SuperUser Auto Deny - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

My New Galaxy Nexus is rooted and it was working fine, but not everything is being auto denied even the super user app. Any one seen this?
CR

Was it stock but rooted? Maybe you took an update?
Shell into it and see if you can su at all.

Yes it is stock but rooted. Does the 4.0.2 update break root?

Looks like it is broken. I will reboot and see if that fixes it.

Did you make sure the app is not on the approved list? Auto deny only works on apps that have not been set for approval. Let us know what happened. I'm curious which application appears to be bypassing it.

Yep, pretty sure it does break it. I saw posts on another forum about similar problems. Just root it again through recovery.

So I am in the middle of rerooting but it is still sitting at the google screen. Lets hope this is the fix that we needed.

So the re-root helped. I guess the update to 4.0.2 breaks root. I thought it was fine. Hmm.. Not to everyone i guess.

HBOGO and MAXGO updated

New versions in the market for us. Uninstall old version first. It asks for SU but works if you deny it. Not sure what that is about yet.

Nice! Video finally works. Time to go change my rating for the app.
Awesome, glad to see it.

Weird how it asks for root privileges. I almost allowed it!

I know. I thought about it but didn't. Haven't had a chance to look it up yet.

Stills work if you allow it.
Since everyone was commenting about the fact that it asks for SU, just wanted to add that having root is not necessary. I know it's implied, but just wanted to clarify it. I'm completely "out-of-the-box" stock, and it's working without a hitch, finally.
I just installed it straight from the market: works perfectly, and didn't ask for root permissions at all.
<<bringing it since 2010>>
Thanks, just installed fine, without asking for root permissions
this works for anybody? or u need an HBO subscription?

i reinstaled TB few times..restarted phone..etc.. nothing helps

It's somewhere in here, it states to restore 1 at a time works.
Switch the app processing mode (under preferences) to classic. It's not ideal but it works.

It works absolutely fine for me. It might be worth running root checker from the market.

I had this problem yesterday upon flashing 4.0.2. The way I fixed it was by updating its bootloader to the latest OTA one.
No need to change modes. TN has been updated for ICS and works 100% now with the Galaxy Nexus

[Q] Chrome not compatible???

I got the ICS upgrade, and Google Play says Chrome isn't compatible. Why?
That sucks. Haven't tried over here yet. Still de-bloating this *****.
You must not have ICS.

I can confirm that Chrome works for me.
I rebooted my phone and now it works. Strange.
Is there going to be support for Google Wallet now that we have ICS? I tried it, but it complains it's not certified and exits.
Its up to "the carriers". Recently the big 4 want to start their own NFC Waller thing going.

I can confirm that chrome is working for me. Touch CWM/SU 3.0.7 are working as well.

This also worked perfectly on my takju. Thanks to OP.
I can confirm this. Followed the instructions and the JB 4.1.1 update showed up.

This worked for me too, but it crashed while updating in recovery. My phone is stock, and now when I try the trick again, I can't get the update...
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Honestly I think the main thing is clearing the data and checking. People seem to be throwing in other steps that I didn't do, but who knows maybe its a different situation for others.
Plus we're going to start seeing a ton of threads with variations of this "trick".

well worked for my galaxy nexus 4.0.4, its now updating to 4.1 thx to op
This worked for me. I have been checking every five minutes for the last couple days, clearing Framework, restarting, using different networks, and as soon as a tried this I received the update. Another thing to note, I checked for the update right before I used this "trick" to make sure it wasn't just a coincidence and I was still receiving the dreaded "Phone up to date" or whatever. So for this to be a coincidence would be a pretty low probability.
Thanks OP.
Even if this didn't do anything, I got the update finally.

Worked beautifully! I now have Android 4.1.1.
One quick correction: Google Framework is Google Services Framework.
Also, until 13 July 11:28 P.M. Google will only permit you to install using WiFi.
I tried it worked then restored root with voodoo. I am forwarding this info to others. A lot do not know about this.
my other phone is Nokia maemo n900
I did your trick, it working for me. But when it installing I get this error ; E : signature verification failed
I only rooted en unlocked the bootloader..
Thanks

Shell randomly getting superuser access continuously!

Is anybody getting this on FI03? It slows down my phone and won't go away till I reboot! Also I did do some searches and read a few topics about it on different devices. Seem to be common on ics roms. Some people suggest using supersu instead. Any feed back on supersu and if it has the same issue? Just trying to find out before making the switch.

I already updated the binaries just was waiting on some feedback before installing supersu. Going to go ahead and do it now. Hopefully it does the trick. I've already hard reset my phone twice and same problem.
Update: Just want to say getting rid of superuser and installing supersu fixed the problem. I guess after many years of running superuser it's time for me to retire it. I actually like the look of supersu better. Anyways just in case someone else has the issue in the future that's the fix.
