[Q] Smart Unlock & Trusted Voice Feature Issues - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey everyone, I am wondering if anybody has tried out the trusted voice feature of google now? I'm trying to get this working. I have an LG G4, running the latest OS and patches as of 6/19. The end goal is that I want to say "Ok Google" from a completely locked and shut off screen, and have it wake up the phone and accept a command. Ideally, I would like to be able to wake the phone up and have it accept commands from a dark screen, even without a lock screen in place, but I'm not sure that's even possible. I want to do this so I can do some voice controls while i'm in the car, without having to interact with the phone and unlock it every 30 seconds.
Here is what I have setup:
1 - Settings - Lock Screen - Select a screen lock - Created a PIN
2 - Settings - Lock Screen - Smart Lock - Trusted Voice change to On
3 - Google Settings - "Ok Google" detection - From the google app/From any screen/Trusted voice all turned On
The end result is that if the screen is locked but lit up, I can say Ok Google and it will accept a command. However, if the screen is dark, it does not respond at all. Has anyone else tested the trusted voice feature, and is this expected behavior? I did a search but haven't come up with anything. Thanks in advance for any help.

I use that but it will only unlock from off if charging.

[Q] Power button, Bluetooth, & lock screen

New GSIII user (just got it for Black Friday). 2 questions relating to the lock screen.
1. I read another post sort of related to this, but not really (almost the opposite in fact, he wanted the pattern or pin lock but had other issues). So, I have my lock screen set to unlock with only the swipe. Why are none of the advanced lock screen options available unless you choose a more stringent unlock option (like pattern or PIN)? Even with just plain swipe, I want a delayed lock after the screen shuts off, and and I want to st DISABLE the instant lock with the power button. Is there any way to do this without having to set a more stringent unlock method? And if not, what possible reason would the designers have for now allowing those other options without using a higher unlock method?
2. Not sure if this due to the lock screen, or a bug with Bluetooth, or a combination of both. I actually tried playing with a pattern unlock screen, but when I have that enabled I can't do Bluetooth voice dialing. I press the Bluetooth headset offhook button, and the phone wakes up, but then it just sits at the pattern unlock screeen and won't respond to voice until I unlock the pattern. But if I revert to just a plain swipe unlock, then the Bluetooth voice dialing works just fine (I press the headset button, phone wakes up AND listens for voice). Bluetooth voice dialing is a CRITICAL function for me.
Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you!
I got hold of a Samsung tech via live chat on their web site and he confirmed that this is how it it works. I suggested these were poor design decisions and asked they pass along my request to ask that these be changed in a future update (of course, no gurantee that there will even be a future update, but I can hope).

Smart Unlock - Trusted Devices not working

I can't get Smart Unlock - Trusted Devices to work on my new GS9.
I have my lock screen set to: PIN, Fingerprints
I have my car stereo added to Trusted devices
In Secure Lock Settings it's set to: Lock the phone 30 seconds after the screen turns off automatically, except when kept unlocked by Smart Lock.
I've attached a couple of screenshots of unlocking it when connected to my car stereo, I don't understand why the first capture says "Phone unlocked by Smart Lock" but when I tap that it tells me to use PIN or Fingerprint.
Does anyone else have this problem?
Anyone have a suggestion to fix?
i have this issue with my Fitbit, my Fitbit is on my wrist at all times but when it comes to unlock the phone i need my PIN or biometrics, when i look in the trusted devices it indicates 'not connected' so i just assume the connection drops when i walk away from my phone and does not regain this connection every time i move near it again.
No idea why, but Smart Lock has all of a sudden started working as expected.
Could I get some more feedback about smart lock feature on S9 ?
I am on the fence for a purchase and would be very interested to use my Xiaomi Mi Band as "trusted device" to be able to unlock the phone with a simple press of the 'virtual' home button, whilst keeping the device secured when I'm not near.

Any Tasker plugin to skip lock screen and go to home screen

Currently I have double tap to wake with Smart lock enabled. Unfortunately it takes me to lock screen and I have to swipe to go to home screen. Is there any Tasker plugin or any other way to go to home screen instead of lock screen on double tap? I have tried Tasker with my limited knowledge, but couldn't achieve it...
Update: Achieved with Tasker
Try AutoInput

Can we not achieve that in Tasker without AutoInput?

To be completely honest I'm not too sure since I don't use the feature myself. I did see it somewhere in that plugin though, which is why I recommended it.

Thanks, will try that
I have the same problem / need. I use smartlock based on android wear watch paired with my galaxy S9, which means I never have to enter my pin, but for some silly reason whenever I wake up the phone using tasker I still can't get past the slide to unlock.
My current workaround which meets my immediate needs (maybe not yours).... on my phone which I carry in a holster on my hip is to use fingerprint sensor to manually unlock while the phone is in the holster. I also have a tasker task to vibrate upon unlock (bypasses slide to unlock) which gives feedback when I'm successful. Surprisingly, fingerprint sensor doesn't care which way you rotate your finger on the sensor - it still recognizes it.
After I unlock the phone I initiate actions from my smartwatch - things like initiating google voice search in a way that preserves my preferred note to self behavior (goes to google keep including transcript and recording... doesn't work if you start google voice search by saying ok google)

Can you explain step by step please?
Just install AutoInput from playstore (it's not free), it has an option to unlock the screen automatically if you have FaceUnlock enabled.

Help with X2 and Google Voice

Just got an X2 and I'm having trouble getting Google Voice to ring when the phone is locked. I've tried everything I could think of including notification settings and power saving stuff but no matter what I do it will not ring when the screen is locked. It will wake the device and prompt me to unlock but it doesn't ring, vibrate, or notify me in any way that I'm getting a call.
Google hangouts dialer partially fixes the issue. It will use your google voice number and ring/vibrate through the lock screen but you still can't answer a call without unlocking.

Question Google Assistant not listening when screen is off on Xiaomi EU !

So, on the official rom 12.5.1. I was able to wake Google Assistant when the screen is off. But now that I'm on Xiaomi EU. That doesn't seem to work anymore.
Is there a way to make it work ?
PS: I'm on Xiaomi eu 12.5.4 (stable)
have you tried searching for 'assistant'? if it's available, choose Assistant settings/lock screen

I don't remember mentioning anything about Lock Screen!
I am talking about waking Google Assistant when THE SCREEN IS OFF.

You should enable "Unlock with Voice Match" in security setting. I'm not sure MIUI will allow this option.

"Unlock with Voice Match" applies to Lock Screen. I have no problem waking Google Assistant from Lock Screen.
I want to wake it when the Screen is off. Like when my phone is away and I just say "Ok Google" and it starts listening.
I have same problem too
I want to disable it instead! it bothers me that every time I talk to my google nest hub the phone also turns on and then gets stuck on the lock screen without going back to turning off and going to AOD ... how to do it?
