Just got a Zenfone 2 (ZE500CL). I've inserted a 32 gb card from my old Moto G. The storage is being shown on Settings>Storage but the contents are not shown in File Manager. Even not in Music apps. And there is no option to Format the card too. If I connect it to PC then only internal storage is shown. What to do?
Backup data, format on pc...
If PC doesn't recognise it means your sd card has died...
When formatting please use FAT32 format
Sincerely,

SD card
Make sure that the card is pushed all the way in. II had the same problem with a 64g card. It takes a little force to seat it all the way in. See picture.

I think I made a fatal error, I was putting some files onto the card, completely forgot I left it in the computer memory card port and then went on to install vista and xp which might have done this i'm not sure.
Any way to reverse what happened.
It was a 1gb now it's 10mb in the properties.

I'm guessing by your response it's impossible to retrieve my data?
If there's no way to retrieve what I had i'll do that and give it away cause I bought a bigger one.
I had exactly your problem, and the only solution i found it a format with GParted.
Under windows my sd way no more readable, while under linux i had strange files as in your screenshot.
After a format now everything works well.
I'm trying to copy files, to my SD card via USB storage, and as soon as a couple of minutes go by, the transferring just stops. Doesn't matter what I try to copy (music album, game data, ROM, etc.), same result. Also tried different USB ports and same thing happens. Not sure if I make any sense, so I hope these pictures can help.

After (notice the "free space" details disappear and now says FAT32)
If it helps, I'm using a Samsung Epic 4G running CM 10.1 (4.2.2), SanDisk Ultra 16GB microSDHC Class 10.
Tried another cable?
I own an H818P which came with MM 6.0 installed, I downgraded it to 5.1 and then rooted it. The root process is successful but my SD Card has stopped working on this phone. When I insert the card, it shows that "SD Card is blank or has unsupported file system" but the card is working fine on my PC or other phones.

Plug the sd card into your pc and backup anything that is important then use an sd card formatter and format to fat32 , it worked perfectly for me.
If i have helped then please leave a thumbs up.
I've bought a 128Gb microSd card (Sandisk).

It works perfect in my MTCD_KD unit. The user manual of my android unit (5.1.1) says it can works with SD cards up to 32Gb, but i've tried and i'm so happy with thousands of mp3 and movies.
This post is only for your info, if you ever asked if it can works with a bigger microSD than 32Gb.
fyi:
I guess most sdxc cards are formatted in exFat. I have a 64gb sdxc card which has been recognised by my MTCD unit but it didnt make use of it (system reported that I can safely remove the sdxc card now). I first had to format the sdxc card in settings > storage > format sd card. Then it worked flawlessly.
Hello, so I followed this guide and put new 64GB MicroSD card into phone, formatted is as internal storage, moved system onto it and unfortunately it doesn't seem to work as intended - free space is still few hundred MBs as it was before and I cannot install some bigger game because it shows there is not enough space :-\
It's MIUI 11.0.2

it shows system storage is 53.49GB, but some OS parts think it's not free. I can connect it to PC and I see there is almost 10GB in DCIM\Camera and this works fine in the gallery app.
