anything software-wise
Is it overheating?
Is it under warranty?
And other sensors are working? But like TTG TriCkSh0tZz said , use your warranty if you can.

Notification light not working

I have a stock Note 4, never been rooted. When I used to plug in the charger, the notification light would light up red with the screen off, and if I had notifications it would blink blue.
Today it stopped doing that. I tried restarting and removing the battery, same thing. The only time the light will come on is if I restart my phone, it turns blue for a little bit, but notifications nor a power cable plugged in will trigger it.
Phone is less than a month old, I don't have the TEP on it, would Sprint replace it with a refurb model if they're unable to fix it?
edit: I found a way around it by going to accessibility > notification reminder > and turning on LED indicator, when I turn it on though it warns me that using this feature disables the charging notification. I guess it’s better than having no notification light at all.
edit2: there's another option under settings > display and wallpaper > LED indicator. for some reason that was unchecked. turned it on and everything is back to normal.

Thank you!! I had the exact same problem and the "edit2" solution solved it perfectly. :highfive:
Has a proper fix been found for this yet? I have a Samsung Note 4 that was just updated to Android 5.1.1 and the LED notification stopped working. I have gone through all of the settings that effect it, but nothing works. I am not interested in a work around. I am only interested in having my phone function as it is supposed to.

Make the screen turn off or the screen saver turn on?

Hello,
I finally updated my HTC One S to the Samsung S9 running version 8.0 of Android
I have found that for some reason, the phone needs to tell me the battery is charged by turning the screen on, and the screen does not turn back off again. I searched here and tried the Googles and seems like that is something Android started doing after my old phone so I cannot find a setting. It also appears via the Googles that there is no setting? Is this correct?
I would like to either make it so notifications do not turn on the screen or that the screen will turn itself back off.
I would be satisfied to have the screen saver turn on while on the charger. I have it set to after 5 minutes but it has never turned on.
If some one could help me with either or both my problems, I would greatly appreciate it. I really don't like that the screen turns on when I plug the charger in, but I can live with it if it turned off.
Thanks
EDIT I would like to add that I have all my AOD stuff turned off.

Since it has been about 6 years since I set my last phone up, I completely forgot about Developer Options.
I unlocked D O and found a setting in there to leave the screen off while charging. I think....I figured out the problem.
I can't believe I forgot about D O :silly:
I still have not figured out the screen saver but I no longer am real concerned about it. I would like to know how to turn off the notification that the battery is charged.
Anyhow, if anyone does not know how to get to the Dev Options on Oreo, it is:
Open Settings
Select System ---> About phone.
Scroll down and tap seven times on the Build number entry.
EDIT. The setting fixed the screen saver issue as well as keeping the screen off

Disable night mode

Hello, i have a problem
Google play books suggested to enable night mode, and took me to the settings to activate night mode.
I did it, but now i want to disable it.
The problem is that it was android night mode, not samsung's blue light mode that changed.
So i can't access the android settings to disable night mode, anyone knows how i can disable it?

Help!
I bought the Samsung Galaxy s9+ when it first came out. Ever since, I've had a yellow tint issue with it. When I unlock my phone, it will be yellow in a corner then as soon as I touch the screen, the whole thing turns yellow. When the system updates come out, it's fixed until my battery dies or the phone is powered off. As soon as I turn it back on, then yellow tint crap happens again.
I have tried restarting, booting into safe mode, wipeing the catches, turning blue light filter on and off, turning auto brightness off, messing with the colors.... nothing ive tried works except for a system update which is really inconvenient when there isn't a new update available. What else can I do? Also, I don't have Google play books installed.
