I am in the DR Congo and as resident computer geek it falls on me to fix things. Someone received an LG F6 but there is no display at any point. The navigation lights turn on, it beeps when connected to a computer, vibrates when connected to power and little tune during boot. But nothing at all on the screen. Ever. I have no info on what may have been done to it prior to being sent here. Can this be a software issue or only hardware? If software a possibility should I try a recovery download? Doing a hard boot recovery not likely as I can never see the screen to accept or reject the reset.
Linux does not see the phone. Windows acknowledges the existence but LG support tool and LGOSP do not connect.
Where to start knowing there is no repair man within thousands of miles?

I wanted to see if we can have MSND working here. I unzipped data.zip file and here is what I found (I'm using 480x800 - portrait mode):
1st of all you can enable MSND in your sys.txt file by adding this:
[msnd]
enabled=1
But most likely if you do that your iGo will start complaining about ico_findplace.bmp
Problem is that it is not there. You have to look at
ui_igo8\480_800\ui\start_480_800.ui
<layer ui_AdvMenuMsnd z=30>
<BUTTON xxx template=menu4_1 fxshowdelay=0 text="Find" iconspr="ico_findplace.bmp" onrelease='NEXTSTATE st_AdvFindMenu'>
<BUTTON btnAMM_Route template=menu4_2 fxshowdelay=5 text="Route" iconspr="ico_route.bmp" onrelease='NEXTSTATE st_AdvRouteMenu'>
<BUTTON xxx template=menu6_4 fxshowdelay=20 text="Manage" align="LEFT+70" iconspr="ico_mydata.bmp" onrelease='NEXTSTATE st_AdvMyDataMenu'>
<BUTTON btnAMM_Msnd template=menu6_5 fxshowdelay=15 text="MSN Direct" align="LEFT+70" iconspr="ico_msnd.bmp">
<BUTTON btnAMM_Msnd template=menu6_5 fxshowdelay=15 text="MSN Direct" align="LEFT+70" iconspr="ico_msnd.bmp">
<BUTTON xxx template=menu6_6 fxshowdelay=10 text="Settings" align="LEFT+70" iconspr="ico_settings.bmp" onrelease='vSettingsActPage.set 0, NEXTSTATE st_AdvSettingsMenu'>
<BUTTON xxx template=footer3_2 fxshowdelay=5 text="MSND Status">
<BUTTON btnAMM_MsndStatus template=footer3_2 fxshowdelay=5 text="MSND Status" onlongclick='run sc_show_btn_help "MSND Status"'>
<BUTTON xxx template=footer3_1 fxshowdelay=10 text="" iconspr="icof_map.bmp" iconalign="center" iconvalign="center+5" onlongclick='run sc_show_btn_help "Map"' onrelease='STATE st_NavigateMap'>
<BUTTON xxx template=footer3_3 fxshowdelay=20 text="Exit" onlongclick='run sc_show_btn_help "Exit"' onrelease='run sc_Exit' z=1 color=#ff0000 visiblemodel="interface.show_exit" nostress>
</layer>
You see all these *.bmp files mentioned here ? Copy them from ui_igo8\common
to ui_igo8\480_800\
Also in above <layer ui_AdvMenuMsnd z=30> section - change footer3_3 to footer3_2
because MSND and Exit seems to overwrite each other. Or something like that
Now if you zip all those files back to data.zip and copy back to your device - it will start w/o errors and "MSND Direct" button will apear on screen above "Settings"
But .. if you click that "MSND Direct" button it will complain about some "vMsndMainMenu" identifier Why is that ?
Because if you look inside ui_igo8\480_800\ui\main.ui you'll see those 2 lines:
;import "ui_igo8/480_800/ui/msnd_480_800.ui"
;import "ui_igo8/common/ui/msnd.ui"
which means that those file are NOT imported into system. BTW "vMsndMainMenu" identifier is in ui_igo8/common/ui/msnd.ui and ui_igo8/common/ui/start.ui
so I uncommented those ";" lines, zipped everything back to data.zip and put it on device. The result ?
I have memory exception And I do not know what to do with it. Got stuck.
It seems that MSND support is there, but it is commented out. Maybe some smart guy can take it from here
Ok heres a good one that the search does not return a good thread so here goes.
My DINC is running a pretty much stock 2.2 ROM, rooted, Clockwork, Flash fixed to run HULU and does a great job with everything else too. I have been running this ROM for quite a while and have done nothing really to it for months except for hanging the numbers in build.prop to make it stop nagging me for the update, which I did not want nor did I install. I have always been able to receive and send test messages with or without attachments, until about a week ago when someone sent me a text with a picture attached and all I got was "message failed to download" error that keeps popping up and dinging every few minutes. Today I got on this and starting trying thiongs to see what gives and found that if I try to send a text with a picture or attachment I get "message failed to send" and retry messages now every few minutes. Since I can send and receive from my other unit (TP2) I know that the servers are working. As long as I do not try to send or receive a text with anything attached all works well, but now this thing is dinging a dozen times every few minutes and like I said I have not changed anything or loaded up anything new lately, it just crapped out. Any ideas ????? Grazi ;-)
Still working on this, no luck yet
I just tried removing the stock Mms.apk and installing the vanilla and the results are the same except that when trying to send or receive a message with attachment it force closes. Help please .
Still working on it, latest
Ok I have put the stock MS back in and still get the same problems, but I started thinking and looked in settings and under the MMS connection settings the fields were all blank. i bet somthing goes there, anyone have those settings ??????/
FIXED
Ok have a look at the fix. I do not know how the APN got the [disabled] entries in there but it did.

Might want to remove your esn from the second post.
I'd say it has something to do with the esn date, they are probably having a staggered roll out

Hello and welcome to the forum.
First of all please provide some details:
Model number and software version of your phone.
Country you are living in. Which provider do you use? (Is it a branded phone?)
Which OS are you using (Win 7, 8, 10?)
Are you an advanced user?
Please check if you downloaded the right kdz for your phone.
Goto
Code:
http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/auth_model_check2.jsp?esn=IMEI
and enter your IMEI.
Your link will only work if you type:
csmgdl.lgmobile.com/dn/downloader.dev?fileKey=
and then add the rest of your url instead of the given link.
Hi guys
This URL doesn't work anymore with my G4 IMEI. It doesn't show any kdz. It was all right not long ago.
But it still works for the G2 or the G3. Any idea?
Did you got an error message?
Could you please post your response?
No error message, just no kdz to be found...
Here's the result with my UK G4:

Maybe they rollout Android M 6.0?
But that's off topic here.
The problem was "Stuck on LG Welcome Wizard".
The thread starter didn't answer.
We should leave this thread...

You have LG G3 D855 with the correct kdz file and also the latest version of Marshmallow.
(You want to reflash the firmware right?)
Yes, I am trying to reflash firmware. LG Flash tool 2014 crashes when trying to use D85530N_00_0816.kdz.
I am just trying to figure out what the correct TOT/dll files to use. I have tried using LGD855AT-V10e-EUR-32G.zip with LGFlashtool, but it gives "model information check fail"
