I have a HTC desire 816 and i rooted it with CWM recovery (still have s-on, bootloader is unlocked)
I tried flashing CM12 on the phone and it says an error. (Installation aborted)

Use CWM 6.0.5.1 or use latest TWRP

Question. I just tried to update my one m8 to the new cm11 m9 Rom and I followed the guide but after I fastboot flash the boot.img I'm not taken to the screen where you choose to go to recovery I get the splash screen and then a black screen and when I try to flash the zip in recovery it says it fails. Thanks in advance to any help.
What's the error shown in recovery?

it doesn't give an error it just says failed
Why not ask in the rom thread? ?

Try using other version of the recovery or try flashing the ROM with CWM instead of TWRP.

can't root it try'ed but failed and now recovery wont boot get error in red
Same I tried the windroid universal toolkit unlocked bootloader but I couldn't find a costum recovery I tried installing the 820's then I ended up with no recovery

i talked to HTC and told them about the recovery they said that they will tell the dev-team and will contact me via mail still waiting for them found the RUU file on a site but i need to register and pay 40$ monthly fee for the account
No roothing guide yet
HTC Desire 820q doesn't even has a working rooting guide yet. We can only unlock the bootloader and the next recovery step won't work. So it would be better to wait until lollipop is released for 820q.

I want to install the OTA Lolipop update on my Desire 816 A5 European Version, but I need the Stock Recovery. Can someone send me the stock recovery? I wasn't able to find one on the web or on XDA. So, I created this thread.

Thank you. Yesterday, I flashed the stock recovery and relocked the Desire 816. Now, on Bootloeader, it shows Relocked - Tampered - S-On
The ota installation doesn't work. Do you know, how to remove tampered ? Will this RUU work?

You Can't Directly Install OTA
But Can Able Extract OTA with RUU and Continue Installation

I don't think desire 820G+ has any custom recovery so far, but I can try to port a custom recovery for you if I get your stock recovery

OK. I have downloaded the firmware and extracted the recovery, shows build number 1.12.720.1 which is of Indian CID.
Seems the device is powered by an older MediaTek CPU.
Just to confirm what is your build number?

Thanks for testing it. Unfortunately newer versions of TWRP need a device with lollipop kernel so it might be difficult to port

Yeah, i ported 2.8.1.0 version of twrp, but after flashing my device did'nt booted into recovery.

i don't know after flashing any rom recovery flash the rom, but during time of rebooting system i shows that no os installed
need custom recovery
