Has anyone gotten a warning from using ping pong root? Android just told me to get rid of it immediately. Lol. Weirdest thing. Never seen before.
That's what I used to root, haven't been warned yet anyway.
I see. Well I did remove the app not like I needed it anyways since I'm already rooted.
I recieved a warning too. It showed up after I rebooted from stock recovery.

Does ping pong root work on 5.1.1? I saw where one site after searching Google had rooted 5.1.1. Haven't tried it. It uses chain fire autoroot. Not sure if chain fire updated the file or not.

No it does not work. Chainfire hasn't come up with anything yet. We all just need to be patient for something to come up.

My New Galaxy Nexus is rooted and it was working fine, but not everything is being auto denied even the super user app. Any one seen this?
CR
Was it stock but rooted? Maybe you took an update?
Shell into it and see if you can su at all.
Yes it is stock but rooted. Does the 4.0.2 update break root?

Looks like it is broken. I will reboot and see if that fixes it.

Did you make sure the app is not on the approved list? Auto deny only works on apps that have not been set for approval. Let us know what happened. I'm curious which application appears to be bypassing it.

Yep, pretty sure it does break it. I saw posts on another forum about similar problems. Just root it again through recovery.
So I am in the middle of rerooting but it is still sitting at the google screen. Lets hope this is the fix that we needed.

So the re-root helped. I guess the update to 4.0.2 breaks root. I thought it was fine. Hmm.. Not to everyone i guess.
Hi,
I have just installed the Virgin Media TV Anywhere App on my rooted N2, it states you can't stream media on rooted devices does anyone know how I could possibly by pass this?
thanks
Yep. Unroot your phone.
I would say your best bet is to search the forum for s thread regarding the sky go app.
In there there's lots of suggestions on how to circumnavigate this non rooted phone requirement.
Hope you succeed

Do you mind uploading the app or giving a download link I can't find the app anywhere. I'm sure there will be an xposed module that will bypass the root check

Virgin's TV Anywhere app is at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.virginmedia.tvanywhere
I would like a version that lets me run it on a rooted device too. I don't plan to lose essential functionality such as ClockworkMod backups just for the sake of watching Virgin TV (TV Catchup does most of what I want anyway) but it'd be nice to have the option.
Andre
I'm the same would like to have the functionality of virgin TV anywhere but not at the expense of non rooted. The TV remote bit works nicely but not that bothered about that. It feels like virgin half assed this app doesnt work on KitKat either but the remote part does???
Hope someone can solve this cheers guys
If its anything like Sky Go its not going to be easy
Any solutions found to this? Have tried uninstalling SuperSU and re-installing the Virgin app but it seems to remember my device is rooted and blank out the Watch button. How would I go about clearing all memory of the Virgin app?
Thanks!
i found a way to do it! method is easy... it is working... pm for details... that is confirmed streaming channels using tv anywhere on rooted device...

You could try root cloak. It works on a lot of apps

Just to confirm, this works with Xposed framework & Root Cloak now. Just remember to remove it from SuperUser app permissions if you inadvertently clicked OK whilst tinkering.
Still not working on KitKat phones it seems

Yep hopefully the rootcloak dev can get this working
I was hoping this would work with TV Anywhere....but unfortunately I don't seem to be able to get it working... http://www.androidpolice.com/2014/0...e-to-keep-even-more-apps-from-detecting-root/

I'm having the same issue. I've got Root Cloak installed and reinstalled Virgin TV Anywhere and am having no luck!

Once you've installed what you need to, try clearing the Virgin app's data, and then your phone's Data Chache and Dalvik, and see if that helps.

I'm so desperate to root my g3 but I bank with Barclay's and the app doesn't work on rooted devices. So frustrating. Has anyone found a workaround ? I known things like root cloak don't work with it.

Root your device and use Xposed module RootCloak.
Had the same problem with one of my apps.
Problem solved.

why do you need an app for banking ? that's a big security hole in your phone.

Have you confirmed that the app is broken by root? The RBS Android app stopped working when I installed it on my G3 (it worked on my rooted HTC One X+). RBS confirmed that the app is broken on some devices, rooted or not.

I can confirm
It may not be possible. Root cloak methods dont seem to work for this or SkyGo, even unrooting doesn't work for some apps, you need to reflash to stock completely.
Unrooting and deleting SuperSu works on Samsungs
Has anybody checked on lg g3?
Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk
root your phone install whatever you want tweaks etc then unroot it and install the barclays app...
It's not so simple. Adblock will be working but Xposed not. Not sure about Barclays app, I can't test it because if it won't work you need to reinstall your rom... Time consuming
Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk
Ok I did it. I rooted the phone, installed adblock, froze some apps in Titanium etc, Barclays of course didn't work.
Then fully unroot from SuperSu, restart and Barclays works!
Thank god.
Will ota work?

This is the best answer I have seen. Barclays, in general, has a stick up their collective asses regarding hacked phones. Switch to a bank that doesn't care what you do with your phone.
So I've been looking and so far no root available, unless I missed it somehow but does anyone know of a way to install an ad blocker on this?

Get #NoChromo: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-nochromo-wild-browser-appears-t3130776
Try nochromo for ad free browsing from this thread while waiting for root
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/themes-apps/nochromo-t3134436
Adguard is another app, though the free version doesn't offer much, no root needed.

I wouldn't use adguard as I'm not a fan of going through someone else's proxy service showing them what I browse/where I go on my phone.
without root, nochromo would be your best bet, as suggest above by @pcoulson. if you're looking to block ads within apps, I would root and use something like adaway.
I have kingroot on my firestick, I rooted with 4.1 & some have had issues with the app Only working for around 20mins then blanking off or cutting out on Kodi? I have been quite lucky with mine & normally only have it doing that once then no more problems while using Kodi to watch things. When using Kingroot it likes to callback to home as many users know, which could be causing the issues during using Kodi while rooted with Kingroot on Fire Tv? But I was wondering I have an app called APK Permission Remover so I had a look at the Kingroot app & saw that in one of the permissions it says activity called? Could this maybe fix the issues I think it maybe worth a try? What does anyone think about this?
I've included the screen shot of the permissions on the latest version of Kingroot
To be honest I'm not sure if this will or would work? I tested using the facebook app & once you have already installed the app you must uninstall first then reinstall the app that you have modded.... But I don't know if you would have issues when it uninstalls? or when the modded app gets installed because I'm sure that kingroot gets the root from home (via the Internet connection) & I'm sure it would fail to root then? I maybe wrong but I'm not sure if this would be possible? If anyone has a theory on this or knows a little more who these two apps work maybe they could shed some light or hope into this matter?
No. APK permission removers do not remove root permission which is how Kingroot is "calling back". Just delete KingRoot for now once you block OTAs or block the callback at the router level (might not help with the cutting out Kodi).
Just install supersu and get rid of kingroot.

Mate this don't work.... so many people in this forum have bricked after their first reboot after doing this using super sume app so I don't think a simple install su then uninstail kingroot would work.
